Delhi government to provide education

loan from September 8

New Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday said
education loan to the needy students will be provided from September 8. Sisodia spoke about the
education loan scheme at a musical programme at the Talkotra stadium in New Delhi.
If any student has any problem pursuing education, Delhi government guarantees the solution and will
pay the fees. Rs 10 lakh education loan will be provided to students from September 8, said Sisodia
amidst a cheering crowd shouting Bharat Mata ki Jai and Inqualab Zindabad.
The scheme was introduced to help students who wish to pursue higher education. An Education Loan
in India of up to Rs 10 lakh will be given by the bank with the government as a guarantor.
Sisodia also stressed on the promotion of student politics and its necessity. He exhorted the students to
study hard and concurrently indulge in clean politics.
The exuberant event DU Rocks organised by Aam Aadmi Party to initiate the election campaign of it's
student wing Chattra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) for the upcoming Delhi University Students Union
(DUSU) elections saw Rockstars Vishal Dadlani, Shilpa Rao, Jasleen Royale and Rock band Astitva make

students go gaga over their music. Raghu Ram of the reality show Roadies was also present, interacting
with students.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who addressed the gathering at the end of the event, said that his
government has curbed 70% of the corruption in Delhi within 6 months of coming to power. He also
spoke out his will to provide free Wi-Fi to all the colleges in Delhi.
With the help of the students and the people, we can make Delhi the first Wi-Fi free state in India and
the government is also working towards giving free Wi-Fi to all colleges over here, said Kejriwal.
AAPs CYSS, contesting Delhi university Students Union elections for the first time, is fielding four of its
candidates - Rahul Raj Aryan, Kuldeep Bhiduri, Garima Rana and Hitanshi Chauhan. The students wing
will face stiff competition from Congresss NSUI and BJPs ABVP in the election, which is to take place on
September 11.
We want a vote share which is more than the cut off percentage for admission in DU colleges, said
Rahul Raj.
The candidates, who later danced with the performers on stage, also praised and thanked Arvind
Kejriwal for giving them such an opportunity and platform in order to spread Imandaar and clean
politics.
Although the expense behind the mega event is not known, AAP, which organised the programme
asserted that no money was paid to the artistes.
Transport Minister Gopal Rai, who also attended the event, said, The fight in this election has to be
honest. The way in which money and power was defeated in the assembly polls should be repeated in
the DUSU polls.
