Should we invent a new language for international communication

In the modern world, people are trying to study more and more languages as they can.
They spend much of money, time and their effort with the aim of speaking a new language
successfully. Previous times, some languages are used widely such as English, Spanish, and

French, regarded as an official lingua franca, have played a dominant role in communication
among countries throughout the world. Some feel very stressful when learning a language of
other countries such as Japan or Chinese due to the different written words. Many
recommendations has been made as we should establish a new simple second language for all
nations to use in order to create a flatter world in terms of enhancing efficient of international
communication and interaction. Regardless of some undeniable advantages, it is believed that
there are both benefits and drawbacks of creating a new language. This assignment will dig deep
into both sides of creating a new language.
Drawbacks of having one language in the world
On the one hand, many argued that it can be drawbacks if the new language is created for
international communication. The unavoidable disadvantage of an international language should
not be overlooked. If the world has a dominant language, it may have a damaging effect on
cultural diversity and cultural identity, especially for ethnic minorities. Languages in minority
countries will be suffered from extinction because citizens in those countries learn that language
to keep the face of life with a big burden. That problem can result in retrogression in their own
language cultures. Once the new international language established and accepted, the speed of
lesser-known languages' dying out will be pushed up and the publics may be steeped in a
monotonous world with very few languages. It should be noted that government of each country
will spend a huge amount of money for this innovation in order to create, publish, and teach
citizens to learn; while maintain the main position of English around the world is much more
cost-efficient and effective than innovating a brand-new one (Lucus, 2014). It is well-known that
a wide variety of languages are rooted in their own cultural contexts and cultural heritages. It can
be concluded that every language has its own unique with their special characters. Consequently,

if the new language is created, a huge amount of money and experts should be invested in this
kind of program to combine these differences features into one. The first step is hard for any
government or international community to afford. As a result, maintain English still is a good
choice for nations.
