RE EVOLUTION

I welcome on the dais our honorable chief guest Ar. Divya Kush, President of Indian
Institute of Architects (IIA), Presently, Director, School of Architecture at Noida International University,
Member (Alt.), Council of the Union of International Architects.
Member, Board of Governors/Executive Council, School of Planning & Architecture, Delhi, Bhopal &
Vijaywada
He has been elected / nominated to various Professional institutional positions during his almost four
decades in the profession.

Guest of honor Shri Nanubhai Vanani, minister of State Education, Sports, Cultural
Activities, Water resources.
Dr. Dakshesh Thakar ,currently the Vice Chancellor of VNSGU, has been here since
2011. He is a well known scholar of gujarati literature and a author with a large
number of publications. Associated with a good number of socio-cultural
organizations.Has been awarded various awards and medals for his contribution to
literature and culture.
Dr. J. R. Mehta, Registrar of VNSGU, graduated in economics and a Phd in finance,
P.G.D in business administration. Has teaching experience of 25 years in economics
and marketing.Has published more than 10 research papers in national/international
journal.
Prof. R.D. Desai, honorable director of Architecture. An architect and Founder
chairman of the IIA surat center, has been a member of COA, New Delhi. Member of
institute of town planners, India. Has been awarded in the field of Town planning by
the rotary club of Surat in 1999 and Lions club of Surat Silk City in 2015.

It is the question of building which lies at the root of the social unrest of today;
Architecture or Revolution
This is an excerpt from Le Corbusiers book Architecture or revolution.

These terms need to be reconsidered and their relationship to be rethought. What

influence can architecture claim to have on the social media and the political? What
is the status of architecture as a force of social change? What is the link between
aesthetics and politics? Can there be a revolutionary architecture?

At the advent of the 58th year of the NASA, we look back and see how much we
have evolved, how far we have come, but we also look forward to the height we
have come, the height we can still reach to the revolution that we can be!
G.C. Patel institute of architecture, interior design and fine arts is affiliated with
VNSGU since 2011 and being a young college facilitates with all amenities and
academic activities such as workshops, RSPs, site visit and guest lectures.
Veer Narmad South Gujarat University with its motto, satyam Gyanam Anantam
has endeavored to be an institution of excellence in higher education since its
existence. Spreaded over an area of 210 acres the university has 79 grant-in aid
colleges, 146 self-financed institutions and 100 post graduates. Today we take
immense pride in making NASA convention a part of their 50 th golden jubilee
celebration.
