More than 65 years in bikes innovation

The making of an Italian Legend

Started in 1952 in a small factory in the north-eastern Italian town of Santa Lucia di Piave by
Mr. Adamo Modolo, the company initially made a variety of steel parts for bicycles.
Domenico Modolo (son of the founder), joined the company in 1976 having graduated as a
industrial engineer. Soon afterwards the famous TOP brake-set, made in light alloy, commenced production. These brake-sets were exported all over the world and set the standard for
high quality Italian aftermarket components.

Only a few companies in the world of cycling can be proud

to have a successful history of more than 65 years and to
be still in the forefront of innovation.
Modolo is known for its innovative, lightweight, safe products, made with a typical Italian flair for design.

Modolo KX IEROS, the Top-range wheel set developed to ensure the best
performance to professional rider. With special resins resistant to high temperature, the braking surface has the same efficiency of aluminum and
special brake pads are not required anymore. The slip/jumps tolerance is
certified one by one and signed by hand in each wheel.

Modolo KX IEROS uses Sapim CX Ray spokes with elliptical section & aluminum forged nipples based on spherical stainless washer, to better distribute
the stress on carbon fibers and providing a perfect alignment.
Made in Europe & Hand Assembled in Italy.

AEON ASL stands for Asymmetrical Super Light. A new rim with asymmetrical section is introduced in this top range wheel sets to give maximum precision to spokes tension and hub alienation. This new set of super light wheels
was born with the intent of drastically reduce the weight of the bike, but with
absolute safety, to best suit the needs of XC/Marathon competition. Available in 29" & 650B !

The AEON SL 29" & 650B uses new ultralights hubs in Al7075 finely CNC
machined, with NITRO Sealed bearings.
The use of hybrid combination of 16x2 + TRINITAS Crossing in the rear
wheel give a rigid and snappy feeling.

Thanks to this new Asymmetric rims we can use a 32+32 hole set without
exceeding in weight, but ensuring precision, control & stiffness, a must for

On the bicycle market the research of lightness is often in conflict with the
resultant stiffness of the components. A balanced stiffness is needed to
ensure the maximum mechanical transmission of the power of the athlete to
the ground. If a wheel is too flexible we will lose enormous power, if too rigid
we will not be able to endure in long distance race feeling pain and fatigue.In
classical crossing such as X1/X2/X3 the power transmitted from the hub to
the rim is partially dispersed, in radial crossing there is not enough torque to
ensure a reactive and snappy feeling.

Thanks to TRINITAS Crossing we can combine perfectly the force involved

to give the best power transmission and comfort for a real professional ride.
There are 2 spokes transmitting the pulling force dynamically, the effort
gradually passes from the first spokes (50%) to the second that (33%), the
third (with the head outside) act as a push mechanism absorbing much of
the compression forces.
We use this crossing in the rear Wheel to ensure the best traction a power
transmission. All Wheels are hand assembled one by one in Italy by Modolo!

The road handlebar KX made in Carbon -kevlar monocoque, has a superergonomical grip.
CURVISSIMA bend born in 2000 at Modolo, is the direct evolution of the
anatomical bend patented by Modolo in 1985 that allowed only two hand
positions. The new bend has a super-comfortable micropositions grip. Its
more compact, stiffer and more comfortable.

Modolo KX MTB-XC handlebar Flat or Rise in high modulus carbon linear

fiber and kevlar for a very technical handlebar that focus only to reach the
perfection of the product and the purity of the design.
The KX MTB-XC is lightweight, specially reinforced with Aramid Kevlar
inserts in the clamping area of the stem and bar-ends. We use LongFiber
technology for the whole range of carbon-kevlar handlebars.

people with small hands; with this shape the brake levers are brought almost
9mm nearer.
In 2005 the design has been modified in the lower part of the grip, so now it

Shooting the metallic surface with calibrated ceramic spheres produces
a relaxation of the surface tensions and an overall increase of the mechanical properties of the material of more than 30%.

Ho disegnato i prodotti Modolo fin dal 1976, quando giovanissimo, giravo

in bici da corsa. Oggi, per la salutare passione della bicicletta mi dedico anche
alla MTBe Trekking ed assieme a mia moglie Serena ho scoperto la passione
del Cicloturismo.
Questanno nostro figlio Maximilian, rifondando la MODOLO ITALIA
riprende lo spirito di raffinata artigianalit Italiana e forte innovazione che
ha contraddistinto la produzione Modolo dal lanno di fondazione 1952, per
