Published by: Publication and Dissemination Section, DARUL ULOOM SABEELUS SALAM, Behind: Salala, Barkas, Hyderabad (AP, India). Musarhads Note: This is a very outdated intro. Attempts are being made to update it soon. This document is the English translation of the official Introduction Brochure of the madrasah, so it is not reliable. If a person wants to contribute to the madrasah, then Musarhad suggests him to give the money directly in the hands of needy teachers who never get their salaries on time and in the hands of students. The official channel for giving aid to the madrasah is not the best option. For the past 10 years, the number of students has been constantly depleting. Several departments have closed down. The teaching standard is so poor that no good student takes admission here.

1. INTRODUCTION Darul Uloom Sabeelus Salam, Hyderabad is a distinguished madrasa of South India which was established 35 years back in 1972 by its first rector Hazrat Maulana Rizwan Al Qasmi (d. 2004), Qari Ghulam Rabbani Qasmi and Hafiz Abdur Rasheed Furqani. Right from the first day, the madrasa made a mark in the academic landscape of the country with its quality education, strict discipline and all-round contributions in a number of related fields. Thousands of Alims (graduates), Fazils (Post graduates), Hafizs (Memorizers of the Glorious Quran), preachers and other products of the Jamia are engaged in extraordinary services in the fields of propagation of Islamic Sciences, preservation of Islamic faith, call towards the Deen of Islam and high-level research works in different parts of India and abroad. The top Ulamas (scholars), intellectuals and other great personalities of the country have appreciated the madrasas invaluable services and acknowledged its magnificent contributions. By Allahs grace, the madrasas journey on the paths of academic excellence, research works, call and reformation continues without a break even after the death of its founder rector Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Rizwan Al Qasmi (Allahs mercy be upon him), and owing to its strong foundations, there are well-founded reasons for the belief that the same will go on till the Day of Judgement. The madrasa is blessed with the special care and patronage of Hazrat Maulana Syed Arshad Madani, Academic Director of Darul Uloom Deoband and the incumbent president of Jamiatul Ulama e Hind which is a pointer towards the bright and propitious future of the Jamia. Moreover, the selfless efforts and assiduous endeavours of the madrasas Rector Hz Ml Muhammad Hassan Al Qasmi and those of the other staff of this Jamia have been playing a great role in the growth and success of this institution. Similarly, the young and dynamic Principal and Secretary of this Jamia, Maulana Noamaan Bader Al Qasmi Nadawi (MBA) has a clearly perceptible motivating influence on the Jamias dedicated workforce. May Allah bestow all the above mentioned with His infinite bounties! 2. VARIOUS ACADEMIC SECTIONS OF THE JAMIA A number of students benefit every year from the Jamias various academic sections ranging from the Tahfeezul Quran (Quran Memorization Section), Primary Section, Alimiat Section and Fazeelat Section to the highly advanced Specialization Centre offering courses in Tafseer (Quranic Exegesis), Hadith (the Holy Prophets Traditions), Fiqh and Ifta (Islamic Jurisprudence), Dawa (Call towards Islam) and Arabic Language and 2

Literature. It must be noted that in the Tahfeezul Quran (Quran Memorization) Section, the students not only memorize the Glorious Book of Allah with Tajweed (correct pronunciations and intonations) but also learn Urdu and the basic Islamic rules and directives. To train the Hafizs (Quran Memorizers) in the principles and regulations of Imamat (Prayer-leading), Khitabat (Preaching) and Dawa (Call) and Reformation, the Tadreebul Aimma (Imam Training) Section has been established. In all the streams of Arabic education, modern subjects are taught up to an optimum level along with the regular religious courses, in particular English is taught as a compulsory subject in most of the Arabic classes. To cater to the desires of the students of modern (job-oriented) schools and colleges, a special short term Alim course under the title of Jamaat Khaas with an autonomous administration and curriculum has been set up. 3. OTHER SECTIONS OF THE JAMIA No one can deny the importance and need of computer education in the present age. Keeping in view the exigencies of the times, the administrators of the Jamia built a separate block for Computer education where the students get theory instructions from an expert computer instructor and do their practical exercises on the computers in the Lab, numbering nearly a dozen. An autonomous block of Tailoring Section has also been constructed to teach the students tailoring and embroidery in their free time. The desirous students of the Jamia benefit from this section. Other than these, the following sections are also there: 1. Library 2. Darul Mutala (Study Hall) 3. Darul Ifta (Jurisprudence Section) 4.
