DEAR FRIENDS IN THE FAITH;

GREETINGS IN THE NAME which is above every name, the name of Jesus,

SUMMER IS NEAR, which means a busy time is at hand. We plan two separate teams on
Andros. Mr and Mrs Spencer will direct one team,Lois and myself will direct another.
This will enable us to reach more settlements with less expense and less time. Our

plans now are (the team that we will direct) to have D.V.B,S, in the morning and also
afternoon, with evangelistic services in the evenings. This will make a full day,Pray
that it will be profitable with souls for Christ,

MANY HAVE ASKED, "What is the political condition here?" In December I966, the
House of Assembly was dissolved and an election was called for January 10, I967. Race
was a strong issue in the campaign. The P.L.P,(Progressive Liberal Party) was the
only one of the three parties who had rallies. There were a few who attended the ral

lies of the other parties and started disturbances, breaking up the meetings with bot
tle throwing and taking over the loud speakers. The P.L,P. gained a majority of one
in the House of Assembly, when the lone labor party man pledged his support to the
P.L.P, government.

This made I9 to 18 in the House of Assembly.

There is now

much

talk that there will be a new election soon. The new government wants to gain a
greater majority if possible. This should prove quite interesting. We are in no dan
ger and our resident papers have been renewed for another year,
MAY THE KEYING FATIIER above bless you all as you do His divine will,
IN CHRISTIAN LOVE,

Hubert, Lois and Betty Prather

OUR NEEDS IF WE ARE TO SERVE

our Lord in an

effective way here.

We MUST have a

"Revolving Building Fund" of at least $15,000. This would be used to buy properties
and help erect buildings. This would be in the form of a loan to the
congregation.
When the local congregations are able we hope to get them to see the need of paying
into the fund to evangelize their own people. We are convinced that it is not good
just to hand things out to thera. So if we can get 100 churches to give $10,00 per
month for just 15 months, we would have the $15,000. If the 1000 who receive our
NEWSLETTER would sent $15.00 each at once, we could have this much needed money now
to carry on the work of our God. It is our prayer that all will take this to heart
and pray that this need may be met NCW,

SEND TOUR GIFT TO Mr. Ken Clark, P.O. Box I362, Eugene, Oregon 97^01. Be sure to
mark it "Revolving Building Fund." If you viould like to check the needs here, write

to Conley Silsby who just spent a weekend with us and saw the possibilities ifwe had
the funds to work with. Mr. Silsbyfe address is 101 N.W. 58th Street, Seattle, Wash,
THE REASON FOR THE HASTE is that the government will not let us buy property

and

build a church building unless it has been zoned for a church. So you see, we must
buy in development projects now available. The opportunities are fast being taken up
ty the denominational groups. We MUST act at once or the opportunities will be gonq
We want to start a congregation this year in the city of Nassau
Please help,
VISITORS ARE SO WELCOME. The fellowship was so sweet with the Silsbys,
Brother
Silsby helped us pour concrete Saturday and then went to Andros with us and preached
for the two Haitian services. It was a jcy to hear him again and for him to see the

potential of the work here.

The latch string is always outside, waiting for you to

come and pull it.

WE WILL HAVE SOME NEEDS for D.V.B.S, for this summer. Colors, pencils, scissors,
any old Straights, Jr, Life or any Bible stories. We will appreciate any and
all
help you can give to this work.

When you send anything like this, be

sure and mark

it "Bible Schools Supplies," then we will not have to pay import duty on it. Do not
insure it for they also charge on the postage. Send to Hubert Prather,P,0, Box 1674,
Nassau, Bahamas, This would have to be sent at once to do us any good this

GREETINGS IN JESUS NAME TO ALL THE SAINTS AT HOMEi

JUST WHAT IS the greatest need in the church,

the world around?

Someone would

say, "more money", and this is true.

If every church member gave the tithe and an
offering, just think what could be done for the cause of Christ. Another person will
say, "we need larger crowds."
Surely this would be wonderful and an inspiration to
the ministers.
Again someone would say, "we need more active workers," and'this is
equally true. But I believe we can sum it up in just one word, "Faithfulness."
IN WHAT ARE WE TO BE FAITHFUL?

FIRSTt

We are to be faithful in Christian living.

When you talk to a lost soul

about Christ, often he points to some unfaithful Christian and says, "If being a
Christian is being like that, no thanks, I will remain as I am."
Beloved we are to
live that they may see Jesus in us and be drawn to Him.

SECOND!

We are to be faithful in our Christian giving,

ian giving goes hand in hand with

Christian living.

Paul taught that Christ

He instructs "abound in this

grace also. II Cor. 8,

Some give because they like the minister, some to make an
impreeeion-onsomeonebut the fai-thful-0hz4.-&triangives-beoause he loves Chr-i-ei andthe souls of lost men.

THIRD; Faithfulness to the assembly Of the saints. Worship must be a cultivated

habit, not just on occassions. We need the fellowship of those of like precious faith.
We need prayers of others to be overcomers. We need the fellowship at the love feast
of the Lord. We all need to be built up in our knowledge of God's Holy Word.

Matt.

WHT SHOULD I BE FAITHFUL IN THESE THINGS?

WE WERE LOST without God, hopelessly damned but the faithful God provided a
faithful remedy for my salvation, Jesus Christ. We should be inspired to faithful
ness because such a loving Father expects it of us. "Be thou faithful unto death and
ye shall receive a crown of life." Rev. 2j10.
MAY GOD BLESS all as we together, in Christ, strive to be more faithful.

BAHAMA

CHRISTIAN
MISSION
In 1952 Hubert Prather met Bahamain migrant workers
in Minnesota. He then visited Nassau and conducted an
eight weeks meeting.

Following this Floyd Hughes began working in Nassau

to establish congregations faithful to our Master. Ten
years later the ndssionaries began a definite program
of fostering a self-reliant attitude in the work. The
first step was to instruct the people in maintaing
their own financial responsibilities realizing that
the burden would be great. To begin with they wore

asked to pay their own electric bill. Next to main

tain and improve their own facilities. The pictures
inside show the thrilling progress from the board

building paid for by U.S. Christians to the new build

ing raised by the labor and gifts of the local people.
In 1966 Brother Forbes began a work in Kemps Bay,
Andros, Both of the congregations in Nassau have con
tributed heavily toi-rard the purchase of materials to
help him build his building.

Our people will continue to grow in a responsible

way. We believe that their progress is so inspiring
that you should share in the challenge they now face.
