Getting Organized

Keep it short and sweet so that your story remains relevant and relatable
It’s best to tell your Why story at the END of your presentation after you’ve built up a rapport
with your guests and now the thought of doing what you do might be crossing their mind
Tell your guests a little bit about you and then ask, “Why do you think someone like me, would
do something like this?” Listen carefully…their answers may be reasons why they might do this
too!
Fill a decorative bag with reasons that represent your Why Story (i.e. pictures of your children, a
cut-up credit card, a picture of your new car, etc.) and tell your story pulling out items from your
“Why Bag.”
You have a lot of creative domain when creating your 30-second commercial and you’ll craft different
ones for different scenarios and different people, but the important thing to do is to answer the question,
“What do you do?” effectively. The answer should NOT be who you ARE; it should expressly be what
you DO.
“I give women an excuse to get together with their friends and have FUN...and through the process I
empower them and give them the chance to change their lives!”
“I help women feel more pampered, empowered, and I help make some of them richer too!”
Tips:
Be short and to the point! You only have seconds to capture someone's interest- make good
use of those first seconds by getting right to the point!
Anticipation is key! You want your 30-second commercial leaving them wanting for more! Don't
tell them everything...just a tease!
Share yourself! What makes you special...different? How do you fit into their life? If you show
the benefit of yourself, they'll want to know more!
Share the wealth! What do your benefits do for others? What problems do you solve?
Once you've developed your 30-second commercial, USE IT! Remember- the livelihood of our business
is all about talking to enough people- so talk it up! Start talking to your hairdresser, the cashier at the
grocery store, your bank teller, the person in line behind you and in front of you...EVERYONE! Practice,
Practice, Practice- you'll get more and more comfortable sharing your commercial the more you say it!
Create different commercials! One for our products, one for our opportunity, and one for your parties!
And, of course, have different commercials for different audiences...Good marketing is all about
knowing your audience!

Getting Ready
What
Staying On Track
You have pin pointed your goals, both your bull’s-eye goal and your outer rim goal, and you may have
your long term vision on the horizon set. At Athena’s, we encourage you to dream big and believe that
with focus, commitment, sharing, and positivity that you can and will achieve those dreams. Part of this
process involves having an accountability partner, such as your Recruiter. It is her job to support you
by knowing of your dreams and goals and offering you Coaching Calls, Team Meetings, and checking
in with you to see how your monthly sales and bookings are going to see if you are on track with your
goals via our Monthly Recruiters Report.
Remember that communication is a 2-way street. Be sure to remain in contact with your Recruiter and
respond to phone calls/emails from her. If at any time you feel you need additional support from her,
speak up! It’s possible that she is unaware that you are wanting for more than what she is offering you.
All healthy relationships are built on open communication, so keep the channels open.
When
Maintaining Clear Intentions
You went over your calendar, marked off the things you can not or will not change, and then placed
stars on the dates you want to work. The operative word here is want. Keep in mind that this business
is designed to work around you, not the other way around. There are great ways to maintain calendar
control when booking your parties so that you continue to always work when you want to work. Here
are a few:
Use an Open Date Sheet (as seen on page 8 and available as part of the Celestial Beginnings
worksheet under Download Forms on the Goddess section of the Website)
When verbally offering party dates, always offer your next two available dates. If those don’t
work, offer your next two available dates. People rarely like to say, “No” twice and when
offering more than two dates, people will often choose the last date offered. You want to book
in close; Parties booked within the next week or two are the simplest to plan and are often the
best! Your Hostess’s prospective guests know what they’re doing next week…they don’t have a
clue what they’re doing a month from now.
When someone asks you to call them at a later date, offer to “pencil them in” for a date so they
can “secure a date in your datebook.” This creates a sense of urgency and helps you solidify a
booking. (It’s not a booking without a date!)
The “FLOW” spreadsheet helps keep you organized before and after your parties. Using the same
set up as the “Follow Up” spread sheet found below - use the following field information across the top
of the spreadsheet:

Get familiar with the Athena’s website (www.athenashn.com). You can keep current with
programs, promotions and tools and the site is a terrific place to direct prospects to find out
about the company. The Download Forms section is a great resource, as are the Teleclass
archives!
Order a stamp or print labels with your name, Goddess ID number, telephone number and E-
Mail address on it. Make sure everything you hand out has your contact information with web
page address.
o You can get labels with the Athena’s logo on them from

o At parties, encourage guests to keep their brochures! This way they can re-order, pass
on to friends, etc. Suggest parties for Bridal Showers, Bachelorette parties, Holiday
parties, and football season parties, regular friend “get together” and so on, and so on...!
You want your customers going home with their wish lists!
Carry a small calculator with you at all times. You never know when someone will want to
place an order!
Create a workspace so your “office area” is clearly defined. Whether you have the luxury
of a separate office or you have a card table set up in your bedroom, having one place to work
will save lots of time. Inform your family that this space is off-limits to them.
Organize your paperwork. A file cabinet, crate or cardboard box will do.
Set up a system to track income and expenses. A handwritten or electronic one will do.
Set up a system to keep receipts. One envelope for each month or labeled envelopes for
“postage”, “office supplies”, etc. work great.
When it comes time to re-order Order Forms, you can purchase them from the home office
on a Supply Order (Freedom) or on a regular order (Independent) in quantities of 100. In larger
quantities, personalized, you can contact B&M Printing at 401-568-8420.
Business Cards, Thank You Cards, Postcards, and other logo materials are also available
through www.townandcountryprinting.com
Stickers are fun! They draw extra attention to your catalogs, Hostess Packets, etc. You will
find a wide assortment of stickers at www.thebooster.com.
Work consistently. When people call wanting to book parties in your area, the home office
refers those bookings to Goddesses who are actively working their business. Call the office to
let them know you are looking for leads.
Marketing Tools
Car signs are a great way to get the word out during your commute to your full-time job or when
you’re running errands. Be sure to include the company name, your name, phone number,
email address and your own AHN homepage address. You’ll be delighted when people call you
or place an on line order through your AHN webpage!
Pens/pencils - Often these will be left behind and/or taken home with guests. Consider “click”
style pens vs. “cap” types. When the cap is lost, what happens to the pen? It usually gets lost,
or worse, leaks into a purse or pocket! Atlas Pen and Pencil Corp is a nationwide distributor of
a wide variety of marketing materials including customized pens and pencils. They offer service

Posters/flyers– Can be used in Laundromats, gyms, grocery stores, or anywhere else that you
would like to advertise your business. Create something that stands out and is classy to
advertise your new business. You can have your name and business phone # on tear off strips
at the bottom for potential hostesses to take home with them. For your privacy, you might want
to just list your “Athena’s by” and your First Name with phone #. Be sure to check back
frequently and put new flyers up when all of the previous ones have no name/numbers left on
them!
Matchbooks – We have found these to be inexpensive and very productive. Your investment is
usually repaid from the first booking. You can give them out everywhere you go: in restaurants,
bars or anywhere people go! Atlas Pen and Pencil has a wide variety of styles and colors to
choose from and are reasonably priced.
Nail files - These are fairly inexpensive and great to hand out to ladies everywhere! Most
women carry these faithfully in their pocket books. If a friend needs to borrow it, viola…there is
your advertisement! Atlas Pen and Pencil carries these as well.
Business card magnets - Buy magnets at Staples, Office Max, or a local business supply
company and apply cards as needed. These are great to send with Hostess packets or to give
with large orders. The average person leaves a magnet on their refrigerator for 6 years!
Offer a “referral bonus” - You could give away product (I.e. a bottle of Pure Instinct) to anyone
who refers you to someone they know.
When you do giveaways at parties, take advantage of our great line of samples! It’s to your advantage
to give your hostesses a little of everything. By giving these samples away, you are promoting the
purchase of full size items in the future. This always promotes future sales!
Give out samples of products and brochures to people who show interest in your Athena's
business.
Label all samples and brochures with your name, Goddess number, webpage and business
phone number.
Refer customers to the company internet website. The website has pictures, descriptions
and brochure prices for all of our items. People can look items up on the site and then call you
to place their order. This is especially helpful when taking phone orders or dealing with people
who have “significant others” who couldn’t be at the party. In addition, if a customer places an
order on the website and includes your Goddess number, you will receive 25% of the retail
sale in CASH. Website figures are tallied at the end of the month and payments are issued to
you on the 15th of the following month. You’ll receive money—for doing almost nothing!!!
Each Goddess can have her own personal page on the Athena’s web site. Your personal page can be
edited and personalized by changing the wording to highlight specials you are running, extra hostess
incentives you are offering, products you have on sale, and any other information you want to
communicate to your clientele. Your picture can be uploaded through the office, by sending it to
marketing@athenashn.com , a link to your email address and phone number will be included. By
establishing your website, your Goddess # is automatically affixed to any order placed on line by
anyone who visits your page and who then goes shopping on the site. Thus, you are guaranteed 25%
of the retail amount of the sale!

Getting Bookings
Who
Now that you know when you’re going to work, it’s time to find your Hostesses! You’re going to employ
your well developed “Who Do You Know List” from your earlier exercise and start contacting them! Aim
for at least 5 live contacts a day, meaning that you physically talk to them; not voicemails or emails (see
“The 21-Day Challenge”).
“Hey, it’s Susan! Do you have a moment to talk? Great! I’m calling because I want to share my
exciting news with you! Since the last time we spoke I become a GODDESS! I’m working
through a company called, “Athena’s Home Novelties,” and I am now the owner of my own
business called, “Athena’s by Susan”. This is very exciting for me, and I wanted to share my
news with you! Would you do me the favor of being one of my very first Hostesses and letting
me shower you with free products?”
Great! That’s an easy one! Offer them your next two available dates and start Hostess
Coaching (see “Hostess Coaching”)! Congratulations- you have a Booking!
Explain that this is unlike any home party she has ever attended! Paint a verbal picture to let her
know how much fun she and her guests will have. Then invite her again and let her know how
much it means to you to have her as one of your first hostesses.
Invite her to your Grand Opening and ask her to give you her opinion.
o “’No,’ not ever” may mean that she simply doesn’t host home parties. Move on to “Ask
for a referral.”
Ask for a referral. She will probably be happy to provide a referral when you ask for it. After all,
friends hate to say “No” to two requests in a row! Also, offer an incentive for the referral- “I bet
you know someone who has parties! If you give me their name and number, I’ll give you a Free
Pure Instinct when their party holds!” or “Can you think of someone who might like to get a
group together and earn all of the FREE gifts for being a Hostess? I’ll give you a $15 gift
certificate when they hold their party.”

Getting Ready
Make at least five contacts a day for 21 days. You will talk to more than 100 people. Industry data
shows that 35% of those contacted will place an order and/or book a party. Of those 35, seven will
want to explore the business opportunity. Of those seven, you will recruit one or more. As you get
good at identifying and meeting needs, you will probably experience even better results.

Keep track of your contacts. Make at least five contacts each day. If you get behind, make more
contacts the following day until you get caught up. After 21 days, you will become an excellent
prospector, earn significant income and find at least one Goddess to join your team. Plus, you’ll earn
valuable rewards and recognition.
Leave messages that solicit a return phone call. Make sure that your voicemail is clear that you
expect your prospect to call you back and let them know that if you don’t hear from them in a
few days that you’ll be giving them another call…and be sure to follow-up!
Contact them by snail mail. We all love to get something other than bills in the mail! Send your
prospect a letter (see “Hey Girlfriend!” letter and promo on the following pages). It not only lets
your prospect know that you were thinking of them, but also gives you a chance to tell them
what you wanted to over the phone.

It’s true! Working through a company called, “Athena’s Home Novelties”, I am now the
owner of my own business called, “Athena’s by ______”. This is very exciting for me, and I
wanted to share my news with you!
And while I don’t want to pressure you in ANY WAY, I was hoping that you would take the
time to check out the enclosed catalog and promotions that I am offering to my friends and
family as I’m getting started. As I build my business, I will continue to need all of the love
and support that you have always given me!
Please don’t feel like I’m expecting you to purchase anything from me or book a party. I
just really wanted to let you know about this exciting company that I’m now associated
with, and give you the opportunity to see for yourself 1) what kind of wonderful products
that Athena’s and I can now offer you, 2) how fun and rewarding it can be to be the

Hostess Incentives:
In addition to the basic 10-15% of party sales total toward free product that a hostess
would usually receive, anyone who has a party during the months of May - August 2008
will also receive the following:
Anyone who attends a party and brings three or more friends will receive a free gift.
Booking Incentives:
Word of mouth referrals that result in a party = $10 cash + free gift.
Word of mouth referrals that result in a party with sales total that exceeds $1,000 =
$20 cash + free gift.
Ordering Incentives:
If you place an order by phone or email, I will send you a free gift.
Outside orders (from people who have NOT attended one of my demonstrations)
totaling over $30 = $10 credit toward free product for person who referred them.
The simplest place to book parties is at parties! But don’t expect the guests to volunteer to book! You
need to take an active role in inviting them to host a party. People expect you to ask them! They
understand that it is the role of the Goddess to offer her services. And why wouldn’t they want to say,
“YES!” All you are asking is, “Can I give you your favorite items FREE?”
Involve the guests in your presentation. People prefer being involved to listening to a lecture.
Sprinkle comments about booking throughout the party. Mention booking at least three different
times!
“Everyone is so busy these days! My Hostesses love having a party so they have an
excuse to get their friends together!”
“Joan, thank you for booking from Sue.”
“I’ll be offering each of you the opportunity to have a party. If you KNOW you want to
have one, let me know BEFORE I offer and I’ll give you an extra gift!”
Create a Booking Poster to illustrate the Hostess benefits. We retain a higher percentage of
what we both SEE and HEAR! So visuals play an important role!
Present a “Thank you” gift to your Hostess in front of her guests.
Tell everyone what’s in it for them to book a party- you can do this in several ways:
You can explain the Hostess Benefits for your Business Plan
You can simply state, “My average Hostess earns approx. $____ in Free Products!”
You can collect a sampling of products totaling what your average Hostess earns and pile
them up on one of your guests laps to visually illustrate what a Hostess might purchase with
her credits
Don’t forget to mention any Monthly Hostess Specials or other incentives you or the
Company are running at the time of the party!
Show your guests your Open Dates sheet on a clipboard. “Having a party is so much fun! Let
the guests know that you will be offering your Open Dates to each of them. Don’t prejudge who
will be interested…offer it to everyone.
While you are totaling the orders, OFFER a party to each guest. Personalize your approach.
Try these approaches and add some of your own.
“You really seemed to enjoy yourself tonight, Sue. You might enjoy getting a few of your
friends together for a party. While I total your order, check out my Open Dates sheet. If one
of the dates works for you, just pencil in your contact information and I’ll reserve that date
for you.”
“Thank you for your order, Jane. You’re going to love the _____. I haven’t had a chance to
look at the order forms yet. If you marked that you would like to have a party, just take a
look at my Open Dates sheet and pencil in your contact information next to a date that
works for you.”
After totaling the orders, announce the amount your Hostess is receiving FREE to the remaining
guests! You may also want to tell your Hostess what you earned as the Goddess- it’s a great
recruiting tool!
Bright Idea!
Pay attention to booking “Green Flags.” “Green Flags” are verbal and non-verbal
messages that a guest gives you that he or she may be interested in having a party.
Watch and listen for these “Green Flags” so that you can personalize your approach as
you invite the guest to book.

Remember to:
Offer a choice of two dates from your Open Dates sheet. “I am booking the week of _______.
I have ________ and ________ available.”
Book in close! The parties booked in the next 7-10 days are often the simplest to prepare for
and the most successful.
Begin Hostess coaching on the phone and get the Hostess Packet to your Hostess right away.
The Phone is Your Friend! The phone is a time-saver that allows you to instantly reach people
whether they are next door or miles away. You will use the phone not only for booking parties, but
also:
Prospecting for customers and future Goddesses
Getting coaching from your Up line
Scheduling parties or other appointments
Closing a sale or a party
Customer Care Calls
Recruiting interviews
Coaching Goddesses who join your Athena’s HN team
And the list goes on!
Be prepared. Have your list of names, Open Dates and booking materials in front of you for
easy reference.
Introduce yourself and find out if the person has time to talk.
Create a sense of urgency! Use a promotion the company is offering or create a “limited time
offer” of your own.
Offer a choice of the closest dates on your Open Dates sheet.
Keep track and call when you promised you would. If you don’t call when you said you would,
your prospect will think that she is not important!
Be available as often as possible for “swing” parties - A swing party is when another
Goddess can’t do a party for some reason and needs to give the party away. On the Athena’s
Goddess side of the website, you can download a phone book listing all the Goddesses by city
and state. There is also a key to inform you which Goddesses carry stock, and how much, and
also which Goddesses are available for couples parties. For more information about “swing”
parties, see “Swing Party Etiquette” in this manual.
Check HappyBuzzing – Go to: athenashn.com and sign in using your Goddess # and
password. Click on Happy Buzzing then Swing Shows.
In the event you are experiencing a personal emergency, immediately begin calling Goddesses who live
closest to the party. If at all possible, you should always try to find your own coverage for a party.
However, in the event you cannot, you may contact the office for help during normal business hours.
Goddesses often call and let us know when they are available to help a sister in need.
When “Swinging” a party, you must adhere to the “Swing Party Etiquette” guidelines to assure the
hostess receives the best and most seamless experience possible. See swinging parties on the next
page.

Hostess Coaching Is your Success Insurance
Now that you have the Bookings, it’s important to KEEP them! The most important part of the party
happens before the event. It takes just as much time to do a little party as a great big one, and
Hostess Coaching makes the difference.
Hostess development and Hostess coaching are important lifelines of your business. Without your
hostesses, your business does not grow. It’s very important that your communications with your
hostesses are positive. Hostess development begins at the TIME OF BOOKING the show. You
should use the time between the booking and the show to build a relationship with your new
hostess. When you book a show with a new hostess you have created a new line of business.
She and all of her friends are about to become your clientele, and, if handled properly, will be your
clientele for many years to come. She will certainly share with her friends how you handled her
show. Use this time to build a solid positive relationship with her. Remember- a lot of our business
is generated by word of mouth advertising!
Carry hostess packets with you everywhere. As soon as you set a date, hand your new Hostess
her Hostess Packet! Take the time (less than 5 minutes) to quickly review the contents of the
package. Let her know that you will follow up with her the following day to confirm the date, see if
she has any questions or will be needing any additional supplies ... invitations, catalogs, order
forms, etc. You should also begin reviewing the no children policy right from this point so
your hostess is fully aware that no one under the age of 18 is ever allowed to be in the home
when an Athena’s party is taking place. Follow the guidelines for hostess contact as listed in
this section once she has her hostess packet.
Working together, the event can be successful and profitable for both of you.
Begin coaching as soon as you set the date. Tell your Hostess, “My job is to help you get what
you want from your party. I’ll work with you every step of the way.”
Help your Hostess brainstorm her guest list. Explain, “Most of my hostesses find that inviting
from several different groups increases attendance and makes the party more fun. Our guest list
has some thought starters. You want to write down at least 30-40 names because only about 1/3
will be able to come.”
Enthusiasm is contagious! Share your enthusiasm when you speak to her and tell her to share
her enthusiasm as she invites and let her guests know how much fun they will have at her party.
Suggest that she invite personally – either in person or on the phone. Tell her to ask each
prospective guest, “Are you available?” Have her put a checkmark next to the name of
everyone who responds “Yes” or “Maybe.”
Independent Goddess: “Payment is required when the order is placed. Your guests will
take their products home with them in most cases.”
Freedom Goddess: “Payment is required when the order is placed.” “All orders will be
sent to the hostess within 14 business days.”
Make a list of the people on the “Yes” and “Maybe” list that didn’t attend the party. Encourage
your Hostess to call them the next day to see if they would like to place an order from her party.
Bright Idea!
It’s a proven fact that invitations increase attendance. If you want to be sure those
invitations are mailed, mail them yourself and/or send your Hostess an E-vite using the
Athena’s E-vite System which is covered on the next few pages. The time and money
you spend is more than justified by increased attendance, sales and bookings. In
addition, when you receive the guest list from your hostess, you know the date is
secure.

The closer you book the party, the less work it is for you and your
Hostess.
The 3-call Follow-up Coaching System works fine for parties booked in the next three
weeks. Of course, if the party is booked more than three weeks out, you will need to
make more calls.

On the following pages you will find a sample document that you may also want to include in your
hostess packets. It will begin your hostess coaching in writing, but the calls are still extremely
important to help build a relationship with your hostess. We have also included a copy of the
“under 18 law” which you can find under the “downloadable forms” section of the website.
Who do I invite? One of the biggest mistakes Hostesses make is to assume that “so-and-so”
wouldn’t come to an adult party. Don’t prejudge your guest list; invite everyone and let them make
the decision. Start a list of friends, co-workers, neighbors, fellow soccer/PTO moms, your
hairstylist, and your massage therapist…any woman you come in contact with that you feel
comfortable inviting into your home. Stumped for ideas? Call me!
But, I have a really small house… Over invite, Over invite, Over invite!!! Statistically, only 1/4
-1/3 of the people you invite will actually come! Also, they’ll sit on the couch, they’ll sit on the floor,
they’ll sit on chairs, they’ll sit on laps, they’ll sit in the next room over…they’ll sit anywhere (or
stand!). The more purchasing guests you have, the more free stuff for you! 15-20 purchasing
guests ensure your shows’ success!
What if someone says “No?” Again, statistically, you will get No’s. It’s virtually impossible to
pick a date and time that works for everyone. When someone says they can’t come, ask them if
they would like to place an outside order (there is a catalog with order forms in your Hostess
Packet). Outside orders count towards your final party sales, thus earning YOU more FREE
products! If you have questions on outside orders, just ask! Also, ask them if they would like to
book a party of their own- you will get a $15 credit for every booking! Plus, if you have 10 Buying
Guests, 5 Outside Orders, and 1 Pre-Arranged Bookings when I get there, you get a FREE
_________. A _____ value!
Make Reminder Calls! People forget. It doesn’t mean they don’t want to come, it just means
that they’ve forgotten! If you booked your party more than a month in advance, call your guests a
month before to remind them to mark their calendar. Make a second reminder call a few days
before the party- this not only ensures higher attendance, but also gives both of us a more
accurate headcount! Be sure to ask, “Can you come?” rather than say, “I hope you can come!”
The Day of the Party… Designate a room for the demonstration and a separate room for
ordering, preferably with a door that can be closed. Two very important points to keep in mind-
*No one under the age of 18 can be in the household, including infants!
Don’t go overboard with munchies; the point of the party is not to stress you out; it’s to have
a wonderful time! I will be in your house for approx. 3-4 hours- this includes my set up and take
down time. Please keep this in mind when making child care arrangements (if applicable).
When does the party close? Please plan on closing your party that night. I am required to
submit your party within 3 business days, including your order. This ensures that your guests’
products arrive in a timely manner.
What do I do with the extra invitations, etc. you sent me? I’ll gladly take them back!
Anything you don’t use in your Hostess Packet is welcome back with open arms…just hand them
back to me at the end of your party!
After the Party! Freedom Goddesses: All orders are shipped directly to your hostess via
UPS within 14 BUSINESS days- approximately 2 ½ weeks (unless a customer has paid for direct
ship). All orders are individually boxed and labeled with each customers name and address, to
maintain confidentiality and to make dividing the orders an easy task for you! If any item is on
backorder and can not be included in the party when shipped to you, it will ship directly to the
customer. If there are any discrepancies, please call me immediately (000-123-4567)
Indy Goddesses: Let your customers know that any items you do not have in stock you will ship
to them within 14 BUSINESS days. AHN suggests sending all orders with delivery confirmation.
Don’t hesitate to call me, email me, or visit my website! Your questions or concerns are
never a bother! I am here to make sure your party is a complete success and I will do everything I
can to make that happen! This is my full time job, so I am committed to you!
What if I need to cancel/reschedule? Well, I hope that you don’t! But, I understand that life
can take unpredictable turns and cause plans to change. I ask that you please let me know AS
SOON AS you know. Again, this is my job and the sooner you let me know, the sooner I can offer
that date to someone else.
To begin using the Hostess E-vite program, simply log-in to your Athena’s on-line account.
On the left hand side of the Goddess homepage you will find a link that reads “Add
Hostess” (it’s the third link from the top of the page). Click on the link.
You will be directed to the Create Hostess page shown on the following page.
From here, simply select the date and time of the party. Enter in the Hostesses first name,
last name and E-Mail address and click on “Add New Hostess”. You will see the following
message appear in red: E-Mail was generated and sent to the specified Hostess E-
Mail address.
At this point your Hostess will receive an E-Mail with the subject line of “Here is your
Athena’s Hostess Information”. The E-Mail contains the specified party date and time
along with a party number, the Hostesses E-Mail address – which they will use as their
user name – and a unique password for their party. The Hostess will be prompted to
follow the link within the E-Mail that will take them directly to the Hostess Log-In page.
Important – please tell your Hostess to save this E-Mail as they will need the user
name and password to access this area and view their responses leading up to the
party.
Once the Hostess has logged in to the site they will need to enter a phone number along
with the party address (city, state and zip) – their name, the time, and date of the party will
be automatically filled in for them.
Your Hostess will now begin to enter their guest list using the guest’s first name and their
E-Mail address. They can enter as many guests as they’d like.
After entering all of their guest’s information, the party Hostess will create their invitation
which will be sent to the party guests listed. The Hostess can preview her message before
it is sent. Once completed, a simple press of the “send” button and the E-vite process is
complete.
The Party ID numbers used are for the E-vite feature only – this number is not to be used
by Freedom Goddesses as their party ID. These two features are not linked together.
Remember, the numbers are only used for this.
The Goddess will receive a duplicate E-Mail of what is sent to the Hostess so that
they can view the party responses. You will use the Hostesses E-Mail address and
the unique password that is generated to access the information.
There is a “lost password” feature that the Hostess can use should they misplace
this information. They will need to get the party ID number from the Goddess who
created the party. You will see that your Hostesses party information is retained in
the “Add Hostess” area and that the Party ID numbers are listed there.
If a guest receives the E-vite and replies “no” they will be asked if they would still
like to place an order. There is a contact information form that they will complete;
this will generate an E-Mail that will be sent directly to the Goddess so that you can
contact the customer directly.
Hostesses can continue to invite more guests to their party at any time. There is a
“send” checkbox beside each guest name. They simply need to uncheck the box
next to those guests that they have already invited and hit send again.
As always, should you encounter any problems with the program, please contact the home
office during normal business hours.
One exception to this would be if a customer complains to you about a previous Goddess
or product issue – in this case, please give them the Customer Care phone number and let
them know that we will do our best to assist them. The phone number to the Customer
Care line is: (401) 248-4721. To reach Customer Care by email, the address is
customercare@athenashn.com
Here are just a few examples of when is would be appropriate to call Customer Care:
1. You are an Independent Goddess and shipped an order to a customer, but the
order was not received by the customer.
2. You are doing a party and you realize that there are children in the home or they
come home before the party and the Hostess is upset because you could not
start/complete the demo with children present.
3. If your customer calls you regarding a defective product to exchange.
When the Customer Care Liaison receives a complaint, all of the pertinent information will
be gathered from the customer and the Goddess/Adonis will be contacted immediately.
PLEASE keep in mind that PER YOUR CONTRACT, you have 48 hours to respond to
any phone messages or email from ANYONE at the home office…and in particular
the Customer Care Liaison. We will do our best to get both sides of the story and work
with you to keep your customer happy. Most of the time, the issues are minor and easily
resolved. However, if you do not get back to the Customer Care Liaison within the 48 hr.
period, the customer will be taken care of and you will most likely be billed for any product,
apology gifts or gift certificates that have to be sent out. This is why it is so important to
return any calls or emails that you receive about a customer complaint!
In rare cases, a formal, written “complaint” is placed in the Goddess’ permanent file.
These are mostly for contract violations…so please be aware that it is your responsibility to
know our policies and your contract so that you do not have any problems. If a written
complaint is necessary, you will receive a copy of it by mail for your records.
The following tips, policies and common complaints are for your information and benefit.
We hope that you will take the time to be aware of all that you can and should be doing for
your customers – in the regular course of your business as well as in the event of a
complaint. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our
Customer Care Liaison on the “customer complaint” line at (401) 248-4721.
Because we carry the highest quality toys in the industry, we DO offer a 30 day warranty in
the event of a manufacturer defect. Should a customer contact you regarding a product
that doesn’t work, here’s what you should do:
If none of the above troubleshooting techniques solve the issue, then proceed on to our
Exchange Policy:
NOVELTY ITEMS: If a customer receives a defective toy, they are to contact the
Distributor from whom the item was purchased within 30 days of the sale. If you receive a
call from a customer with a defective product within this time frame, please instruct your
customer to put the product in a plastic sealable bag and return to the home office
at: 640 Winter Street, Woonsocket, RI 02895 ATTN: RETURNS. It is extremely
important that they include a piece of paper with their full name, mailing address,
phone number and a brief description of the problem.
Upon receipt of the item, we will happily send the replacement to the address provided,
and will include a free gift to cover their cost of shipping the item back to us. WE DO NOT
REIMBURSE CUSTOMERS FOR SHIPPING COSTS. If your customer is really upset
about having to ship the item to us at their cost, you can offer to pick it up and take care of
the return for them.
If a customer has an allergic reaction to a body product, please ask them to STOP
using the product. The customer can either throw it away or give the unused
portion to a friend. Apologize for any inconvenience and let them know that
someone will be in touch with them shortly. Please EMAIL the customer’s full
name, mailing address, phone number, and the SKU number of the item that they
purchased that caused the reaction. The Customer Care Liaison will contact your
customer to apologize again on the company’s behalf and to issue them a product
credit for the full retail value of the item. Emails should be sent to
customercare@athenashn.com
If you hear from someone who purchased a product MORE than 30 days ago, or if it
is a body product, keep in mind that this is your opportunity to WOW them! Although the
home office/warehouse is not able to take back the item, YOU are welcome to offer your
customer a discount, replacement, free shipping and handling, or whatever you are
comfortable with on your own. Some things that you may want to take into consideration
are: how much they spent, if anyone else from that party booked a party with you, how
upset they are when they contact you, etc. For example, if someone spent $200+ at a
party where 3 other parties were booked, and your customer is really upset, we strongly
recommend that you go out of your way to show them that they (and their satisfaction) are
important to you. For example, let them know that all sales are final or that the item was
purchased prior to the 30 day guarantee period, but that YOU want to be sure that they are
happy – and offer 15% off the same item if they purchase a new one. Send them a free
gift with their purchase/replacement, and a short note of apology (even though it’s not your
fault that the product isn’t working) for the inconvenience. You can ALWAYS do MORE for
your customers even when the corporate policy doesn’t apply.
Party Cancellations
Athena’s Goddesses and Adonis are not permitted to “cancel” a party on a hostess for any
reason. It is the Goddess’s/Adonis’ responsibility to find another Goddess or Adonis to do
the party in the event that you are unable. This is usually not difficult as most
Goddesses/Adonis are more than willing to take a party where they didn’t have to do any
of the work (getting the booking, sending out a hostess packet, hostess coaching, etc.). In
extreme situations, a simple call to your recruiter or the home office with the hostess’s
party information may be all that it takes to get coverage. Other options include:
Contact someone who has posted their availability on the Happy Buzzing
website.
Post the party on the Happy Buzzing website under “Swing Shows”.
Offer it to your recruiter.
Offer it to a sister Goddess who is also on your team.
Offer it to someone in your success line.
Call a Goddess/Adonis who is in the area of the party.
If the office receives a complaint that you were a “no show”, you will be asked to
offer the hostess a $50 credit if she is willing to re-book with you. If she would
prefer another Goddess, the office will offer her a gift certificate in the amount of
$50 and you will be billed at your discount. A formal written complaint will also be
placed in your Goddess file.
Check your voicemail and email daily. Try to return all calls or emails within a 24
hour period. This seems simple, but the #1 complaint that customers have –
unreturned phone calls!
If you are going on vacation or an emergency comes up, simply change your
outgoing message on your phone to state when you plan to return calls so that your
customers will not feel neglected, and so that those of us at the home office will
know when we can expect to reach/hear back from you.
You are required to have a VALID phone number on file with the office at all times.
If you are experiencing phone trouble, please get in touch with us to give us a
temporary or new number where you can be reached.
Taking Orders:
When taking orders, whether by phone or at a party, be sure to get ALL of your
customer’s information! You will need their first and last name, a billing address, a
mailing address (if different) a phone number and an email address (if they are
willing to share that with you). The phone number is particularly important in the
event that there is a problem with their payment, if an item that they ordered is on
backorder, or if their package is returned due to an error in the address. If a
hostess gives you outside orders that do NOT include all of the required
information, ask her to obtain it for you or at the very least, obtain a phone number
for the customer so that you can call them directly and get the missing information.
Independent Goddesses:
All customer orders should be SHIPPED to each individual customer unless they
have specifically requested that you send it to the hostess. You are charging a
shipping and handling fee, so please do not “drop off” orders to customers or send
everything to the hostess. All orders are to be delivered within 14 business days, so
please allow yourself the time to place the order, have it shipped to you (or you can
pick it up from the home office), separate the order, package up the customer
orders and get to the post office to mail them out. This is especially important if you
are holding a party to place the order with another party for a higher discount.
When packing customer orders, please be sure to use appropriate packaging. For
example, if you are shipping a Coochy pump, you would want to use a cardboard
box…NOT a padded envelope! There is a Better Business Workshop available
through the Learning Resource Center and on streaming video called, “The Art of
Presentation” that will provide additional tips on this topic.
PLEASE be sure to get a delivery confirmation number and/or tracking number for
ALL orders that you ship. If a customer contacts you to tell you that they never
received a package that you shipped, and you have a delivery confirmation or
tracking number, you will be asked to provide that information to the Customer Care
Liaison, along with the customer’s name, mailing address and what they ordered so
that the order can be re-shipped at no cost to you. If you do NOT get delivery
confirmation or a tracking number, and a customer claims not to have received their
order, you can still contact the office and we will re-ship the order, however, you will
be responsible to pay for the items (you will still get your distributor discount) and
the cost of shipping.
Freedom Goddesses:
In the event that you are unable to submit a party within the 5 calendar day
timeframe, we ask that you please contact JoAnn Westgate at extension 32 or
joann@athenashn.com. If you do not contact her to make her aware of the
situation, what ever it may be, and you submit a party late, you will be charged $10
late fee. In addition, if your late submission causes a late delivery of orders (beyond
the 14 business days), you will be required to pay for apology gifts that will be sent
to each customer. If a hostess asks for you to “hold a party open” for a few days so
that she can collect additional orders, let her know that you MUST submit the party
by the 4th day after the party (although you technically have 5 days, it is a good idea
to say 4 in the event that there is a problem with someone’s payment when you do
submit the party. This will allow you the extra day to get in touch with that customer
to resolve the issue without having it cause the party to be submitted late). If she
gets any additional orders AFTER you submit the party, you are happy to take
them; however, they will not count toward her hostess credit.
Please see “Ordering Information – Freedom Plan” for what to do in the event that a
customer’s credit/debit card payment is declined. Canceling the order should be a
last resort. If you are unable to get in touch with the customer or if they are unable
to give you a different credit card or other form of payment remember this will result
in the hostess not receiving as much credit as you had given her at her party. In the
event that you DO have to cancel a customer order, you will need to contact the
hostess to explain that an order was cancelled (do not tell her who or why due to
confidentiality reasons) and that she either owes more money for her order or you
can adjust her order (take an item off) so that she does not owe anything additional.
Be sure to let your hostesses know that if they pay for their order with a debit card
(even if they ask you to put it through as “credit”), an authorization will be placed on
the amount of the order BEFORE her hostess credits are deducted. For example, if
a hostess orders $233 worth of product, and after hostess credits the hostess only
has to pay $14.40, if she uses a debit card to make that payment, it will put an
authorization or “hold” on the account in for the full amount of $233. Within 3-5
business days, the hold will disappear and the card will only be charged the $14.40.
However, during this time, $233 will be UNAVAILABLE to your hostess. So, if this
causes her account to go negative or incur overdraft fees, you will be responsible to
pay any fees if you fail to explain this policy at the party. Be sure to have the
hostess mail or fax you a copy of her statement showing the fees that they are
asking to be reimbursed for. They can use a permanent marker to “black out” any
personal information such as her account number and any other purchases not
relating to Athena’s. You can use this document at tax time to claim the fees that

Customer Care
you had to pay the hostess. Please see “Ordering Information – Freedom Plan” for a
copy of this policy. You can take this to every party with you and leave it on your
ordering table.
o Note: This ONLY affects the hostess. Any other party guest using a debit
card will only be charged the amount they have authorized on the credit card
slip.
Product Issues
Let your party guests know that they should ALWAYS REMOVE batteries from their
toys when they are not in use and that they should NOT wrap any cords around the
toy base. Also let them know that all toys should be cleaned with antibacterial soap
and warm water BEFORE AND AFTER each use, as this will reduce the number of
product issues that you’ll hear about.
It is helpful to let your customers know that products ordered from Athena’s may
come in different colors other than what you are showing in your demo or that they
may see in the photos online. Additionally, many of our products come to us in
“bulk packaging” from the manufacturer – this means they are in plastic shrink wrap
or a plastic bag – they don’t have to worry if this is how their products arrive. Bulk
packaging allows us to get better pricing from some manufacturers, and then we
can pass that savings along to our customers!
2. Freedom Goddesses forget to explain to the hostess about using a debit card.
Make certain you review and understand “Ordering Information – Freedom Plan”
that explains what happens when a hostess uses a debit card for her order, the card
will initially authorize the FULL AMOUNT of her order, BEFORE deducting her
hostess credits, so that amount will be unavailable. Then, when the ACTUAL sale
is processed within 3-5 business days, she will only be charged the amount she
signed for. PLEASE let them know this so that they will have the option to use
another form of payment (cash, check or credit card). If it is a debit card, this is how
it will be processed. If you fail to explain this to the hostess, you will be responsible
to pay for any overdraft fees that she incurs.
3. General disappointment – The Goddess didn’t play games, there weren’t any
prizes given out, or the Goddess charged every customer shipping and
handling.
Ah, the complaint that technically isn’t a complaint….this is why hostess coaching is
SO important….please find out WHY the hostess is having the party and what her
expectations are….that way you won’t disappoint her.
7. Goddess holds party open too long (for hostess to get additional orders or
due to payment issues) and other customers are not notified directly by the
Goddess.
PLEASE don’t ask your hostess to contact all of her guests to let them know about
a delay…it is YOUR business and YOU should be thrilled at any opportunity/excuse
to contact your customers directly! This is your responsibility. Also, if you are a
FREEDOM Goddess and you are not able to submit your party within the 5 calendar
days timeframe, please be sure to call JoAnn Westgate at the home office at x32 or
joann@athenashn.com to let her know to avoid begin charged the $10 late fee.
This in turn can help prevent complaints.
9. Goddess doesn’t give every customer a copy of their invoice – or, if they DO
have a copy of their invoice, the Goddess’ contact information is not on it.
Anytime you have an opportunity to give your contact information out, please take it!
This will help your business! If you are in the ordering room and writing up
someone’s order, and you notice that they did not fill out the top portion with your
name, Goddess number and phone number, FILL IT IN FOR THEM. You can also
print labels and stick them to the second (yellow) copy of the order form that your
customer will be taking home. This way if they need to contact you for any reason
or would like to place another order they have your contact information in one more
spot. This can never hurt!
10. Goddess gives a long list of untrue excuses why orders have not been
placed/received/etc.
This is your business. If you make a mistake or encounter a situation that is beyond
your control, call the Customer Care Liaison to give us a heads up and get advice
on how to handle the situation to minimize the damage. PLEASE don’t give your
hostess a list of excuses to cover yourself…in most cases, honesty and a sincere
apology is best!
When you arrive at the party, bring just your briefcase to the door. When inside,
ask the hostess where the ordering room will be. As you walk through the house,
without being obvious, check the other rooms for children. Also, ask the hostess if
there are any children present. Remember you can not; by Law bring in your
demo items until all children have left the premises! If a guest comes to the
party with a child, take the hostess aside and calmly explain you’re sorry, but either
the child or you needs to leave. Do not, under any circumstances, raise your voice
or make anyone feel uncomfortable! If the child can’t leave, ask the hostess when
she would like to reschedule.
Remember, when you do a party, you are representing the entire Athena’s company.
What people see in you, they see in all of us! Do not drink, smoke, or partake in illegal
substances while you are at the party location.
At all times, remember that you are a professional and you represent the entire Athena’s
company!
Athena’s Home Novelties is known for our well-trained distributors and professionalism.
Just as it would be illegal for someone to do a toy party with minors present, being in the
presence of under-aged drinking or guests who are using illicit drugs should also not be
tolerated. Please be sure to be thorough in your hostess coaching and give your
hostesses a copy of the Under 18 Law (can be found under downloadable forms) and let
them know that you will have to end your presentation if you become knowledgeable of
anyone under the age of 21 consuming alcohol at the party or if illegal drugs are being
ingested.
You are at a Party and the Hostess, or a Guest, Seems to be Flirting with
You
There is a nice simple way to respond - simply thank them for their interest and let them
know you already have a significant other. This usually gets the point across nicely!
Never discuss situations that arise with other people at the party, with hostesses, guests or
with anyone, including other Goddesses. You don’t want anyone to become
uncomfortable, embarrassed or upset!
The best defense is a good offense! Everything should have a place in your demo
kit; a scarf, a plastic bag, a slot in a wine bag so that you instantly know when
something has gone missing. When you do your demo, try to keep an eye on the
items as they are being passed around the room. Try not to have more than 3-4
items circulating at one time. You may want to walk around with items priced over
$50.00. NEVER leave your demo items in the party room while you are in the
ordering room. If you are certain someone has stolen an item (for example, you
SAW it going into a pocketbook), begin with a nice approach by saying something
jokingly, i.e., “OK-which one of you is hiding my ________. Come on now, give it
up!” Keep an upbeat tone and ask your hostess for assistance if needed. Give
them a moment or so. If the item doesn’t turn up by the end of the party, you can
write it up as a loss and take it as a tax break at the end of the year.
A guest tells you and everyone, how disappointed they were with a specific product
– Don’t let it kill your mojo!
This may happen and, if it does, tell the guest you are sorry to hear that their
experience wasn’t a positive one, however, every toy or product will not please
every person. Always publicly acknowledge, apologize and recommend a solution.
Follow your intuition. We are all unique. That is why we offer so many options. If
the item is defective, have the guest contact the Goddess from whom the item was
purchased. In addition, you can assist them yourself, at your discretion. If you
choose to replace an item, it is money out of your pocket; however, you may have a
lifelong customer because you provided outstanding customer service.
The guests are simply rude and obnoxious - Try not to get flustered!
Most of your parties will be fun! Most will have people who have a great time and
learn a great deal from you. However, on rare occasions your guests may get out
of hand! If you encounter a wild group, take a moment to try to calm them down.
Focus your efforts, and voice, toward the people who are listening. If you don’t
raise your voice, they usually tell the others to be quiet. You could begin asking
random questions relating to previously discussed items. Give the person who
answers the question correctly a token of some sort that equals a point. At the end
of the show, award a prize to the person with the most points, 2nd and 3rd place
winners as well (pillow or other samples are great here). If the group is
uncontrollable, cut the demo short and begin the ordering process. Occasionally
you’ll find that customers have been to several shows and are already familiar with
our products. Ideally, your hostess will help with “crowd control,” but occasionally
her efforts aren’t successful either!
If guests bend your demo items or do other unnatural things to them, remind them
that these items are made to handle what a vagina can do to them and, to date, we
haven’t found a vagina that can bend the item in half or throw it around the room!

Show excitement and passion for your work, for Athena’s, and for our products. Be
eager to please and go out of your way to exceed the customer’s expectations.

Smile warmly to create a friendly atmosphere.

accordingly! You are representing the entire company at public events.

*Be Knowledgeable - You have 10-15 seconds with most people that pass by you. Know what
you are going to say! Be knowledgeable on your booking and recruiting incentives and the
Athena‘s product.
* Be ready to multi-task! You will have a lot of questions coming your way. People will be
walking by looking at your table; they will be filling out information! It’s your job to be able to
touch base with every one of them.
Your Booth:
The presentation of your booth is the silent way to market your business. It makes a big
impression!
* Choose your product wisely - consider the public event you are at and choose items that are
appropriate for your audience. We have a wide variety of products that are perfect for public
display. YOU CAN NOT DISPLAY SEX TOYS AT ANY EVENT THAT IS NOT RESTRICTED
TO 18 AND OLDER.
* Decorations - You may want to add some extra decorations to your table to attract more
customers. Balloons, flowers, packaged products, etc are all great additions to your booth! (Be
sure to check the events rules and regulations regarding decorations)
*Booking/Recruiting Posters - These are great ways to get all the quick points of booking and
recruiting out! Be sure to highlight any booking or recruiting incentives you have.
* Bags/Give-A-ways - You will want to be sure that you have samples, give-a-ways, or perhaps
an Enter-to-Win Basket. These are all great ways to get customer information that you can use
as leads or add to your mailing list. Offer bags that have a sample, a catalog or Latest Buzz, all
your contact information as well as information about your business.
It’s important to remember that before signing up for any event you must call or contact
the home office and ask to speak with someone within the marketing department
regarding Expos and Events to ensure that the event is available and another Goddess
has not already signed up. A typical Athena’s weekend can have anywhere from 1- 5
events taking place across the country.

The registration form can be found in the downloadable form section of the website
under Expos and Events which is required to be completed in its entirety and submitted
to the home office for approval and scheduling purposes.
Payment:
The primary Goddess/Adonis scheduling the event must pay for the event/expo/bridal
show upfront.
Athena's will partner with you and the other Goddesses who work this event with you.
Goddess/Adoni is responsible for the shipping costs associated with their Expo/Event.
After the event you must submit proof that the expo was paid in full - I'm sure you can
obtain this from the expo planners.
And you must submit the number of bookings, recruit leads and mailing list additions.
(We do not want the actual slips - just the data)
Once we have received these two (2) things - you can expect a payment from Athena's
for our portion of the expo within 30 days of submission of these documents.
Ordering Information
Just how do you fill out those little order forms
anyway?
Let’s start at the top. You may want to hand out the
order forms at the beginning of the demo. Have the
guests fill in their own name, address, city, state,
zip, phone number, date and Hostess. Please tell
them who the Hostess is (many people think that
it’s you because you do the demo), and also have
them fill in the date. Doing this will save time when
they actually get into the ordering room. Tell them
that you will fill in the order details when they come
in to see you.
To compute appropriate Sales Tax, multiply the Sub-Total amount by the sales tax of the
state in which the party is held. (Please note that the AHN computer ordering system
collects sales tax on shipping and handling in states that may impose an additional tax. In
these states the tax rate applied will be the base state sales tax rate. Please be sure to go
to www.Athenashn.com and download the current tax rates that the system collects so you
can collect the correct amount from your customers.) Enter the Sales Tax in the
appropriate box. The Grand Total box is the sum of the Sub-Total, Sales Tax, plus the
S&H Fee.
Mailing List If this box is checked, double check the spelling of the name and address.
Let her know how often you send out mailers and what they will consist of. You should
consider having a “Welcome to my mailing list” letter so all new mailing list members know
that you haven’t forgotten about them if you don’t have a mailing coming out for a while.
Becoming a Goddess If this box is checked give a recruiting catalog! Get a phone
number where she can be reached in a day or so for follow up. Contact her to answer any
questions she may have as there are ALWAYS questions. If further interest is shown—
make an appointment for her interview with you.
If NO further interest is shown—thank her for her time and ask her to please pass along
the catalog to anyone she may know who might be interested in Athena’s.
** You always want to follow up on these 3 points before your customer leaves your
ordering room as they are the 3 builders of your business foundation. Without new party
bookings, utilizing a mailing list and sharing the business opportunity that you have with
Athena’s, you will not experience the true level of success that we at Athena’s have to
share with you!
Payment Options
The next step in the ordering process is the payment. Athena’s Goddesses accept a variety of
payment methods.
Cash
We recommend that you bring $25-$35 in small bills to make change
Keep the customer’s money out until you’ve made change and she/he leaves the room. If
questions arise about how much money was given you, it will still be available.
Counterfeit pens are available for checking the authenticity of large bills. To use the pen, make
a mark on the bill. If the mark turns black, the bill is counterfeit. Simply ask the customer for
another bill or form of payment. She/he may have had no idea the bill was bad.
Personal Checks
Obtain the customer’s driver’s license (or state issued ID card).
Verify the photo, name and address against the order form and check.
Write the customer’s driver’s license # and Date of Birth on the check.
No PO Boxes or Starter Checks should be accepted.
If a PO Box is given on the check– cross it out and write in the street address.
Verify the check is made out to the Goddess.
Verify check is made out for correct amount.
Verify the date on the check is correct - not postdated.
Verify the customer signed the check.
Credit Cards
Athena’s credit card slips MUST be used if you are using Athena’s processing.
Athena’s accepts Visa MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
Get an imprint of the credit card.
Fill in all requested information on the Athena’s credit card slip.
Call the appropriate credit card company to obtain authorization # (see next page).
Have your customer sign and release order only once all above has been completed.
Goddesses KEEP the Yellow & Pink copies of the slips for their records.
Goddesses on the Independent Business Plan have the option of getting their own credit
card machine and merchant account through their bank or other credit card services
company if they wish. If you would like to, please contact your bank or credit card merchant
services company.
When taking telephone/outside orders, please ALWAYS obtain the following:
Full name on card
Complete Billing Address
Telephone Number
Credit Card Number, Expiration date and the CID Code (the last three digits printed on the
back of the card)
** All Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express transactions processed through Athena’s
merchant number are subject to a 5% processing fee. This fee is added to your order.
Bounced checks are rare, but do occasionally happen. We have some resources available for you
to hopefully ensure that you will receive payment on any bounced checks. If you are a Freedom
Goddess and get a check returned to you PRIOR to the party shipping out or within a day or two of
it shipping, please contact the hostess to have her “hold” that customer’s order until the payment is
made (due to confidentiality, please do NOT tell the hostess that the customer bounced a
check…just let her know there is “a slight issue with payment that you are working out with this
guest”). Let her know that you will contact her once everything is settled so that she can “release”
the order to her guest. This way, if you do NOT receive payment on the order, you can have your
hostess send it to you (and then refund her for what she spent) or go pick it up from her.

will be able to assist you (once your account has been set up) with any future bounced checks.
There is no fee for this service, however, Brenda will charge the customer the $25 returned check
fee (this is how she gets paid), and so you will not be able to charge that to your customer for that
fee. She will hopefully be able to obtain the full amount of the check from the customer so that you
are paid what you are owed.
On the following page you will find a template for a letter that you can send to a customer who has
already received her order and bounces a check (if calling and/or emailing is not working for you).
Please feel free to adjust the letter for your needs. When you send the letter, be sure to send it
“return receipt requested”. If after 10 days you still have not received your money, you are able to
go to your local police station and file a claim for stolen goods. Should a customer receive her
order and never pay you for it, please keep a record of it so that you can claim it as a “loss” when

Per our policy, and as is noted on your invoice, there is a $25 fee associated with all returned
checks. I will need to charge you this fee in addition to the balance owed for your order.
The total due to me is $XXX. (OR I am happy to waive this fee (or reduce it to $XX) if you
will contact me and get the payment to me no later than (insert date).)
If I do not hear from you by the date indicated above, I will have no choice but to go to the police
department to report the goods as stolen. This is not something that I like to do as it is somewhat
embarrassing for both of us (as it requires that I list each of the items that you purchased by name
on the report). Obviously, if that happens, it will end the confidentiality that I am currently keeping
for your order.
I am hoping that this letter will prompt you to get in touch with me immediately so that I do not have
to take such measures. This letter is not meant to be a threat – I am simply making you aware of
the process that I must follow in order to obtain payment for the order (you have already received).
I prefer to give my customers the benefit of the doubt and time to take care of the situation…but I
want to be honest with you so that you will not be caught off guard if I should have to report this as
a theft to the authorities.
Please contact me now so that we can take care of this in an amicable manner. My customers are
the heart of my business and I look forward to resolving this issue so that I can continue serving

Ordering Information –
Independent Plan
When an authorization is received for a debit card a “hold” is placed on the funds. This “hold”
gives you 3-5 business days to process the charge. The web site processes the charge
immediately ~ some debit card customers see the “hold” and the “charge”. Because this is
coming directly from their checking account they cannot get to the amount being “held” until the
authorization drops off. The authorization will drop off in 3-5-business days.
Example: Customer has $100- in their checking account. A $50- order is placed. You get an
authorization for the amount. AKA ~ the “hold”. Then you apply the payment to your order. The
web site charges the $50- immediately (this is when the actual charge occurs). If your customer
tries to use their debit card elsewhere it will not allow them to because the “hold” and the charge
are currently being applied against the $100- balance of their checking account.
By explaining this to your customer before they use their debit card the customer can decide if
another form of payment should be used. If they view their account online ~ and see the “pending
debit” twice against their account ~ they will understand that this is only for 3-5 business days.
If paid by check, make sure all of the necessary information has been
provided.
If not, call the customer from the party to collect the information
If it cannot be collected, do not add the order to the party total
Contact the customer the next day to get the information, then contact
the hostess to let her know she now has additional credit to spend
** You should always encourage outside orders from your parties! They help your hostess
earn more FREE Athena’s products, and they help you earn more profit!
If you want to do a tally before placing your order on line you will need a GPL (Goddess Price List),
which can be downloaded from the company website, and all of the order forms from each party
you will be reordering from. Simply go through each order and put a tick mark for the appropriate
item in the retail item column. The GPL is self calculating so you can figure the cost of the items
before placing the order on the web.
Net Purchases
These are items that are the same flat price all the time. We charge the customer the price listed
in the catalog and we always pay a lower, set price. Your buying discount does not apply to
these items because they are always discounted.
When placing your order, you may also want to order Hostess Packets, Catalogs, and
Supplements for your up coming parties. You can also order any other supplies and samples on
your order.
At this point you will be sent to the My Account page to set up your account. This page will ask
for your complete name, e-mail address, address (billing and shipping), phone numbers,
whether you are full-time or part-time, how much stock you carry, how far you are willing to
travel for a party, whether you wish to be notified of swing parties, and any languages you
speak. Please fill out this information completely.
** You will also be asked for your password. Here you will be able to change your
password to something you will remember. Once you have filled out this page, click
“Modify” and your account information will be saved to the system.
Very Important Reminder: When changing any of your information (such as your name
due to marriage or divorce, phone #’s, address, email address or credit card to keep on
file) you also need to notify the home office. Our two systems are not linked as of yet –
due to this Athena’s Headquarters will have no way of knowing there are changes

Next you will need to click on the “Edit Payment Information” Button. This is where you will put
in your Credit/Debit card information. Once you have completed this section you will click
Update and this will save your payment information.
** If you should ever need to change your credit/debit card information, you MUST come back
to this screen by clicking on “MY ACCOUNT” and update your payment method BEFORE
placing your order.
To place an order, click on “Product Ordering.” This will bring you to our easy 5 step ordering
process.
Step 1: Enter Products - Here you will enter each product and quantity that you wish to order by
the SKU #. The SKU #’s are found next to each product on the GPL. Enter the quantity, then the
SKU, and click “Add Item” and your products will appear in the space below. If you are unsure of
a product’s SKU # you may also search by entering all or part of a product name in the “Search”
box, and then clicking the “Search” button. All products that match will be displayed along with the
SKU # - close the “Search” window, and enter the SKU # into the “Add Item” section. Repeat
these steps until you have ordered all desired products. If you wish to delete an item, you may
click “Remove” after the product under the heading “Items in Current Order.” This will delete the
product from your order, and refresh the page for you. Once you have completed ordering all
products, click on the “Continue to Step 2” button.
Step 2: Customer Credit Information - Here you will enter all of the information from the credit
card slips collected from your parties. You will need to fill in the card holder’s name, type of credit
card, credit card number, expiration date, authorization number, date of purchase, the customers
billing address and amount, then click on “Add/Update Payment” and the credit will be applied to
your order. Please be sure to click on the “Save Payments” button. Repeat this process until all
of your credit card slips have been entered. IMPORTANT: YOU WILL NEED TO ENTER THIS
INFO WITHIN THREE (3) DAYS OF RECEIVING THE AUTHORIZATION NUMBER. AFTER

entered all of your credit card slips, click on the “Continue to Step 3” button.
Step 3: Review Order/Order Summary - Here you will be asked to review your order to make sure all
information is correct. You will be able to review the following:
Retail Total - total retail products purchased
Buying Discount – the system will automatically generate your discount depending on how
much retail product you’ve ordered
Net Total - total net products (paperwork, and supplies and samples)
Credit Card Authorizations - total of all credit card slips entered in Step 2
Subtotal - total of all above items
Credit Card Handling Fee - 5% of the total of credit card slips applied
Shipping - cost of shipping your order to you via UPS
Handling - $5.00 charge added to all orders placed with Athena’s
Sales Tax Due based on your shipping address
Total Due Now - the amount that you are responsible for paying
**Please review all the information. If you would like to change the products that you ordered, click on
“Modify Items.” If you would like to change credit card slips, click on “Modify Credit Payments.” By
clicking on either ‘modify’ buttons, you will be able to go back and make changes. DO NOT USE THE
BACK BUTTON ON YOUR BROWSER. At this step, you may also elect to pick up your order at the
office. To do this, please click on the box next to “I will pick up this order.” If you check that box, the
website will automatically refresh and give you the new total. IMPORTANT: IF YOU WISH TO PICK
UP YOUR ORDER, THIS BOX MUST BE CHECKED. IF IT IS NOT CHECKED, YOUR ORDER WILL
BE SHIPPED. Once you are satisfied with your order and have verified that all the information is
correct, click on “Continue to Step 4.”**
Step 4: Submit Order - This page will display your total order cost, your payment and billing
information, and your shipping information. Please review and make sure that everything is correct.
Once you are satisfied with the information, click on the “Submit Goddess Order” button. IMPORTANT:
YOUR ORDER IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL YOU CLICK ON “SUBMIT YOUR ORDER.” At this time,
you will be forwarded to a confirmation screen that you can print out for your records.
You can order anytime, 24 hours a day! The only method to place your orders is through the
Athena’s Web Site.
If you are unable to complete your order for some reason and there is no one in the office at
the time, you may leave a message on a voice mailbox at the home office.
When someone gets in they will call you to help you with your order.
Things to Remember
Athena’s focuses on a 14 business day delivery time as per the contract. Sometimes
there will be an item on backorder with the company itself. Usually it takes no more than a week or
two to come in. Backordered items need to be mailed directly to each customer once the items
become available. During the day, you can call the office and check the current list of back
ordered items and the expected dates of arrival. After hours you can check backorder status on
voicemail box 11, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
All orders placed are available for pick up / ship out, after 2 pm, three (3) business days
following the order being placed. Orders placed before 11:00 am on Monday will be ready
for pick up / ship out after 2 pm on Wednesday.
Reminder – the warehouse is not open on weekends – so orders placed after 11:00
am on Fridays thru Sundays are considered orders placed before
11:00 am on Mondays.
If you forgot to order something and you already placed your order, you need to do a
separate order. Once an order is placed it can not be added to or subtracted from.
Please be sure to check the entire order before calling the office with discrepancies.
Samples and pillow packets for example are small and are sometimes placed inside
a box or in a plastic bag with other samples.
If your package is received damaged or ripped open, please save the entire box in
the event that UPS requests to view the package to evaluate a claim.
Please report any missing items or incorrect information on your invoice within 48
hours of receipt of the order to receive the appropriate credit.
When calling with discrepancies, please have all pertinent information ready: your
invoice number, date of invoice and what items you are missing or have extra, etc.

This is where you break down, item by item, everything the guest orders. When you write
out the items, write the Quantity first, the SKU # next, then the Item name. Then fill in the
Unit Price and the Total (unit price multiplied by the quantity). Let the guest know that the
order is sent to the hostess along with all other orders from the party. Each order is
individually packaged in a sealed box with the customer’s name and address to assist the
hostess in delivering the packages to the guests. There is also a guest order sheet for the
hostess so they know how many and whose packages are in the box. This ensures the
confidentiality that we thrive on! Don’t forget to advise the Hostess to call YOU if too much
time passes.

Counterfeit pens are available for checking the authenticity of large bills. To use the pen, make
a mark on a large bill. If the mark turns black, the bill is counterfeit. Simply ask the customer
for another bill or form of payment. She/he may have had no idea the bill was bad.
All cash and checks must be turned into either a debit or credit card payment from the
Goddess.
Personal Checks
Obtain the customer’s driver’s license (or state issued ID card).
Verify the photo, name and address against the order form and check.
Write the customer’s driver’s license # and Date of Birth on the check.
No PO Boxes or Starter Checks should be accepted
If a PO Box is given on the check– cross it out and write in the street address.
Verify the check is made out to the Goddess.
Verify check is made out for correct amount.
Verify the date on the check is correct - not postdated.
Verify the customer signed the check.
Credit Cards
Athena’s accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
Athena’s credit card slips MUST be used.
Take an imprint of the card (this is imperative in case of a charge back from the merchant or
the customer)
Fill in all appropriate information and have your guest sign the slip.
Verify the signature against the signature on their card.
You must obtain the billing address of the credit card if the address the customer provided is
only their shipping address.
Goddess KEEPS the yellow copy of the credit card slips for their file
*You do not need to call in for authorizations because you are not sending customers home with
their purchases. Our secure website obtains the authorizations when you enter the orders.
(For phone orders, you may process without a signature as long as you get the CID code
and write “Phone Order” where the imprint would go.) Next, have the customer sign the
slip. The customer receives the white copy; you keep the yellow copy for your records.
FREEDOM PLAN -You DO NOT need to fill in an authorization number on the credit card
slip.
** Very Important Information ** It is your responsibility as the Goddess/Adoni to alert your Hostess
to how the following two procedures work, which will allow her the opportunity to use another form of
payment if desired. Keep a copy in the ordering room or send a copy in your hostess packets. If you do not
inform your hostess of these policies and if she should, as a result, incur any overdraft fees, YOU will
be responsible to reimburse her for those charges.
Bounced checks are rare, but do occasionally happen. We have some resources available for you
to hopefully ensure that you will receive payment on any bounced checks. If you are a Freedom
Goddess and get a check returned to you PRIOR to the party shipping out or within a day or two of
it shipping, please contact the hostess to have her “hold” that customer’s order until the payment is
made (due to confidentiality, please do NOT tell the hostess that the customer bounced a
check…just let her know there is “a slight issue with payment that you are working out with this
guest”). Let her know that you will contact her once everything is settled so that she can “release”
the order to her guest. This way, if you do NOT receive payment on the order, you can have your
hostess send it to you (and then refund her for what she spent) or go pick it up from her.

will be able to assist you (once your account has been set up) with any future bounced checks.
There is no fee for this service, however, Brenda will charge the customer the $25 returned check
fee (this is how she gets paid), and so you will not be able to charge that to your customer for that
fee. She will hopefully be able to obtain the full amount of the check from the customer so that you
are paid what you are owed.
On the following page you will find a template for a letter that you can send to a customer who has
already received her order and bounces a check (if calling and/or emailing is not working for you).
Please feel free to adjust the letter for your needs. When you send the letter, be sure to send it
“return receipt requested”. If after 10 days you still have not received your money, you are able to
go to your local police station and file a claim for stolen goods. Should a customer receive her
order and never pay you for it, please keep a record of it so that you can claim it as a “loss” when

so that we can resolve this issue.
Per our policy, and as is noted on your invoice, there is a $25 fee associated with all returned checks. I will
need to charge you this fee in addition to the balance owed for your order. The total due to me is
$XXX. (OR I am happy to waive this fee (or reduce it to $XX) if you will contact me and get the
payment to me no later than (insert date).)
If I do not hear from you by the date indicated above, I will have no choice but to go to the police department
to report the goods as stolen. This is not something that I like to do as it is somewhat embarrassing for both
of us (as it requires that I list each of the items that you purchased by name on the report). Obviously, if that
happens, it will end the confidentiality that I am currently keeping for your order.
I am hoping that this letter will prompt you to get in touch with me immediately so that I do not have to take
such measures. This letter is not meant to be a threat – I am simply making you aware of the process that I
must follow in order to obtain payment for the order (you have already received). I prefer to give my
customers the benefit of the doubt and time to take care of the situation…but I want to be honest with you so
that you will not be caught off guard if I should have to report this as a theft to the authorities.
Please contact me now so that we can take care of this in an amicable manner. My customers are the heart
of my business and I look forward to resolving this issue so that I can continue serving you as your Athena’s
Goddess.

They help your hostess earn more FREE Athena’s products, and they help you
earn more profit!
Example:
A customer orders $69.00 worth of products.
They redeem one Goddess Gold booking certificate which is worth $15.00. You
would list all of the items individually on her order.
Then you would list the Goddess Gold Certificate as (-$15.00).
Her “Taxable Product Total” would be $69.00 but her amount listed in the
“Product Total” box would be $54.00.
Once all the items are written on the order form, put the appropriate amount in the
Product Total box. Hostess benefits are based on the amount in this box.
You will multiply the Product Total amount OR the Taxable Product Total amount (if
Goddess Gold was redeemed by the customer) by the sales tax of the state to which
the order is being shipped. Because all orders are shipped to the Hostess for
distribution, SALES TAX IS BASED ON THE HOSTESS’ ADDRESS. If a customer
has requested to have their order shipped to them directly, you will need to charge
them tax on the state they are having the order shipped to.
** Please note that some states DO tax shipping and handling. Please be sure to go
to the website under downloadable forms “Tax Information” to get a list of the
current tax rates that the system collects and the list of states in which shipping and
handling is taxable so you can collect the correct amount from your customer. **
Add the product total, sales tax and the handling fee together and write your total in this
box. Now give your Guest their total amount due so they can prepare their payment.
List the total amount of Hostess credit due in the Hostess Credit box. This amount will
include her % from party sales, the $10 Hostess gift from Athena’s and any Goddess Gold
booking certificates that the Hostess is redeeming from previous parties (not the ones
awarded for bookings from the current party).
Take your Sub-Total and subtract the Hostess Credit. This is the amount that your
Hostess owes you. Give this amount to your Hostess so she can prepare her payment.
Subtract from that amount the total Hostess Credits that were awarded from AHN.
Include the % from the Guest totals, the $10 gift from AHN, and any Goddess Gold
certificates from previous parties.
All parties MUST be submitted within 5 calendar days from the date of the party.
(There will be a $10 late fee for any party submitted after this time.
If you are having a problem submitting your party, please contact
JoAnn at ext. 32 or Customer Care at 401-248-4721 to possibly avoid a late fee.)
This allows time for all customer checks to clear your account. Once parties are submitted
to Athena’s they are accepted and CANNOT be changed or cancelled.

information, contact your customer immediately. Every customer needs a shipping

Customers Interested In New
The first time you click on any type of order, the system will bring you to the following
screen.
You will need to enter your debit/credit card information into the system if this information
is different from the card used to purchase your starter kit. If you need to change your
default payment details you will need to click on “My Account” and choose “edit payment
information” at the bottom of the screen.

To submit parties to the home office you can do this one of 2 ways:
1. From the “Party Detail Page”, scroll to the bottom and click on SUBMIT TO HOME OFFICE.
2. On the “All Open Orders” page, select the check box next to the party or parties you would like to
submit. Then click SUBMIT PARTY TO THE HOME OFFICE.
NOTE: You can submit multiple parties at one time by clicking more than one checkbox. If
you do not select the box before you hit submit, you will get an error page. DO NOT hit the
back button. You will need to close out of the website and sign back in to resubmit the
party.
If you click OK, the Party Submission Results appears. The results show the party ID, party date,
hostess name and status. Once a Party is submitted, it will then authorize & capture all credit cards.
If any of the credit cards return Declined your entire party will return to your All Open Orders
section.
** The purpose of this feature is so you are able to get this valuable information right away so the
party does not get held up. This allows you to immediately contact the customer whose card is
declined in order to replace it or submit another form of payment. The party automatically will
return to your All Open Orders screen awaiting the edit in order to submit. **
Here you will see which customer or customers’ payments have been declined. These
customers will have a red light and an error code at the end of the line. In order to see the
reason for the decline, “hover” over the code with your mouse. A pop up box will appear
with the reason for the decline.
*Note: You can print a copy of all the codes and the reasons associated with each code in
the downloadable forms section of the website. The PDF is a 5 page report called Credit
Card Decline Codes.
2. Click the edit button of the customer who declined in order to fix the error. If you
click into the customer’s order and you are not changing any of the information at
this point, click the “save without edits” button at the bottom of the page so the
customer will still show a red light the next time you go into the party.
If you are changing the information to correct the error right away, then click on the “save
and see party details button”.
3. Once all of the customers have green lights again and all declined information has been
fixed, scroll to the bottom of the party detail page and click submit to Home Office to
reprocess the party. If all the credit cards are fine, the party will return approved. If a credit
card for a customer is still being declined, this will continue until the card is approved or
another form of payment is entered.
(Party Sales = Guest Orders and Hostess overage minus any GG Booking Credits)
*Note: If your party sales are under $150 and the Hostess does not order anything
please put the party in as Individual orders. This way all the customers will have
their products shipped directly to them.
Penalty Fees
A penalty fee of $10.00 per occurrence will be charged whenever a party is
submitted late. Remember parties must be submitted within 5 calendar days from
the date of the party. If your party is going to be late and the circumstances are
beyond your control, please contact JoAnn at ext. 32 or Customer Care at 401-248-
4721 to avoid a late fee.
Party Sales = The amount of product purchased at a party before any shipping & handling
charges, sales tax, or Goddess Gold Booking credits.
Hostess Overage = The amount that a hostess spends on her order above and beyond
what she has earned as her Free Hostess Product and BEFORE any sales tax is added.
Example:
Hostess overage of $121.95 x 35% = $42.68 commission for Goddess on Hostess Overage
Goddess Gross commission = $388.13
Fees subtracted from commission = $24.00
Goddess Net Commission = $364.13

The “All Open Orders” page appears.
Editing a Party
One of the options you have available on the All Open Orders page is to edit each party. If you choose this
option, the “Party Detail” page appears. The “Party Detail” page is the page you should print out
BEFORE submitting the party to the office for processing. Once you submit a party you cannot get
back to this page to see your party summary or commission summary!
1. On the "Party Detail" page, if you need to edit the hostess, click EDIT on the hostess' name
line.
NOTE: If you know that the billing and shipping addresses are the same, click the “billing
same as shipping address” checkbox to activate it. Also be sure you have selected the
correct state in the shipping address. This is where the tax for the entire party is calculated
from.

If you would prefer to carry a stock of products to sell directly to your customers then the
Independent business plan would be the best business model for you.
The Freedom Goddess Homepage offers you a simple four-step process to order your supplies.
4. If you click the I WILL PICK UP THIS ORDER checkbox, the screen will automatically update
your Total Now Due. You will want to print this page so you will have a copy for your records.
NOTE: The tax in the Sales Tax line defaults to the state entered in your Goddess profile.
Review your order for accuracy, and click SUBMIT YOUR ORDER. The order is sent to the
home office.
You can order anytime, 24 hours a day! The only method to place orders is through the
Athena’s Web Site.
If you are unable to complete your order for some reason and there is no one in the office at the
time, you may leave a message on a voice mailbox at the home office.
When someone gets in they will call you to help you with your order.
Things to Remember
Athena’s focuses on a 14 business day delivery time as per the contract. Sometimes
there will be an item on backorder with the company itself. Usually it takes no more than a week or
two to come in. Backordered items need to be mailed directly to each customer once the items
become available. During the day, you can call the office and check the current list of back
ordered items and the expected dates of arrival. After hours you can check backorder status on
voicemail box 11, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
All orders placed are available for pick up / ship out, after 2 pm, three (3) business days
following the order being placed. Orders placed before 11:00 am on Monday will be ready
for pick up / ship out after 2 pm on Wednesday.
Reminder – the warehouse is not open on weekends – so orders placed after 11:00
am on Fridays thru Sundays are considered orders placed before 11:00 am on
Mondays.
If you forgot to order something and you already placed your order, you need to do a
separate order. Once an order is placed, you cannot add or subtract items to/from the
order – you will need to place an additional order.
Please be sure to check the entire order before calling the office with discrepancies.
Samples and pillow packets for example are small and are sometimes placed inside a box
or in a plastic bag with other samples.
If your package is received damaged or ripped open, please save the entire box in the
event that UPS requests to view the package to evaluate a claim.
Please report any missing items or incorrect information on your invoice within 48 hours of
receipt of the order to receive the appropriate credit.
When calling with discrepancies, please have all pertinent information ready: your invoice
number, date of invoice and what items you are missing or have extra, etc. Please call
x 32.
Accessing Reports
The Freedom Goddess Homepage allows you to view and print party reports. The following is a
list of reports and what each report will show you:
Submitted Parties: This will provide you with a list of all parties submitted over the last month,
3 months, or 6 months.
Party Summaries: This report allows you to search for party information by hostess last
name, date range, or party ID #. Additionally, individual guest orders can be viewed.
Party Guest Summary: This report allows you to search for guest information by Guest last
name, date range or party ID. The individual guest orders can also be viewed in this report.
Emailing List: This report displays a list of all customers who have asked to be included on
your mailing list. The customer’s name, the party date and their e-mail address are included.
Party Bookings: This report will display a list of all customers who have booked a party with
you through another party. Both party dates along with all customer contact information are
included.
Product Sales: This report provides you with a listing of products purchased by individual
Hostesses and customers. This report can be created by a specific date range or product SKU.
Total Party Sales: This report will provide you with a list of total party sales in order from
highest to lowest. This report can be sorted by date range and includes the Hostess name and
Party Date.

2. If I would like to order samples for my hostess/customers can I order this on their
party/individual order and pay for it myself?
If you would like to buy samples for a hostess/customer you must order the items on a
supply order ONLY and give to them the night of the party, they can not be added to their
order.
3. If my party does not reach $150 does my hostess still get the $10 gift from AHN and will I
be charged party fees?
No, they do not get the $10 gift and there is no hostess credits awarded if a party does not
reach $150 in guest sales. You will not be charged any party fees.
If the party does not reach $150, submit the customers’ orders as individual orders and
each order will be shipped directly to the customer.
6. Even though the entire party is being shipped to the hostess do I need to fill in every
customer’s billing and shipping address?
Yes, every customer needs to have a complete billing and shipping address for the
following reasons.
8. When a party is declined how do I know which customer has declined and why?
*When a party is declined on the party detail page you will see a red light next to the
customers name and a decline code at the end of their line. Hover your mouse over
the code and a pop up box will appear to tell you the reason for the decline.
9. If a party declines and a customer does not have a red light but has a code 100 at the
end of their line what does this mean?
*Code 100 means the credit card was authorized and is waiting for you to resubmit
the party once the other declines have been fixed. The system authorizes these
cards so your customers are not double charged.
10. When I try to submit my party from the “All Open Orders” page I get an error
message, am I doing something wrong?
*If you are getting an error page when trying to submit from the “All Open Orders”
page you must remember to click the box next to the party before hitting submit to
home office.
11. My hostess had 3 bookings the night of her party; can she use her booking credits that
night?
*No. Goddess Gold Booking Credits are to be redeemed once the future booking
has been held and is a qualifying party ($150+ sales). The original hostess can use
the booking credit the night of the new party towards her purchase.
12. When I place an Individual order and my customer is using his/her credit card, the
system is still showing that my credit card will be charged. Will I be charged?
*No you will not be charged. The system will recognize that your customer’s credit
card information is there once you hit the submit button.
13. Does a customer redeeming a booking credit need to use the entire credit on one
order?
*YES, the value of the order must be at least the amount of the booking credit.
Booking credits CAN NOT be used to pay for tax or shipping and handling.
For example: If the customer orders an item that is $12.50 and they have a $15
booking credit to use, they MUST spend the additional $2.50 before you can close
out the order. Please note you CAN NOT order samples.

Fun, friendship, recognition and financial rewards are all good reasons to recruit and
everyone you meet deserves the opportunity to be an Athena’s Goddess! Think about
why YOU joined Athena’s, and how it has changed your life for the better. Now think
about what a blessing it is to be able to offer others the same opportunity!
Many new Goddesses hear about the opportunity to recruit and think, “I’m so new at
this…I can’t possibly be a ‘leader’ for anyone!” At Athena’s, we believe that new
Goddesses can make GREAT recruiters – you are excited and have just taken the
amazing step of starting your own business…you will be talking to everyone you know
about Athena’s and your business…so an invitation to join you by starting their own
Athena’s business is a natural offer for you to extend!
Recruiting is what keeps your store open even when you are not present.
* Keep in mind that the goals you want to achieve should be based on how many
recruiting packets you can hand out and how many appointments you are going
to make ~ You can not control how many people will say, YES!
* Know your recruits goals and vision, this will allow you to help them develop a
successful business plan that is tailored to their specific needs.
* Offer coaching and training to your down line, be sure to check in with them and hold
them accountable for their goals.
* As a team leader it is NOT your responsibility to make sure your recruits are
successful as you can not force them to implement their own plan. With
consistent coaching and training you will nurture a team that will offer you
financial rewards and new friendships.
Hand out at least 3 recruiting brochures at every party. Doing one party per
week amounts to 3 people that you will talk to about becoming a Goddess.
Totaling 12 people per month equals 144 people per year. Industry data
shows that 1 out of 10 will join your team, so that’s 14 per year!
Take a fresh look at the people on your “Who do you know?” list. Don’t assume that
you know what they need in their lives. Even close friends and family don’t
necessarily tell you! It’s up to you to share what you enjoy about your business and
invite them to find out more.
The world is full of people you haven’t met yet. Get good at starting conversations. A
smile, a question, a comment works wonders for opening the door to conversation.
As you meet people, start a habit of building a rapport with them so that you can
share a little information and exchange names and phone numbers. As you get to
know about a person, you will hopefully be able to identify how owning their own
Athena’s business would help them to achieve their goals. When you take the time to
get to know them first, they will see that the offer is coming from a place of “service”
rather than seeing you as just being pushy.
Look for concentrated groups of prospects at your parties, starting with your Hostess.
After all, she liked you and your product enough to invite you into her home. Watch
for guests who enjoy the process and love the products! The party is a natural
beginning for the recruiting process.

inform people, you need to personally invite individuals to learn more about the
business opportunity.

Avoid clichés when talking about your favorite benefits ~ Instead of telling the
guests that you love the high hourly earnings, be specific. “One of my goals for my
business is to be able to earn enough to make our house payment. I love being able
to work eight times a month and earn enough to do that.”

Step 2: Invite
1. When you begin coaching ~ “I’ve included some information about the business.
Many of our Goddesses were Hostesses first, so I know you may have
questions.”
2. In follow-up coaching calls ~ “You should know that your party could be the Starter
Party for your own business. Is there anything about my job that looks good to
you?”
3. When you get to her home ~ “While I’m setting up, why don’t you ask me any
questions you’ve thought of about the business?”
4. When you close the party, remind her that the opportunity is still available and
that you would be happy to help her get started with the bookings from her party.
Let the guests know you will be asking them! “I’m sure you can tell I love what I
do! I’ll be inviting each of you to consider the business for yourself or someone you
know.”
Add to your contact notebook the name of anyone who expressed some interest in
the business, either for now or in the future. The number of names in your notebook will
grow as you enhance your skills and invite more people.
Begin an Information sheet (Downloadable Forms section on the website under the
Interview Forms tab) on each prospect who took an information pack. Make notes about
anything you have discovered about your prospect. Follow up at the time you
prearranged.

Be sure that you have provided her a recruiting insta-pak either before your
meeting or at the meeting. It is important that EVERYONE who expresses an
interest in the business opportunity is given this information in order for them to
get an idea of what the company offers and is about. The recruiting insta-pak
includes general information that any new Goddess will need to be made aware
of in order to make an educated decision. You can use the insta-pak during the
interview process to be sure that you are covering all of the important
information, such as the training process, the kit and plan choices, the
subscription/technology fee, etc.
As you listen, pay attention to “green flags” that your prospect is interested in a change in
her life. If your potential recruit seems to get excited or passionate about something that
she mentions to you, show a genuine interest! Ask her to tell you more about that –
because she will enjoy talking about her situation, and if she is comfortable enough to share
things with you about her life, she will feel “closer” to you. This can be the beginning of
building a relationship between you and this person.
When you believe that you understand what your prospect wants in a business
opportunity, ask her if she has any questions.
Decision Time
You are looking for signs that your prospect “can see herself in the picture.”
When you hear the words, “When I…” from your prospect, you know she is ready.
Don’t continue interviewing, just sign her up and begin her training! When you
sense she is ready, try saying, “I think we can both see that we’ve got a great
match. Shall we get you signed up so we can begin your training?”
When she says “Yes!” utilize the Recruiting Instapack to provide her with all the
information she needs to make a well informed decision about joining your team! The
Recruiting Instapack comes in an Athena’s folder and includes:
Before your new recruit signs up online to purchase their kit and registers for training we
highly recommend she observe at least one (1) of your parties from a “Goddess’
viewpoint”. Observing a party from this perspective also gives the potential Goddess a
chance to see parties from a different angle before committing financially. If the potential
recruit has either attended or hosted several parties, proceed to the next step.
This response is normal! Many people have never had a home-based business
before, so a sense of insecurity is natural. Just respond: “Lots of successful Goddesses
felt exactly the same way before they got started! You’ve got nothing to lose by trying.
Only three things can happen and all of them are good:
If your prospect is not interested, find out if you can stay in touch.

Your goal is to find out the question at the heart of the concern.
Respond to any concern with this simple beginning. The beautiful thing about an
Athena’s business is it CAN be anything your prospect wants it to be!
Here’s an example:

to get started and show a profit after one or two parties. If I can show
you how, do you think this is something you’d enjoy doing?” Be sure

If your prospect says, “No,” it doesn’t necessarily mean “never”. Ask permission to
follow up or “stay in touch”. Then record your follow up date in your contact notebook.

After your new recruit has made her informed decision to join Athena’s, it’s time to
pick out her start up kit, choose her plan and schedule training dates. All of this will
be done when she registers online at our website. You can help her with this
process, or you can instruct her to go to www.athenashn.com, click on “Become a
Goddess” and then “Join Now”. Be sure to remind her to enter your Goddess
number when it asks her who she has been working with!
Athena’s Contract

Please be sure to follow up with your new recruit to be sure that she has sent in her

NOTE: Kits are subject to changes based on additions, deletions and availability.
Start up kits are standard for each amount, include FREE paperwork, samples and
supplies and are subject to sales tax, shipping charges and a technology fee (waived for
2010). Kits are pre-paid by credit card and are shipped to the new Goddess’ home upon
receipt of the online registration and payment. Kits are non-refundable.
The recruit will receive a training confirmation email from the Training office containing
instructions and what they will need to bring and/or do. The recruiter will receive a cc of
this confirmation as well.
The Contract, Terms & Conditions, and all recruiting paperwork must be
read and reviewed by the new Goddess before registering online for
training. If your recruit has any questions, issues or concerns that you can’t answer,
you should contact your up line, and then if necessary, the office, to get answers so they
can be addressed before training. The contract will not be reviewed during training.

For every $3000 a new recruit reaches in retail sales, which include, party orders,
individual orders, supply orders, and web sales (kit purchase excluded) - within their first
60 calendar days following classroom/phone training, you will receive a free “Butterfly
Vibe!!”
For every new recruit that recruits a new Goddess** within their first 60 calendar days
following classroom/phone training, you will receive a free “Adult Toy Chest” when the
recruit qualifies!

Monthly Reporting
Once you have a recruit in your down line, there is a monthly Recruiter Report that you
can fill out and return to the office no later than the 10th of each month. There is a copy
of this report on the website under downloadable forms. Instructions for filling it out and
FAQ’s are included below. If you should have any questions on how to prepare this
paperwork, please contact your recruiter as they are also required to complete this
report.

Q. When should I start contacting my team members for their monthly figures?
A. Calls and emails to your recruits should not be made just for figures. Remember to
contact them at other times to check on their business! As a general guide, you should
begin contacting them on the last business day of the month. Give yourself plenty of
time for a response. Calling numerous times on the 10th will create stress! Your down-
line should never feel like the only time you call them is for the numbers.
Number of Parties Held: # of parties they had and submitted in the previous calendar
month (for example in June you will be looking back at May’s numbers.)
Avg. Party Total: Total sales for the month divided by # of parties held.
Avg. Customer Ticket: Average party sales divided by Average # of guests at the parties.
Upcoming Party Lineup: What do they have planned for this month? How many parties?
Business Goal for the Month: What do they want to achieve and the things they will do to
achieve that goal. Please, no personal life goals here. For example, goal is to increase
party sales. The things she will do are making a package and offer it to every customer.
Number of Recruit Leads: How many potential new distributors does she have in the
wings?
New Direct Recruit Names: Names of those who have recently entered into or completed
the AHN training process.
2. Share the information you compile with your team members: “Our team had X
number of cancellations last month. Let’s see if we can get that number down. Who has
ideas to share?”
3. Monitor each person’s projected monthly totals: When a team member goes above
their goal number, give them recognition or small prize.
4. Check back with down-line to see where they are with new recruits: Do they need
help? Be sure to offer your assistance!
5. Recognize the person with the highest avg. ticket sale: Have that team member
share their tips with the rest of the team.
6. When calling your down-line, remind them of last month’s goals: See how they are
progressing and offer praise or assistance. They will be thrilled that you remembered!
7. Find out who needs more bookings: Swing parties or give them ideas to get more
bookings. Remind them to go to the swing site. This helps you keep people active (to
benefit your bottom line) and keeps them from being discouraged or frustrated (and creates
a harmonious relationship.)
9. Stay in touch with inactive distributors: Remind them of the reasons they joined the
company. When you have exact numbers you can confidently say, “Remember when you
used to earn $ ____ a night with Athena’s and had fun doing it? Why would you ever stop?”
10. Plan your own success: Know what you would like to earn, how close you are to your
goal, and how each member is doing. Whatever you want is yours and the report makes the
map for your prosperity!
Team Meetings
As a leader, we encourage you to hold team meetings. Meetings can be held in person
or by teleconference. Athena’s strongly encourages you to hold meetings and to stay in
touch with your team via phone and email. You and your team members can discuss
whether your meetings should be live or via teleconference (check out
www.freeconferencecall.com or do a search on “free teleconferencing”), monthly,
weekly, etc. You can do a meeting WITH your team leader – as long as you present at
least one topic at the meeting you are welcome to put together your own version of the
meeting minutes, listing YOUR team members who attended and focusing on what you
and they discussed.
Once you have held your meeting, please submit your meeting minutes to
meetingminutes@athenashn.com so that you will receive credit for the meeting.
Meetings count toward our annual Esteemed Circle of Leadership Awards Dinner and
Breakfast! Qualifying meeting minutes must include the following:

List of attendees (including all team members who are there or who where on the
call)
Topics discussed
Some detailed information regarding the discussion on each topic
If you schedule a meeting and no one attends, you are still able to submit meeting
minutes – however, they must include the dates that you contacted your team members
to let them know about the meeting (including phone messages, emails, in person
conversations, etc.) and the agenda of what was to be discussed along with the date
that the meeting was scheduled for and your name and Goddess number.
Coaching calls do NOT count as team meetings; therefore, please do NOT submit
minutes from coaching calls. Coaching calls are calls that are done one-on-one with
team members to assist them with a particular topic (such as getting more bookings,
running specials and promotions, etc.). Athena’s encourages all leaders to offer
coaching calls to their team members to encourage open dialogue and to let team
members know that their leader is there to support them.
As for the format of your meetings, that’s up to you! You are able to decide the format
and content of your team meetings to suit your team. Please speak with YOUR team
leader for some pointers/ideas. As a GENERAL guideline, you may want to include:
A few minutes for introduction that will let each team member know what to
expect from the meeting
Updates, news, and reminders
Welcome any new team members and introduce them to your team if this is their
first meeting
Team recognition (honor those who are doing well with sales, recruiting, booking,
or who are showing improvement)
Training on a topic relevant to your Athena’s business
A second training topic
A motivational piece – including a team “challenge”
Information regarding the next meeting, including topics and guests
Get your team members involved! Team members who are asked to speak at one of
your meetings are usually honored and will most likely be there! Whether it’s a skill or
topic that they’re successful at or something that will require them to do some research,
everyone will benefit. It’s helpful to have other people speaking at your meetings – not
just you all the time. You can invite Goddesses from other teams to be a guest speaker
for your meetings…most would be thrilled to contribute!
Be sure to let your team members know when the meeting will start and ask them to be
there or call in a few minutes early. Be clear about how long the meeting will take, and
be respectful of their time. Don’t let your meeting turn into a gripe session…do your best
to keep things positive while addressing any challenges or concerns that arise. Keep
meetings fun and informative and they’ll keep coming back!
You will learn more about running your team meetings and becoming a leader in your
required “Levels of Leadership” classes. You will be sent a 1st recruit letter by e-mail
from the Training Department outlining available dates of the class and what is expected
of you as a leader. Please note you are required to take the first class within 60 days of
your new recruit’s 2nd training class.

Registering Your Recruit

If your new recruit is registering themselves, and they have forgotten your Goddess Number
or the Goddess Number they entered is incorrect, they can type in the recruiters Last Name
to perform a search and the name of the Recruiter will appear.
** When your recruit receives their kit, there will be a package inside marked
“TIME SENSITIVE MATERIAL, PLEASE OPEN IMMEDIATELY”. This package
will include the Distributor Agreement, the Terms and Conditions, the Credit Card
Authorization Form, W-9 form and a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope,
with a letter explaining what to do with the above forms.
**It is imperative that we receive the above items back from your recruit within 30
days of their second training class or they will be shut off from the website **

After the recruit has completed all nine steps of the “Join Now” process they will receive a
“Congratulations!” email. See example below. This will let them know that their kit order
and registration has been received by the Home Office.
As you begin your new Athena’s business, it is important to stay organized so that you can
best serve your customers and run your home based business. The following are some

This is based on each individual’s tax situation. It varies for each individual. Your

tax advisor.

1099 MISC
Freedom Goddesses
At the end of the year you will receive a 1099 Form from Athena’s which will indicate how much
you earned in Commissions income as well as Gifts and Awards. Simply give this 1099 to your
accountant with your receipts for expenses.
Independent Goddesses
At the end of the year you will receive a 1099 Form from Athena’s which will indicate how much
you purchased as well as Gifts and Awards.
Independent Plan Goddesses are entitled to full or partial tax reimbursement in certain situations
such as where you sell items at a sale or discounted price, you conduct parties in a state with a
different or no tax rate, or you make sales in a jurisdiction that has a different tax rate from the one
which you were taxed. In these situations, customer invoices detailing these transactions need to
be submitted for reimbursement.
Tax Reimbursement Guidelines are explained in the next few pages and also are available for
download from our website www.athenshn.com if you wish to apply for a reimbursement at any
time during the course of your business.
Independent Goddesses
Athena’s distributors are entitled to full or partial tax reimbursement in certain situations. In
situations where you sell items at a sale or discounted price, you conduct parties in a state with a
different or no tax rate, or you make sales in a jurisdiction that has a different tax rate from the one
which you were taxed, you are entitled to a partial or full tax reimbursement. In these situations,
customer invoices detailing these transactions need to be submitted for reimbursement.
If a distributor makes a sale at a retail price lower than the suggested retail price which they
were charged tax, the distributor can request partial reimbursement of tax previously paid
provided the distributor submits a copy of the customer invoice to Athena’s showing
the price of the merchandise sold. For example, you are a distributor in Massachusetts
(Sales Tax Rate 6.25%) and you sell Pure Instinct cologne at 2 for $35 (Tax of $2.19) you
were charged tax on the retail sales price of $52 for the 2 items (Tax of $3.25). In order to
receive your reimbursement of $1.06, you must submit the customer invoices showing the
sale of the two (2) Pure Instinct colognes at $35 and the $2.19 tax that was charged to the
final customer.
If a distributor makes sales outside of the state and collects that state’s appropriate tax for
the jurisdiction of delivery and sale, the distributor can request partial reimbursement of tax
previously paid provided the distributor submits a copy of the customer invoice(s) to
Athena’s showing the out-of-state tax rate and location where the merchandise was
shipped. For example, you are a MA distributor and you are charged 6.25% sales tax on
all of your orders. You pay the 6.25% MA sales tax on your orders; however, you conduct
some parties in New Hampshire where there is no sales tax. Your NH customers are NOT
to be charged any sales tax. In order to receive your reimbursement of taxes that you paid,
you must submit the customer invoices showing the NH Sales Tax (0%) that was charged
to each customer.
Another example, you are a RI distributor and you are charged 7% sales tax on your
orders. You conduct some parties in CT (6% sales tax) you are entitled to a 1% tax
reimbursement on these CT sales provided you submit the customer invoices showing the
6% CT sales tax charged to each customer
On the other hand, if you are a CT distributor and you make sales into RI you must charge
and collect the 7% RI Sales Tax and remit the additional 1% tax and customer invoices to
Athena’s so that we can report and remit this tax to the State of Rhode Island on the next
tax return. Any taxes that are being remitted for payment to a state agency should be made
payable to Athena’s Home Novelties, Inc.
If a distributor makes sales in a location that has a different tax rate than the one where
merchandise was delivered to the distributor, the distributor can request partial
reimbursement of tax previously paid provided the distributor submits a copy of the
invoice to Athena’s showing the tax rate charged on the merchandise sold.
For example, you are a NY distributor and you are charged 8.25% on your orders because
you live in Albany County. You make sales in NY, but the sales are made in Ulster County
which taxes at a rate of 7.25%. You apply the Ulster County tax rate of 7.25% to orders
placed at that party. In order to receive your partial reimbursement of taxes paid, submit
the customer invoices showing the sales made at the lower tax rate than you were charged.
In this example, you will be reimbursed the 1% tax difference.
Conversely, if you make sales into a jurisdiction that has a higher tax rate, you must submit
the customer invoices showing the sales made at the higher tax rate along with the
additional sales tax collected. For example, the Albany NY distributor (taxed at 8.25%)
makes sales at a party in Utica city in Oneida County. The tax rate for this location is
9.75%. The distributor should charge the 9.75% tax and submit the additional 1.5% tax on
items sold at this party along with all customer invoices showing the sales made at the
higher 9.75% tax rate. The additional tax will be reported and submitted on the next New
York State sales and use tax return. Any taxes that are being remitted for payment to a
state agency should be made payable to Athena’s Home Novelties, Inc.
The Tax Reimbursement Form should be completed for the following situation:
If a distributor uses merchandise for personal use or for use in demonstration, the distributor
can request partial reimbursement of the tax based upon the difference of the suggested retail
sales price and the price the distributor would be charged for the merchandise. The distributor
is asked to complete the Tax Reimbursement Form for Personal/Demonstrative Use
Items for reimbursement. For example, you use a tube of Vanilla Pleasure Wipes, a Sugar
Cookie Shea Butter, and a Pineapple Kiwi Shea Butter during your demonstration. You also
give away a Happy Heart Massager Pair as part of a promotion. Because these items were all
used for demonstrations purposes, you should have been charged tax on the cost price of these
items and not the retail sales price. (Please note: You are to be charged tax on these products
because you are the final consumer of the product even though the item(s) was given away or
used for business purposes).
In order to receive reimbursement of the difference in tax, complete the Tax Reimbursement
form listing the items that you used for demonstration or gave away for free. If possible, please
list the original invoice number from which these items appeared and taxes were paid. Once
the form is received, you will be reimbursed tax for the difference in the retail sales price (which
you were taxed on and paid with your order) and the cost price.
We are asking that all tax reimbursement forms and/or customer invoices be sent collectively on

The first step in exploring the G-spot is to be in a relaxed state. At Athena’s, we know

For those just beginning their G-spot journey, it is very hard to have G-spot orgasms
through intercourse alone. Doing some exploration with finger stimulation or toys is a
great way to train the body to have G-spot orgasms, which will make having them

To access the G-spot through finger stimulation, have her lie down with knees bent and
feet flat on the bed. A small pillow underneath the buttocks is often helpful, as it shortens

side. Get your partner to tell you when you stimulate the right spot. It will swell and firm
like the erectile tissue in a penis.

No matter what you are using to find your G-spot, continue to use more pressure as you
become more relaxed. When you hit the G-Spot you’ll know! You will feel an immediate
need to urinate. If you’ve already voided your bladder before beginning, continue to
stroke this spot. Although it may feel a bit uncomfortable at first, you’re in the right
place.
If you haven’t voided your bladder, take a moment to do this now and resume your
exploration. (The reason you feel this discomfort is because your G-Spot is in close
proximity to your urethra. As your G-Spot swells upon stimulation, it will press your

If space allows in the demonstration room you can allow your guests to experience the

restraints to show how secure they are to the sheet. You can also cover their eyes with

Lastly show the guests that you can escape from a Sportsheet if you need to. Take the

Doing two or more Home Parties a week is actually easier than doing fewer
parties. Why? You get good at it! You don’t have to think about every step.
You get lots of good ideas from your customers, and you practice your business
skills and gain confidence.
Success is No Accident
Using your influence before, during and after the party has a big impact on your results. You
influence the enthusiasm of your Hostess, the number of guests who attend, the size of the
orders and the number of bookings and recruiting leads. One successful party leads to another.
A Quick Summary
Set the date using your Open Dates sheet so you work when you want.
Book in close. The closer the party is booked, the simpler it is for you and your Hostess.
Give your Hostess her Hostess Packet as soon as she sets her date. Start coaching
right away while her excitement is high.
Find out what your hostess wants. Write her wish list in the Hostess Brochure and do
the math for her. Show her what it takes to get what she wants FREE!
Help her develop her guest list. The Hostess usually doesn’t realize how many people
she knows! She just thinks of the people she sees every day. When you help her invite
from different groups, it increases attendance – so sales, bookings and recruiting
prospects increase too.
Encourage her to invite each guest personally and ask, “Are you available?”
Explain that only 1/3 of the people she invites will probably be able to attend so that she
won’t be disappointed when friends say, “No.”
If you are mailing the invitations, ask the Hostess to send you the complete guest
list within three days. When you have the entire guest list with names and phone
numbers, you have a wealth of prospects to which you can offer your services.
Encourage guests to bring a friend. Some people are much more comfortable if they
can walk in with someone else. These friends open whole new circles of influence. You
may want to have a “bring a friend (or three) and get a gift” program.
Keep in touch with your Hostess. As your relationship builds, so will your Hostess’
commitment to having a successful party.

Charge your cell phone in case of emergency and to obtain credit card authorization.
Always leave the location of your party with someone (spouse, parent, or friend) in case of
emergency.

Set to Begin
So let’s talk about how to make sure it’s fun and professional. When you act like a professional,
people will treat you like a professional.
Prepare yourself mentally as you’re on the way to the party. Try listening to motivational
materials. Be sure to review the titles in the Learning Resource Center. There are
booking/recruiting CD’s that will gear you up for your presentation.
Arrive early so you have time to talk to your Hostess before the guests arrive. If she’s a
little nervous, you can reassure her. When you arrive at the party, bring just your briefcase
to the door. When inside, ask the hostess where the ordering room will be. As you walk
through the house, without being obvious, check the other rooms for children. Also, ask the
hostess if there are any children present. Remember you cannot by Law bring in your
demo items until all children have left the premises! If a guest comes to the party with
a child, take the hostess aside and calmly explain you’re sorry, but either the child or you
needs to leave. Do not, under any circumstances, raise your voice or make anyone feel
uncomfortable! If the child can’t leave, ask the hostess when she would like to reschedule.
While you’re setting up, ask your Hostess if she has any questions about the business
opportunity. “Now is a good time to ask me any questions you may have about becoming
an Athena’s Goddess. This party could be a Starter Party for your business and you could
take all the bookings! Is there anything you’d like to know?”
Warmly greet the guests as they arrive and build rapport. Ask, “How do you know
_________ (the Hostess)?” Concentrate on listening to the conversation. You will hear
“green flags” about what individuals need and want so that you can offer your services.
Encourage your Hostess to share refreshments when the guests arrive. Refreshment
time is a good opportunity to get to know people while you are not busy with your
demonstration, and with the hostess getting her guests settled early, you can start your
show on time.
Step 1: Introductions
Begin on time! It’s a courtesy to your Hostess and her guests. The introductions take just a few
minutes and set the tone for the party.
Have your hostess introduce you. All great public speakers get introduced and an Athena’s
Goddess is no different!
Thank your Hostess for inviting you into her home. This night is all about your hostess and
her guests. This is a great time to give your hostess her gift. (Freedom Goddesses remember
the $10.00 Hostess Gift is added into the Hostess’ credits by the website. Anything that you
decide to give is above and beyond the $10.00 gift.)
Introduce yourself as an Athena’s Goddess. Describe your three services. “I’m very proud of
the three services I have to offer. Tonight you’ll be able to purchase Athena’s products. My
Hostesses receive fabulous free products for getting their friends together. And my favorite
service is offering people the chance to do what I do because I just love it!”
Explain the actual nature of “Adult Novelties.” You may be surprised how many people think
you simply sell joke gifts! It’s best to mention the products at the beginning so no one is
surprised later on!
Explain the Hostess incentives and how they can book their own party.
Give the guests a brief overview of the party. Explain that you will do a demonstration
followed by confidential ordering. No one will know what items are purchased and names
and addresses are never sold or given to other companies.
Let your guests know of any special sales or promotions you’re offering and that future orders are
always welcome. Be sure to explain your personal website. Let them know that this is another
service for them to order from the privacy of their own home.
Have guests fill out the order form. Assure them the information provided is for your use only. If
they choose to be on the mailing list, they should check off the mailing list option at the bottom of
the form.
Advise the guests of the S & H fees and how they will receive their orders.
Let your guests know what payment methods are acceptable. If they are paying by check, you’ll
need to see a valid driver’s license or State ID. There is a $25.00 fee for any check returned for
any reason.
There are no refunds and all sales are final, therefore, guests need to make their choices
carefully. All motorized devices have a 30-day product replacement guarantee for

Have the guests turn to the wish list at the back of the catalog and encourage them to write down
the products they’re interested in purchasing as you demonstrate them.

you ready? Before I begin, I would like to thank our hostess (name) for hosting a party this evening.

tonight. If you like what you see and you are interested in hosting a party, I would be more than happy
to schedule one with you after the show.”

one of these tasteful and educational parties before? No one? Well then, let me tell you what we are
going to do...first I will be showing you several items from our extensive product line so you can see,

Take a few minutes to write down what you would say as your opening segment for your parties. Be
sure to cover the “basics”. After you have your opening complete, practice in front of your family,
friends, and even in front of a mirror to get comfortable!
Most Goddesses hand out catalogs, order forms, writing utensils and erasers (a special gift just for
coming) just before beginning their actual demo. The erasers are a great icebreaker! You can
simply ask which color each guest would like, or mix a bunch of them up in a basket or satin bag
and let the guests pick! You can tell the guests that the only items you would like back at the end of
your demonstration are the pens and/or pencils and you’d appreciate it if they would put the
erasers on the end of them during the demonstration. That way they’ll have something of their own
to chew! Remember not to leave the basket out or all your erasers will be gone!
Step 2: Presentation
So what’s next...? The products of course! And so many products there are! It’s very important
that the flow of your demo makes logical sense to you. We have hundreds of products in our line;
therefore, this may seem like an impossible task to accomplish! With this in mind, we’ve created a
few steps that should make the whole process a little easier.
Step 1: Take all of the products you received in your kit and lay them out on a flat surface (the
bed, table, floor or wherever is convenient and safe for you at the moment). Wow! Look at all that
fun stuff that you now own! Before we go any further, we encourage you to test and try out as
many of our products as you can so that you have a true understanding of them. Be professional!
Never say, “When I used this, it did (that)”.
**PLEASE NOTE: You can not test and try out the same toys that you will be using in
your demo! It would be a safety hazard not only for you, but also for your guests! The lotions
may be sampled by putting some in a separate container for personal use, but never the toys!
Step 2: Separate the products into groups, or categories, based on what you think are similar or
belong together. These should be basic categories like bath products, massage products, lotions,
toys, cuffs and so on. You may also want to choose what you would like your “Grande Finale” item
to be.
Step 3: Think about the categories of products (not the detail items) and imagine that you have 24
hours (or maybe 48 depending on your kit size!) in which to use all of these products. Now,
arrange the categories into the order that you would use them. Again, don’t get caught up in the
details here, just the categories. Would bathing be first so you’re nice and squeaky clean, or would
it be last to clean up? What makes sense to you?
Step 4: Now, look at your categories, one at a time, and put the items in the order you would use
them during that wonderful 24-48 hour period. While you are arranging the items within their
respective categories, notice which items are very similar. If items are similar, you can demo one
item and simply refer to the others. Let your guests know that most of the other items are available
for tasting, touching and feeling in the ordering room after the show for those who are interested.
Keep in mind, your demo should only be about 1 to 1-1/2 hours long. It is also recommended you
demo the best of the best in our product line so that guests identify our name with the highest
quality products available. This, of course, will help you get higher sales!
Once you have narrowed your demo down to about 20-25 items, list all the items on the chart on
the following pages. Now, write down the key points that you want to cover about each of those
items. You may find it helpful to actually take the items out of their packaging and hold them while
you think about what you want to say. You may also want to refer back to the product’s specific
information for ideas.
Remember, the manual is your first, and best reference! Some Goddesses make a little chart
by putting the product names along the left side. Across the top they make columns for Product
Purpose; How will this make sexual encounters better; How to Use and Price. This helps them
cover all the information they want at their parties. Or making “cheat labels” for each item you
demo - on each label put the flavors, price, size, if water soluble or edible, and any allergy alerts.
When you’ve completed your list, check to make sure these key areas are covered:

have a sure sale and know your customer will be happy.
Once you have decided which items you are going to demo at your parties, you will need
something in which to transport them. When making the decision on what type of containers to
purchase, you first must think about the flow of your presentation and what kind of “look” you want
to portray. Plastic bins are inexpensive, sturdy and available in many sizes, but this may not be
the “look” you’d like to have when entering your hostess’ home. Many Goddesses use the plastic
bins, while many others use luggage sets with rollers for easier movement, baskets, seasonal
buckets, pails and beach bags. You may also find that throughout your business career you will
change your containers as well as your entire demo!

Some Goddesses choose to have different containers for the different categories of their demo.
For example, some have one container for the “bath & waterproof” segment, another for the
“massage & relaxation” segment, yet another for the “toy segment” and finally one for the “grand
finale segment”. The separation helps build anticipation among the guests!
After you’ve purchased your containers, you’ll need to determine how to place the items and in
what order you want demo them. It’s best to choose something that has easy access and will keep
everything organized (to a degree!) so your demo flows without interruption.
Always remember basic product handling procedures...keep bottles upright and don’t put too much
weight on top of the toys! You should be able to find containers at your local department, craft, or
hardware stores.
When purchasing your containers, keep in mind that you’ll also need something to carry your
catalogs, order forms, pens, calculator, flyers and any printed materials you’d like to bring. Most
Goddesses have an expandable briefcase that they just swing over their shoulder. This helps
keep all these items together for easy access.
Be sure to keep your demo items clean and fresh looking at all times. Guests will be quickly turned
off by dirty toys and lotions! Always be sure to clean the caps and outside of your lotion bottles so
no hardened product collects around the rims. It’s a good idea to have a package of wipes in your
demo kit so you can clean the toys as they are returned and before you put them away. This also
saves time from having to clean the toys between parties.
Batteries should be removed from the toys between parties to avoid draining them. It’s
embarrassing to show a product at a party and have 30 guests anticipating seeing it in action, then
turn it on and NOTHING...dead batteries! Turns that grand finale into a grand flop!
Many Goddesses keep their demo toys in silk bags. You can make these or you can purchase
wine bags for this purpose. Most of our toys will fit nicely into the wine bags and it’s a great way to
store them in your demo containers. Taking the toys out of their original packaging makes it easy
for you to keep them clean and also saves lots of room in your containers. You will be amazed at
how many items you can fit into a small container when you remove the packaging! These bags
also help you keep track of your demo items as they circulate throughout the party. If you are
finished with your demo, have put all of your demo items away but still have an empty bag, you
know there is still an item circulating the room. You can simply ask the guests if they see the item
that belongs in that bag. This is a nice way of bringing their attention to your knowledge of an item
gone missing.
You can replace and add new items to your demo at any time. The more variety you show at your
parties, the more you will sell. With the intimate nature of our product line it’s very important that a
guest be able to see, touch, taste and smell as many products as possible in order to make the
best choice.
It’s also a good idea to change the items you show at parties from time to time. You will often work
with customers who book parties from one another. To show the same items at each party would
not be to your advantage. Each time you order supplies, such as catalogs and order forms,
consider ordering a new item for your demo.
Demo Decor
Some Goddesses like to follow the company theme of The Greek Goddess image. They use
plants (synthetic vines) to decorate their demo baskets and ordering room. Others change decor
depending on the time of year or the approaching holidays. It is entirely up to you if you decide to
do any extra decorating at all. It is not required, however it certainly adds to the atmosphere.
Remember: keep all receipts for tax purposes! Here are a few ideas to help get your own creative
mind buzzing...
Spring time decor - Use synthetic vines and flowers to simulate the growing beauty that is
awakened in nature every spring after the cold winter thaw. Have them intertwined within your
demo containers.
Summer time decor - Use anything beach-like (beach balls, sand pails, beach toys, beach towels
etc.) or representative of a holiday cookout. This time of year it’s great to spray a bit of the Body
Dew on before your shows to familiarize your guests to the scent as well as all of the wonderful
uses!
Fall time decor - Try any synthetic colored leaves and vine colored plants to bring the beauty of
the fall foliage right into your party and ordering rooms! Take several leaves and mix them into
your demo to simulate the effect of pulling items from a large pile of leaves. You could even be
creative with your clothing for Halloween in the month of October. Some Goddesses alternate
between several different costumes for their parties throughout the month! Try doing some of your
demo out of a plastic pumpkin or cauldron.
Winter time decor - Use synthetic snow and/or white snow blankets to give your demos the feel of
a romantic, beautiful, snowy winter night. You could even use general holiday decor. Signs that
read “Happy Holidays” or “Season’s Greetings” are typically safe. Try doing your demo out of a
stocking or box wrapped like a present in holiday paper. You may want to look into a “Holiday
outfit” of some sort to wear at your parties, or perhaps wear glittery outfits to help set a fun,
positive, festive mood. As you may already know, the time just before and just after the Holidays
can be a most stressful time of year for some people. Our parties are just the way to help people
relax and enjoy themselves.
**Remember - you can always decorate your invitations (and other paperwork) accordingly as well
to help build the enthusiasm from the beginning! Plan at least a month or two ahead of time so you
can mail out the correct corresponding materials.
These are only a few of the endless decor ideas that you can use. Sit back, relax, and let your
own mind take you where it wants you to go! And most of all...have a great time!
Step 3: Wrap Up
As you are packing up your demo items to head into the ordering room, tell your “Why
Story”.
Your why story should be told in the middle or close to the end of your presentation.
Hand out Customer Care Cards and say something like the following. “Thank you so
much for coming this evening. We’ve had a lot of fun together. This is my business
and I take it very seriously, so I’d love you to take a moment to fill out this card. It
will help me provide ongoing service for all your Athena’s products needs. ”
Ask the guests to fill out their name, address, phone number and e-mail
address. “Please write down the best number and time to reach you.”
Walk the guests through each question. Asking for this information at the end
of your presentation when they have gotten to know you means they will be
comfortable answering the questions.
Collect the Customer Care Cards. Quickly scan the cards before you move to
the ordering room to begin taking orders. They will provide many booking and
recruiting “green flags.” Customer Care Cards provide the perfect tool for
identifying interest and offering ongoing service to your customers.
Note that not everyone will come into your ordering room. Having a customer
care card from each of the party guests is a great way for people to still be able
to book parties at your show.
Freedom Goddesses
Remind each guest that their order will be sent to their Hostess’ home from
Athena’s warehouse within 14 business days, and that each order is individually
packaged for their privacy. Also inform the guest that if any items they are
ordering are currently on backorder, the back order will be sent directly to their
address (not to the hostess) when it becomes available.
Independent Goddesses
Know what items are in which bin and have your bags ready to go! This will help
keep the ordering process moving, which everyone will appreciate!
When filling an order, first make a pile of the items to purchase away from the
main display area. Then, once the items have been selected, fill out the order
form and give the guest the total. While they are getting their payment together,
check the items that need batteries and then double check the order, item by
item, while putting them into the brown bag.
Once the order, catalog, business card and whatever else you would like them to
have is in the bag, fold over the top and give them the bag as they are walking
out the door. This way there is no confusion and no opportunity to do any “extra”
shopping of the “free kind!”
Independent Goddesses will need an efficient and easy to understand system to
show customers what they are taking home with them the night of the party and
what will be shipped to them within 14 business days. Please keep in mind that
the party guests may be drinking or may go out after the party. The may “forget”
what they received that evening. One way to do make this clear is to put a check
mark next to anything that they are taking with them and circle the SKU # of any
items that will be shipped. Review the items that they are taking home with them
and show the customer that you are “checking off” those items they have
received. Let them know that when they receive the remainder of their order by
mail, they will be getting any items that are circled on the order form. This helps
to ensure that they do not call you weeks later stating that they are still waiting for
something that you gave them the night of the party!
All Goddesses
Be sure to thank them and let them know you appreciate their purchase. Ensure
them that you are available in the event of a question. Try to call them by their
first name as you bid them farewell.
When re-packing your demo and/or inventory, be sure that everything is locked
up and wrapped up tight, and again, keep your doors locked when you are not at
the car. Also, keep your money with you at all times, or lock it up in the car on
the first trip!
Your safety, financial security and your Hostess’ feelings are of the utmost
importance. Always be safe and smart! As you are taking each guest’s order in
the ordering room, you have a perfect opportunity to talk with each guest about
booking a party and/or exploring the business opportunity. As you work with
each guest one-on-one, you will continue to build rapport.
Booking ideas:
Offer every guest the opportunity to book a party. When you hand your guest their
completed order form, also hand her your Open Dates sheet with a pencil and say, “You
really seemed to enjoy yourself. Why not invite a few friends in for a party and get lots of
free things for yourself? Take a look at my Open Dates…if one of them works for you,
just pencil in your name and number next to the date.”
Booking boosters: Wrap up a small gift in shiny paper and let your guests know that
the first two people that choose a date from your Open Dates sheet will get an extra
thank-you gift.
Recruiting ideas:
Offer every guest the opportunity to take business information. Don’t pre-judge
who will be interested. “I don’t know if there is anything about what I do that looks
interesting to you, but I’d like to invite you to find out more. If I give you some
information, would you look at it?”
Comment on what you have seen or heard that leads you to believe a guest may be
interested. “I noticed that…” or “I heard you mention…” Then say, “I think you might
enjoy doing what I do because ________________. If I give you some information,
would you take a look?” Schedule a time to get together/talk in the next 24-48 hours.
“This contains some general information. Tomorrow, we’ll talk about how the business
might fit in your life.”
Your Paperwork
Send a short, hand-written thank you note to your Hostess immediately. Mention
something specific about her party (i.e. how nice her friends were).
Contact your Hostess about five weeks after her party to see if she is pleased with her
merchandise. She will thoroughly appreciate your follow-up. Your conversation may
result in a referral, a re-booking or recruit interest.
Keep all lotions, potions, liquids, gels and sands in an upright position when you
store your demo containers. It only takes one time to have them leak in a Hostess’
home to learn the lesson the hard way!
Keep all lotions & toys out of extreme heat and cold! Many actually change
consistency and force their way out of their container. This will give you quite the
surprise when you reach for them! Some may have their effectiveness reduced.
This extreme temperature situation refers to leaving your demo in the car on a hot
summer day, or on a cold winter night. The toys may actually freeze and then thaw
out, causing them to “sweat” (you know how hot it gets with our toys!). This
moisture may be just enough to damage the fragile insides!
Be careful not to stack too many products on top of each other, or throw them into
your demo bins. The weight, or jostling, may damage their fragile insides.
Toys were made to withstand only what a vagina can do to them. Since most
vaginas can’t bend toys in 1/2, bending your toys may break them! Tell your guests
this, too.
Batteries should not be left in toys for long periods of time or between parties
(more than a day or two). This is for two main reasons:
o 1) The batteries wear out more quickly if left inside. Sometime the
slightest movement turns the toys on very low! You may not even know
one is on and before long the batteries will be dead!
o 2) The batteries can and may explode when left inside the toys. This
makes a big mess, and will destroy the toy, costing you $$$$.
Wash your demo toys every 4-5 parties (or more if you like) to keep them looking
and feeling like new! Who wants to see and touch a toy that is filthy dirty? Would
you buy a product that way? All you need is some hot water and antibacterial soap
or use Mighty Tidy Toy Cleaner to take care of your toys. Or better yet, keep a
bottle of Mighty Tidy Toy Cleaner in your kit so you can clean the toys before you
put them away. Don’t forget to wash the “After Sex” towels after parties. These can
get pretty scary sometimes!
Healing Hands
Supplies Needed
1 jar of Manicure Miracle
Heavenly Goddess towels (1 per guest)
1 bottle of Heavenly Goddess Lotion (or more if needed)
Heavenly Goddess linen bag
Bamboo Gloves (1 per guest)
sandwich bags (2 per guest)
sampling spoons
You will need access to a sink and microwave

Before each guest takes their seat direct them to the sink designated by
hostess. At the sink, you will give them a sample of the Manicure Miracle
using the sampling spoons. Have the guests rub the product into their dry
hands and then rinse their hands at the sink. Provide each guest with a
Heavenly Goddess towel to dry their hands.
As the guests are trying Manicure Miracle you should take this opportunity
to put three squirts of the Heavenly Goddess lotion into a sandwich bag
(each guest should receive one for each hand) and microwave them for 5
seconds.
Once each guest is seated, pass out the bags with the warmed lotion.
The guests should keep their hands in these bags for about 5 minutes,
massaging their hands with the lotion during this time.
While the guests are massaging their hands. You can do your introduction
to Heavenly Goddess, thank your hostess for having you there and give
her any samples you may have purchased for her as free gifts.
Now is a great time to share your “Why Story” with the guests as well as
explain the benefits of booking a party of their own.
Next, you will have each guest remove the bags from theirs hands and
you will dispose of them.
Now it is time to hand out the Bamboo Gloves to each guest. Ask them to
keep them on until the end of the party (anywhere from 40 minutes to an
hour).
While the guests have the gloves on, do your presentation in order of the
catalog.
It is a good idea to demo one of the following so you can interact with the
crowd!
1. The Massage Mitts with lotion and a Silver Bullet along with the
Silk Eye Pillow
2. The Soy Candle and The Amazing Hot Heart Massager
3. The Happy Hearts with the Silk Eye Pillow
4. The Hitachi Magic Wand
Explain all the various Foot Care products and let the guests know that
they can host a “Sole Survivor Party” in which each guest will get to
sample the Foot Care products.
Now it is time to remove the gloves and have the guests massage the
remaining lotion into their skin.
Don’t forget to mention that any guest who spends $100 or more will
receive a FREE gift from Heavenly Goddess!
o If you are a Freedom Goddess, you will need to include the SKU #

Have each guest take a seat and provide them with a Heavenly Goddess catalog
and towel and have them remove their shoes and socks along with folding their
pants up over their calves.
You will provide each guest with a basin filled ½ ways with warm water and have
them place both feet in it.
Using a sampling spoon, put a few scoops of the Heavenly Goddess Sea Salt
Foot Soak in each basin.
While the guests are soaking their feet and relaxing, conduct your opening, thank
your Hostess for her time and for having a Heavenly Goddess Spa Party and
provide her with any samples you may have purchased for her as “free gifts”. Be
sure and talk about the incentives guests can receive for booking their own
Heavenly Goddess Spa Party.
With your sample spoons, give each guest a spoonful (one for each foot) of the
Heavenly Goddess Ginger Spice Foot Scrub (some guests may request more
than others).
Have each guest rub the product into their feet and explain this product is used
for exfoliating the dead skin and helps with the dry and cracked areas of the feet,
particularly the heels.
Now would be a good time to find out if the guests need anymore warm water. If
so have them remove their feet and add the warm water with the water pitcher.
As the guests are rubbing and soaking their feet in the basin, start the Bathing
segment of your demo. Be sure to explain all the packages that are available:
Rinse your guests feet with warm water while they hold their foot over their
basin. Have them dry off their feet with the Heavenly Goddess towel that you
had given to them earlier.
With your sampling spoons, give each guest a spoonful (one for each foot) of the
Heavenly Goddess Foot Repair Cream (some guests may request more than
others so be sure to carry extra spoons) and have them rub it into their feet
focusing on the dry/cracked areas of the feet, particularly the heels.
You will now provide each guest with a set of the Bamboo Booties.
Have each guest put on the booties and wear them for the remainder of your
presentation.
Continue with your demo going through each category in order of the catalog.
It is a good idea to demo one of the following so you can interact with the
