    So about those 21 Bernie Sanders amendment roll call votes, only three really became law. The last few weeks the internet has been buzzing with talk about Bernie Sanders as the "Amendment King." So it's worth taking a closer look at his record. I tracked the progress of those 21 Sanders roll call amendments and it turns out that very few actually became laws. Eight were attached to bills that never became law. Of his amendments attached to bills that did ultimately pass, often his language was removed from the final bill during the reconciliation process with the other chamber. One bill was vetoed and one passed but only expressed the sense of the Congress and doesn't carry the force of law. Of his 21 roll call amendments, there were only three of his amendments that fully became a law. I have no data as to how this compares to other legislators, and I can't find the bill text of H.Amdt.388 in the Congressional Record (if you can find it PLEASE send it along). For the record, saying that he "passed more roll call amendments in a Republican Congress than any other member" like Sanders did in his recent ad, is a weirdly specific, incomplete and somewhat misleading way of describing legislative achievements.     Calling All Roll Calls

    Bernie Sanders has been called the Roll Call King and boasted that hes
    passed more roll call amendments in a Republican Congress than any
    other member, but thats only part of the story. Many of his roll call votes
    were attached to bills that never became law, or his language was removed
    from the final version of the bill after being reconciled in the conference
    committee. Only three made it all the way to being a public law. Here are all
    21 of his roll call votes before both the House and Senate, and their ultimate
    fate.
