Do the illegal immigrants have the right to go to school in the country they
immigrate?

When immigrants come to America not only do they bring their

families they bring their culture. Culture is what has divided
people across the world and it will continue to divide people in
this country. Immigration has always been in existence in the
United States since the beginning of American History. At the turn
of the 20th century immigration has been an issue for the people
in this country. The ironic thing is that the majority of the
population has evolved from some type of immigrant. The illegal
immigrants bring their children with them as they immigrate the
US for example, and thats when the big question comes. Do the
illegal immigrants have the right to go to school in the country
they immigrate?

When people think of or hear of someone that wants to or is going to

college after high school, we generally say in our minds fantastic choice!
Good for them! When is it ever a bad thing for any person to want a
higher level of education just because they want to improve their lives?
Now, this is where a certain particular group of individuals are
condescended and denied on the fact that they do not have proper papers
to be here in this wonderful land of opportunities, immigrants. These
individuals and families have been here, in and out, around and just about
everywhere in the United States. Some are either here because of the
thought of a better job, money, education or the chance of having and
living the life of the American dream.

In according to this debate (Should illegal immigrants be allowed to get an

education in the U.S.?) 47% mean yes, they should be allowed to get an
education in the U.S. while 53% mean no they shouldnt. People have
different options when it comes to things or debates, what was surprising
with these different opinions were the comments. I chose two comments
that were the opposites of each other, like yin and yang, fire and water,
accept and refuse.
Say Yes: They are American I don't understand why there is even a
debate. Our country is supposed to be one about opportunity. It just breaks
my heart how people treat undocumented individuals as if they aren't
even human. They're just people like you and me. Please grow a heart and
stop being so discriminatory. (Should illegal immigrants be allowed to get
an education in the U.S.?)
Say No: Why should we? Legal immigrants are okay. Not illegal ones.
Illegal immigrants take our money away from us and send it to their own
home country. They don't pay taxes. Why should illegal immigrants be able
to get a free education when us citizens struggle to pay for our own? I
don't have anything against immigrants; I'm just saying they shouldn't be
getting something for free in OUR COUNTRY when we have to pay for it.
(Should illegal immigrants be allowed to get an education in the U.S.?)
These two comments are completely different options, its never wrong
what people think or mean. Everyone has the right to express themselves.
We shouldn't judge people who write their option because we dont know
the reason behind it and in this case its a debate so there is no right or
wrong answer.
According to this another article, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION:
Unaccompanied ILLEGAL immigrants Minor 'Entitled TO' PUBLIC
EDUCATION (May, 2014) The question do the immigrants have the right
to get an education? is supported by this fact sheet from Department Of
Education where it lays out the basics about the undocumented immigrant
childrens rights and what communities can do to help with enrollment.
These immigrants minors have the right to get a public education in US,
followed by these rules, Recently arrived unaccompanied children are
later released from federal custody to an appropriate sponsor usually a
parent, relative, or family friend who can safely and appropriately care
for them while their immigration cases proceed. While residing with a
sponsor, these children have a right under federal law to enroll in public
elementary and secondary schools in their local communities and to
benefit from educational services, as do all children in the U.S. (May,
2014)

To answer my article question, this third article (Hunt, 2012) is also a good
example of do the immigrants have the right to get an education, and it also
tells us the good and the bad sides. Immigrants and natives are taught in the
same classes, teachers of some subjects may slow the pace of instruction to
accommodate non-native speakers. If immigrant students have had a low quality
prior education, or have less education than their native classmates, teachers
may lower expectations for all students. Compared to natives, immigrants to the
US are either poorly educated or, to some extent, highly educated.
The bad side with the immigration is that someone means that America is
spending millions of dollars for non-American citizens and education. Many are
against how they have to pay the taxes for immigrants and if they want an
American education then fill out the proper paperwork and make it happen. All
we are doing is giving more people more reason to smuggle themselves into U.S.
illegally.

A visual picture with some minors and teens holding up signs pretty much
stating, please dont deport us or Right to education Apparently they
had migrated into the states for hope of a better future without the horrors
of violence and poverty. This really keys us in on what they could be
stressed and afraid of because of how much they had risked to come into
the country and really makes you sympathize about what struggles they
had and are going through.
The article has given us an insight on how non-illegal immigrants are
coming in and if they have the right to get an education in the U.S. Though
many immigrants see light from all this, there still may be more laws and
policies passed in the near future that can alter the course of which
immigrants that are upcoming students and workers will be able to be
helped as to their educational There is always someone who is going to be
unhappy with how the world works, but the different is that new have a
right and a voice to say what we mean and think.
