There are two things we must do to receive a perfect record.

Firstly, we must believe that Jesus took the punishment for our
sins, died in our place and rose from the dead.11 Secondly, we
must be willing to turn away from what is sinful asking God to
forgive us and give Him control of our lives.12 If we are willing
to do these two things, the Bible says that we will be saved.13
This is the very reason Jesus came to earth 2,000 years
ago. To save us from our sins14 and restore our
relationship with God.15

Take the Test!

1. Have you ever told a lie, even a white lie?

2. Have you ever stolen anything, even something small?
3. Have you ever hated someone, even for a moment?
4. Have you ever deliberately hurt anyone, even once?
Because God is perfect and His standards are perfect, if you
said yes to even one of the above questions, you have failed the
Goodness Test. Unfortunately there are serious consequences
to failing BUT there is also a wonderful solution.
So please read on.

God calls our failures sin. The Bible tells us that there are two
consequences to sin. Firstly, sin causes a breakdown of intimate
relationship with God.1 Secondly, the punishment for sin is
eternity in hell.2 Some people may say: That seems harsh!
How can a loving God be so severe? We must never
confuse the love of God with the justice of God. For
God to be loving, He must also be just. For justice
to be served, there must be consequences to sin.
Thats the bad news, but read
on to find out about Gods
wonderful solution.

Contrary to what some people think, Gods solution to our past

failures is not being good or believing that He exists or even doing
good things.3 Even though these have merit, they cannot remove
our past failures. Gods unique solution is found in Jesus Christ.4 He
was the only person who ever lived with a perfect record.5 The Bible
tells us that when He was whipped, beaten and nailed to the cross,
He took the punishment for our sins.6 He died in our place and rose
from the dead to prove that everything
He said was true.7

The Bible tells us that God is perfect8 and Heaven is perfect.

Since we have failed the Goodness Test and have become
imperfect, God cannot allow us into Heaven otherwise Heaven
would become imperfect. But God loved us so much9 that He
made it possible for us to exchange our imperfect record for
Jesus perfect one.10 Having a perfect record means that our
sins are forgiven, our relationship with God is restored
and when we eventually die, we are given
access to Heaven.
Isnt that awesome!
