Krauter & Company’s risk consulting services’ goal is to closely work with our clients to
fully understand the operations and management culture so as to bring the best, most
workable solutions to the fore. Working in conjunction with our claims management
experts our risk control consultants take a three pronged approach. First, we seek to
identify and address the one or two primary loss drivers and develop an approach and
specific plan for mitigating those exposures. Secondly, we work with our client’s senior
management team to help build a solid foundation and infrastructure for a world class
safety program. Finally, once a solid safety program is in place, programs such as
behavioral-based safety can be employed to further improve overall program
effectiveness, thereby significantly reducing direct and indirect loss costs.

Krauter & Company’s Claim Advocacy Group’s singular aim is to help our clients
effectively manage their casualty claim experience from both a micro and macro
approach. Whether the goal is to develop a tactical resolution plan on any one claim,
ensure proper reserve adequacy on a targeted claim sample or ensure that an
organizational infrastructure is developed to apply industry-recognized best practice
strategies to mitigate ultimate claim costs, we have the expertise to partner with our
clients to effect necessary change and achieve these goals.

CASUALTY CLAIMS ADVOCACY CORE SERVICE OFFERING

Establish agreed upon carrier claim-handling service expectations


Provide broad oversight of vendor claim services to ensure compliance with best
practice standards and delivery of the service that was likely promised when the
claim administrator was originally engaged
Coordinate all aspects of claim management process at renewal
Facilitate the claim reporting process by making necessary recommendations
based upon coverage analysis, potential exposure and nature of claim
Advocate our clients’ interests and position on coverage issues
Obtain claim status reports upon request and/or in accordance with an agreed
upon schedule, and monitor high exposure claims
Ensure that all relevant parties receive loss data reports in accordance with an
agreed upon schedule
Facilitate access to the claim administrator’s risk management information

Benchmark workers’ compensation loss history against published industry


standards to identify opportunities to achieve the greatest cost savings
Conduct organizational process and needs analysis to determine current
reporting practices, return to work policy procedures, and overall claim
management strategies to identify opportunities for enhancement and improved
efficiencies
Develop specialized claim audit formats aligned with our client’s risk
management or organization objectives, such as those which focus on best
practices and performance guarantees, accelerated claim closure or
retrospective premium adjustments, loss portfolio transfers and buy-out projects
Conduct research into relevant workers’ compensation statutes or historical case
law to provide information-based responses to inquiries
Harness all available educational resources available through the insurance
carrier or claim administrator in support of effective claim management,
managed care savings, and the implementation of risk management programs at
each of the client’s locations.
Manage pre-renewal third-party administrator (TPA) marketing exercise, as
required, working in conjunction with our casualty brokerage practice
