This course presents fundamental principle of safety and risk assessment in

chemical process industry. In particular, it emphasises on safety legislations,
inherent safety design concept, methods of hazard identification, chemical
health risk assessment and the various methods of risk assessments. At the end
of this course, it is expected that the students will be able to appreciate the
theoretical and practical aspect of occupational safety and health in chemical
process industry and also be able to use the techniques of hazard identification
and risk assessment in the design and operation of chemical plant.
