HOW TO USE:
1 - Add Folders
Add folders you want to compare by either clicking the "Add Folder"
button or dragging the folder to the console on the bottom of the progra
m.
2 - Options
"Skip Files With Different Size" Option:
When you convert an image from one format to another(jpg to bmp
etc.) its file
size change, therefore even if two file have different sizes the
y can still be
the same image. Normally Image Comparator takes this into consid
eration and
compares every file, despite their size; but it may be redundant
sometimes(when
you are sure that there can't be such files). When you select "S
kip Files With
Different Size" option, Image Comparator first categorizes the f
iles according
to their sizes, then makes pixel by pixel comparation. This way,
depending
on your input files, Image Comparator may run up to hundreds of
times faster.
"Auto-Delete Corrupt Files" Option:
When selected Image Comparator automatically deletes all corrupt
image files
found in the search.

Image Comparator has two different algorithms to compare pictures:

a - Fast Comparation(RECOMMENDED)
Fast comparation mode compares only some random pixels on each p
icture.
You can increase the pixel count for more precision but it may
cause the computer to run out of memory. Default value 1000 is
precise enough and doesn't use too much memory.
*** IMPORTANT NOTE***
Decreasing the pixel count doesn't make the program run any fast
er, it
only uses less memory.
b - Exact Comparation
Exact comparation mode compares all the pictures byte by byte fo
r
absolute results but it is way slower than the fast comparation
method.
3 - Find Duplicates
Now just start the program by clicking "Find Duplicates" button and wait
for
results. You can pause and continue your search any time.
4 - Results
When the program finishes you will see all duplicate files side by side
on the
right and left consoles of the program (One pair on the right, other on
the left).
If there were any image files that cannot be opened(corrupt) you will se
e them as
well. Now you can double click on any picture to preview them before sta
rting to
delete them. You can select the files you want to delete from both cons
oles and
delete them by clicking "Delete Selected" button. If you want to remove
some pairs
from the list without deleting them you can select them and click "Remov
e Selected"
button. You can also save your results to continue your work later by cl
icking
"File\Save". You can load your results anytime by clicking "File\Open".
