Personal statement

I am a self motivated and original thinking person with a burning will to succeed in every thing I
do. With great attention to detail I am able to manage the smaller obstacles without losing sight
of the big picture. I have been very lucky in my professional career having wonderful mentors and
grasping a vast amount of knowledge and experience in my career to date.

My role is to manage the supply of soft furnishings for the interiors of super yachts,
property and private aircraft. I manage and work with a small team of buying
coordinators sourcing products from luxury brand to custom made items. We source
from suppliers in Europe, the far east and south America. I oversee the main project
being the main point of contact for both the client and building relationships and
ensuring the smooth running of all projects with suppliers.
Despite the industry, budget and cost focus is also a key element in every project

We have recently completed our client franchisee trade fair with my stands experiencing a 22%
rise in previous years despite the predicted figures due to the current climate.

I commenced employment with MDA in 2007 given the role of Product sourcing, development +
buying to meet lifestyle requirements of individual brands, on-trade and off-trade end-users. Also
managing the entire process through development stages to logistics.

 Sourcing/developing off-the-shelf and bespoke: Promotional items ,premium gifts; toiletry


based gifts; leather items; bags; belts; jewellery; headwear; ties; scarves; clothing;
signs/banners; home ware; glassware; garden furnishings; children’s games/packs and
other branded products.
 Working with embroidery, print, embossing/de-bossing, engraving/ etch effects to a
variety of materials. Dealing with lab dips, strike-offs, tooling, pre-production samples etc
 Print buying. Working with design agencies to setting print specifications (sourcing new
concepts to ensure the client remains on trend). Managing the entire print process- from
organising cutter guides and artwork set-up, to stock, ‘white’ and pre-production samples,
costings, margins.
