General Objective:

The general objective of the study is to know about the Lending Pattern of customers of Uttara
Bank Ltd.
Specific objectives are:

To have idea regarding various types of Loan of Uttara Bank Limited.

To identify the loan sanction procedure in different sectors in last some years.

To know the loan activities of Uttara Bank Ltd. at Bhulta branch.

To identify the recovery rates of the loans in different sectors in last some years and have
a comparison among them.

To identify the problems regarding loan and give some recommendations for improving
the effectiveness and efficiency of Loan services.

The scope of the study includes the organizational structure, background and objective,
functional, and the main part covers lending pattern of UBL.
Limitations of the Report:
There were some problems while I conducting the Internship program, a whole hearted effort
was applied to bring a reliable and fruitful result, in spite of having the whole hearted effort, I
faced some limitation which acted as a barrier to conduct the program. The limitations were

The internship was based upon only Uttara bank, Uttara Branch, so the report doesnt show
all branches activity of Uttara bank in depth.

Three months time is not enough for such an extensive study. It is very difficult to collect

all the required information in such a short period.


Due to some legal obligation and business secrecy banks reluctant to provided data. For

this reason, the study limits only on the available Published data and informal interview.
The Bankers are very busy with their jobs, so I could not talk with them properly.
Lack of experience.
Learning all the banking function about lending within just three months was really
difficult.

Literature review

2.1 About the organization:


1) M/s. Alam Textile:
The proprietor of M/s. Alam Textile is Md. Alamgir Hossain. This is a manufacturing textile that
finished & normal gray cloths. The business is situated at Mortuzabad, Bhulta, Rupgong, within
industrial zone Narayangonj. It holds 21.00 decimal commercial land with building. Md. Alamgir
Hossain is doing this business for last 21 years. He has participated a training program
Marketing & Sales promotion on SME Entrepreneurship Development conducted by Ministry
of Industries. He has a strong position among his competitors.
2) Bhai Bhai Textile:
The owner of Bhai Bhai Textile is Md. Zayedul Haque Bhuiyan. This is a manufacturing textile
that finished & normal gray cloths. He is doing this business for last 24 years. The business is
situated at Mortuzabad, Bhulta, Rupgong, within industrial zone Narayangonj. It holds 26.00
decimal Com. & Agri Land with tin Shed factory Building.
3) H.P Embroidery:
The owner of H.P Embroidery is Md. Hannan Miah. This business do Embroidery works with
ultra modern machineries operated by computer software on finished clothes. It holds 10.00
decimal areas. The business is situated at Tatbazar, Bhulta, Rupgong within industrial &
commercial zone in Narayangonj. The applicant is doing this business for last 05 years. Their
present market value is TK. 99, 00,000.
4) Haque Enterprise:
The owner of Haque Enterprise is Mozammel Haque. It holds 9.77 decimal areas. Its Present
Market Value is Tk. 25, 65,000. It is aWhole Selling & Retailing dheutin, tua, moska, plain sheet
etc for local Market and all over the country. The business firm is situated at Bhulta, Rupgonj,
Narayangonj and have a good communication with the other places of Bangladesh. Mozammel
Haque is well known as an established businessman in this area. His marketing knowledge is
appreciable with high demand of the product in the market.
5) Ikbal Rice Agency:

The owner of Ikbal Rice Agency is Md. Mostofa Miah. This business Whole sells & Retails of
all kind of rice. Md. Mostofa Miah is doing this business for last 10 years. The business is
situated at Bhulta Bazaar, Bhulta, Rupgonj, Narayangonj. It holds 36.00 decimal land. Its
present market value is TK.70,20,000.
6) Jahangir Textile:
The owner of Jahangir Textile is Md. Aman ullah Miah. It holds 22.00 decimal land.
This business manufactures different kinds of grey cloth.The incumbent is doing this business for
last 11 years. The business is situated at Tekpara, within industrial zone Narayangonj. Its present
market value is TK.42, 90,000.
7) Milon Enterprise:
The owner of Milon Enterprise is Md. Milon Miah. The business firm is situated at Golakandail,
Bhulta, Rupgonj, Narayangonj and have a good communication with the other places of
Bangladesh. It holds 3.75 decimal areas. This business is a whole Seller of all kind machinery
parts at Golakandail , Bhulta Bazar, and all over the country. The business has Present Market
Value of TK. 8, 25,000.

8) Mollah Store:
The owner of Mollah Store is Md. Shaifuddin Mollah. The business is a whole Seller and retailer
of all kinds of rice, paddy, wheat etc. Md. Shaifuddin Mollah is doing this business for last 15
years. The business is situated at Barabo Bazar. Tarabo, Rupgong, Narayangonj. It holds 18.00
decimal lands. The company has Present Market Value of Tk. 52, 20,000.

9) Rafiz uddin & sons:

Rafiz uddin & sons is one of the largest power looms in this locality. The owner of the business
is Din Mohammad. The applicant is doing this business for last 21 years. This business is a
Whole Seller & Retailer of kinds of rice. It holds 24.00 decimal commercial lands. The business
is located in Murapara Bazar,Rupgonj within a very commercially important area of
Narayangonj. The company has Present Market Value of TK 2, 02, 80,000.

10) Three Star:


All sons of Late Kalai Bhuiyan is involved in Three Star company and the Managing Director of
the Company is Abdul karim Bhuiyan, Chairman of the Company Rezaul Karim Bhuiyan,
Director of the Company Md. Shahidullah Bhuiyan. The business firm is situated at Gausia
Market, Bhulta, Rupgonj, Narayangonj have a good communication with other place of
Bangladesh. This business is a Producer & wholesaler of readymade mosquito net, bag, and
mash clothes, etc. The business has a total area of 163.75 decimal and it has Present Market
Value of Tk- 168797500.

3.2 Survey Period: I worked at Uttara Bank Ltd for three months. From the beginning of the
period I started surveying my customers activity regarding taking loan.
3.3 Sample selection procedure: Among all customers who take loan from Uttara Bank Ltd. I
select 10 customers for my study.
3.4 Sample size: For preparing my report I select 10 customers.
