Course Plan
Title of the Subject: Basic Electronics (EC 1101)
Aim/Objective: To provide basic knowledge of Electronics to the first year
students of engineering.
Course Prerequisites: Basics of Physics and Mathematics.
Course Schedule: Lecture: 3 hrs/week
Tutorial: 1 hr/week
Grading Policy: 20%: assignment or tutorial, 40%: midterm, 40%: final.
About the Course: The growth of semiconductor devices, mobile telephony,
broadband and wireless internet has revolutionized the world and created a
huge number of career opportunities in the field of Electronics and
Communication industries. This course is a basic overview of electronic
components and their common uses in our day to day life. It covers the
aspects of analog, digital and basic components of communication systems.
The course is ideal for the students to gain basics knowledge of electronics
that will help them to understand well the consumer electronics.
