Overview:
Business Process Procedure Overview

Costing must be carried out at the plant level. All costing data is stored with reference to a plant. The system uses
the results of cost estimates to valuate material movements in Logistics. Material valuation is carried out at the
valuation area level. For costing, each plant must therefore have its own separate valuation area. In BSNL model the
valuation area is one is one to the plants.
Product costing with quantity structure is followed in BSNL Telecom Factory. It is very essential to have Bill of
Material and Routing master for each manufactured material. During planning process the routing decides the
annual activity scheduled for each cost center and activity type. The activity rates are then computed based on the
cost and capacity for labour. The Product cost planned has two parts the variable cost calculated based on the bill of
material data and the fixed cost calculated by the routing data. Overhead cost will be of fixed percentage to be
loaded on material.
