a. There are currently 84 countries where this serious penalty applies
and although various government and non-governmental
organizations have made efforts to try to convince governments
to abolish it.
b. Fortunately, we can say that today more than half of the world's
countries have abolished the death penalty in law or in practice.
c. The United Nations proclaimed the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights to protect and defend the dignity and freedom of all
human beings, regardless of gender, age, race, color, sexual
preference, religion, etc. (Section three); and the prohibition of
torture, cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, simply by virtue
of being human (article five).
3. Opinion
a. SO ask ourselves: Is the death penalty goes against several
articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, or there is
an exception for people labeled as murderers, rapists, drug
traffickers, etc? Is this type of people "leave" being human and
therefore should be deprived of their own human rights?
4. Human rights
a. Human rights: Can we stop being human to any kind of situation?

b. AGAINST :
i. Not reduce crime more than the life sentence for example.
ii. runs leads to a lot of innocent people.
iii. It creates discrimination against minorities.
iv. It is a violation of human rights.
