1. Objectives: By the end of the lesson students will:
produce the following vocabulary items: lemon, Daiquiri, cocktail shaker, cocktail glass. Verbs:
shake.
talk and write about how to prepare a drink.

a) Warm up or Motivation

Students will be shown a picture of Moe (a Simpson character). Then, they will be asked

Do you remember him?, What does he do?, Whats Moes favourite drink?

b) Presentation of the topic:

Students will be told that Moe likes different drinks. One of them is Daiquiri.

Students will be asked to connect a network that will be created by the teacher in
advanced. Then, they will copy a PDF file in which steps of Moes Daiquiri preparation is
presented.

Through this document, students will be presented the ingredients and the steps to
prepare a Daiquiri. These steps will be in simple present: He adds sugar. Later,
students will complete a chart with these steps in passive voice. In order to do that, they
will be explained step by step how to describe them from the subject point of view (active
voice) and the object point of view (passive voice). In other words, students will be shown
that in active voice we will focus on someone who does the action, and in passive voice
we will focus on the process. In the first preparation step, student will be given the
passive sentence by the teacher while he is explaining it. In the rest of the preparation
steps, students will be asked to solve the sentences in passive voice.

c) Practice or Activities:

Students will be asked to check last homework in which the exercises are connected with
the present topic. Then, students will read their answers and the whole class will check
and correct with the teachers help.

Students will be given another PDF file in which they will complete in passive voice a
chart taking into account a Moes recipe drink. Students will do the first exercise item with
teachers help.

Students will check the exercises with the teachers help.
