Analytics is a Java Component availble on the Managed Server.


It is a UI based Component whihc is available through below URL.
htpp://Machine-Name:9704/analytics.
Developers login to Analytics and Creates the below objects.
Report/Dashboards/Agents.
Users will also login to Analytics to acccess the reports created by the
reporter Developers to which they are authorized.
7. what is the Source for Analytics to create reports?
Presentation layer of the Latest RPD deployed in the BI Server is the source
for creating reports in Analytics.
8. Catalog : Catalog is a folder where Users/ developers Saves the
reports/dashboards created in analytics.
9. catalog by Default Consists of two folders :
My Folders
Shared Folders
we can create SubFolders in the above My folders/ Shared
Folders.
10.My Folders : It is w.r.to every user/Developer who logs in to Analytics where
he can save the Reports/Dashboards which he dont want to share with
others.Every UserDeveloper who logs into Analytics will have his own My
Folders.
11.Shared Folders: It is a common Folder in catalog seen by every
User/Developer who logs into Analytics.Reports/ Dashboards that needs to be
shared with other developers/Users will be saved under Shared folders.

Creating a Report in Analytics:

In the Report Creation window we have 4 Tabs:


Criteria || Results || Prompts || Advanced

Criteria Tab:
In Criteria Tab - we have 4 Panes
Subject Area
Catlog

Selected Columns
Filters

Can we create a Report from Multiple Subject Areas?

DASHBAOARDS:

My Dashboards -- It cannot be shared with Others. we can add the reports to My


Dashboard from My Folders as well as from Shared Folders.
Shared Dashboards -- It can be shared with Others. We can add the reports to
Shared Dashboard only from Shared Folders.

While we are creating a Dashboard , it will asks us under which Sub Folder of the
Shared Folders You want to Save it, so that accordingly under the Dashboards Tree
in Analytics it will be displayed.

Dashboard --> Pages -->Columns --> Sections --> In Sections we place the
reports/Dashboard Objects.
By default when we create a DSH a page will be created under it.
And when we are trying to add a report to the Dashboard, a column --> section will
be created and in the section report will be placed.

Agent :

An Agent is a analytical object that cariies a report/DSH Page/Briefing Book from


OBIEE to the External Mails/Pagers etc..
KPI -- Key Performance Indicator:

KPI will helps to track the performance of your Business by comparing the
Actual value to the target value w.r.to the dimension Attributes.

KPI -- Key Performance Indicator:


KPI Watch List is nothing but a collection of KPI's.

--> KPI Cannot be added to the Dashboard.


--> But we can create a Report out of KPI and that report can be added.
--> to create a Report out of KPI, we have to analyze the KPI.

--> To Analyze a KPI, KPI needs to be added to the KPI WatchList.
