Financial Report
By David P. Kamke, Financial Vice President
This year promises to be another successful one for PSIA-C. Your Board of Directors and Education Staff members have
been working hard to prepare for the upcoming season.

PSIA-C and the PSIA-C Education Foundation both ended the 2003-04 season in a strong financial position. The
combined un-audited net income was $14180.20 on revenues of $411,591.95. This past year’s performance would
not have been possible without the Board of Directors and Education Staff members monitoring our revenues and
expenses throughout the year.

As costs continue to rise, it becomes increasingly difficult to

run a balanced budget without increasing revenue. This year
the Board of Directors has again limited price changes to only
one event due to a format change. Membership dues and
education event prices remain unchanged.

To keep prices down, the board has adopted an investment

strategy for the association’s reserves. This strategy will be on
the conservative side. Asset preservation will take precedence
over increased yield. The investment portfolio will be income
focused. Income generated from the portfolio will directly
offset costs associated with member-driven projects.

PSIA-C’s decision to focus on being an education-based

organization will open many doors to help strengthen its
financial position. Opportunities will arise to further expand
the PSIA-C Education Foundation. The Education Foundation
has a §501(C)(3) tax-exempt status with the I.R.S. This
qualifies any donation to the Foundation as an income tax
deduction for the donor.

For every donation to the Education Foundation, the office

will provide a proper receipt. For any questions regarding
the 2003-2004, 2004-2005 budgets, or any other PSIA-C
matter, please contact me or the PSIA-C office.

See you all on the snow! PSIA-C

(COLLABORATION CONTINUED FROM PAGE 1)

Without these relationships, the ASEA, which encompasses the PSIA and AASI, would not be able to provide
services our members have come to expect. The visionary and coordinator of this working arrangement is
Stephen Over. Thanks, Stephen!

A survey was conducted last winter, which many of our members took the time to complete. The complete
survey results will be posted on the Web site at www.psia.org. The primary reason for this survey was to find out
where to place our emphasis in identifying strategic issues and how to adjust our focus from our base point and
Strategic Planning Session last fall with the Division Presidents.

Professional development is the No. 1 reason that members said why they join our association - as 86%
of the respondents indicated. This is further highlighted throughout the survey. With this in mind, the ASEA
Board of Directors is working towards fulfilling the desires of the membership.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and we’ll see you on the snow in just a couple months!!! PSIA-C
