PDF-417 Barcodes
If it is desired to scan generic PDF 417 (2D) barcodes with the Handheld, you can enable the
7874/84/78 to allow the pass-through of the data without the scanner itself having the capability
to read that type of barcode.

** The passed-through PDF data is transmitted in ASCII format when RS232 Serial or NCR
USB is in use. This is the data format required by NCR OPOS for PDF barcodes.
There is an option also to send the HHs pdf data as is instead of performing a secondary
conversion to ASCII (TAR# 402252).
This is mostly targeted at the 2356-9898 DL, which has Drivers License parsing capability.

PLEASE scan this barcode after configuring your Motorola Handheld with one of the IBM
OPOS barcodes above. The scanner is defaulted to send an unknown type label identifier for
certain 2D barcodes. Scanning the IBM USB Interface Version 2.2 barcode changes these
identifiers to what the NCR laser scanners need them to be.
Some models of 2356 may not support this barcode, particularly the 1203 and 2208.
