Conservative Leaders:
Together we've labored long and hard
toward securing the future of our nation,
the character of its leadership and the
moral health of our people. And even after
winning a majority of gubernatorial races,
majorities in both houses of Congress and
leadership of the executive branch, many of us now realize that our
trust in some moderate politicos has been misplaced.

As conservative professionals, many of us are fed-up with the level of rancor and
obstruction that exists in Congress, and the dissent within the Republican Party.
With our nation's borders unsecured, fiscal restraint effectively abandoned and
judicial nominees still blocked, apparently select trustees will now be needed to
keep our “career” congressional delegates accountable.

Battle hardened by 30-years of leadership in the competitive private sector,

I offer to accept this challenge by leading with principle, leveraging conservative
policy expertise, and acting as your liaison to drive legislative consensus. After
much personal cost, overcoming a veritable media blackout, and bootstrapping
my own grassroots campaign -- I'm now positioned to stake my claim for a seat
in the Senate gallery as a conservative, independent of the two-party system.

That said, I admire Katherine Harris for her unflappable demeanor during the
2000 election, as well as her conservative values and stubborn determination to
extend her tenure in Congress. But these are the very attributes that have acted
as a “lightening rod” for liberal assaults, and rumors of possible indictment.
Unfortunately, the media circus, which has crippled her campaign, has also
created a 40-point deficit in the polls and abandonment by her own party.

Having invested so much time, talent and treasure over the last two decades to
reach a conservative tipping-point in this great nation, do we really need more
obstruction in Washington – by conceding the U.S. Senate race in Florida to a
vulnerable liberal incumbent? As a life-long Republican, I filed my candidacy
without party affiliation to circumnavigate the fractious primary process and the
ridiculous sums of money needed to run for higher office, as these conditions
would have precluded a viable opportunity to face-off against the incumbent.

Given the realities of the legislative process though (after unseating Bill Nelson),
I pledge to caucus exclusively with the Republicans to advance a conservative
agenda that will responsibly address the unmet security, solvency and sanctity
challenges confronting the nation. After considerable research and consultation,
I believe the peril we face on these fronts must be addressed in order to sustain
the American experiment. For more information on my top issues, I encourage
you to investigate my campaign further by visiting www.TannerForSenate.com .

With your support, the cause of conservativism need not suffer a setback. After
appropriate due diligence, I would ask for your endorsement in order to salvage
an opportunity to build a stronger majority in the U.S. Senate. And God willing,
I'm confident that a small percentage of committed independent conservatives
can restore political accountability to Washington and advance the “values”
voter mandate that holds the promise of reclaiming America.

Republican by any other name,

Roy J. Tanner
U.S. Senate Candidate (FL)
