Kolchak: The Night Stalker The Unproduced Scripts

The third Movie-of-the Week Night Stalker script was titled "The Night Killers." Writing credit was given
to Richard Matheson and William F. Nolan. The script, dated Jan. 15, 1974 (under the Dan Curtis
Productions banner), proves one thing, if nothing else: after two previous movies, the third was little more
than a rehash of the first two, changing the setting but not the "formula." There is scant originality in this
movie and if it had been filmed, it's doubtful a series would have followed.
The plot and dialogue are as follows:
Hawaiian lieutenant-governor Hawaan is in route to a high-level meeting at the Ridgeway Atomic Power
Plant when disaster strikes:
KOLCHAK
An unforeseen accident that ripped the top right off
a Pandora's Box of secrets, cover-ups and murders unlike
anything the Aloha State had ever seen.
Ambulance drivers take the government official to the hospital, where he is rushed into surgery. Before Dr.
Petree can arrive to stop the operation, an explosion occurs, destroying the O.R. Shortly thereafter, Our
Hero is summoned to cover the story:
INT. NEW YORK BAR - SHOOTING OUT WINDOW PAST BARTENDER - NIGHT
Snow pelts against the outside window as CAMERA PULLS BACK and we SEE the BARTENDER
regarding an O.S. argument.
KOLCHAK
I came into it a few days later. I was in New
York City at the time, having a friendly discussion
WITH A FELLOW MEMBER OF THE FOURTH ESTATE.
CLOSE ON GLASS
as Kolchak slams it down on the table.
KOLCHAK
You moron!
CAMERA STARTS TO PULL BACK, REVEALING KOLCHAK (in his usual "summer" suit) raving at
HAYWORTH, an amused reporter.
KOLCHAK (continuing)
What the hell do you know? Were you there
in Vegas -- there is Seattle? In a pig's eye you
were! You were here in Gotham, covering garbage strikes!
(leans forward, pointing)
Well, listen, pal -- I'm telling you I saw those
things, took photos of 'em, had a by-line on the
stories. A vampire in Las Vegas... and a killer in
Seattle who kept himself alive for more than a
hundred years with -He breaks off, looking around, as a hand taps him on the shoulder. The Bartender.
BARTENDER
Phone call.

KOLCHAK
Phone call? Who knows I'm here?
HAYWORTH
Your psychiatrist, maybe?
Kolchak stands up, glaring at Hayworth.
ANGLE AT WALL PHONE - CLOSE ON KOLCHAK
as he picks up the receiver.
KOLCHAK
Yeah?
OPERATOR'S VOICE
Is this Carl Kolchak?
KOLCHAK
Who wants to know?
OPERATOR'S VOICE
Go ahead, please.
VINCENZO'S VOICE
Carl?
KOLCHAK
Who is this?
VINCENZO'S VOICE
Tony!
KOLCHAK
Tony who?
VINCENZO'S VOICE
What d'ya mean, Tony who, you fathead!
KOLCHAK
(happily)
Vincenzo! How are ya?
VINCENZO'S VOICE
Fed up from callin' half the bars in New York
tryin' to get hold of you.
KOLCHAK
Why? What's up?
POV SHOT THROUGH JET WINDOW - DAY
The panorama of Honolulu, dominated by Diamond Head.
KOLCHAK'S VOICE

What was up was me -- flying one-way

to Hawaii to work for Tony on the Daily
Tribune.
INT. CABIN OF JETLINER - CLOSE ON FRONT PAGE OF "HONOLULU DAILY TRIBUNE"
SHOWING its name, then PULLING BACK to REVEAL the lead story: "Lieutenant Governor Eulogized
as Hawaii's "Guiding Light". Kolchak glances through the remainder of the paper; a small headline catches
his eye: "Flying Saucer Disappears". As he reacts, CAMERA MOVES IN FAST on the story, sub-titled:
"No Trace Found of UFO Reported in Area Last Month."
KOLCHAK'S VOICE
It didn't take me long to figure out which
story I'd been hired to cover.
INT. CAR - CLOSE ON VINCENZO
tanned and prosperous looking. CAMERA WIDENS TO REVEAL him driving, Kolchak beside him.
VINCENZO
Flying saucer? Carl, come on. You don't think
Old Crossbinder had me bring you all the way from -KOLCHAK
Crossbinder? You're working for him again?
VINCENZO
Why not?
KOLCHAK
He fired you in Seattle.
VINCENZO
And re-hired me in Hawaii for more money.
So what?
KOLCHAK
If I'd known it was his paper...
VINCENZO
It is, and it isn't.
KOLCHAK
Meaning?
VINCENZO
His kid started it here in Honolulu about a
year ago on his old man's money. Ever
hear of Elbert?
KOLCHAK
(impressed)
King of the playboys?
VINCENZO
That's him. Blondes, booze and Ferraris.

He made a lousy newspaperman... the paper

was going down the tube until old man
Crossbinder came out to take over. Reluctantly,
I might add. Instead of moving to Hawaii to
retire, he is here working to protect his investment.
Believe me, he's not happy about it. And when
the old man's not happy, nobody's happy!
KOLCHAK
Where's Elbert?
VINCENZO
Africa. Hunting elephants.
KOLCHAK
(staring at Vincenzo)
Speaking of elephants... what have you
been eating?
VINCENZO
Food, Carl, food. My stomach's had a field
day away from you.
Kolchak eyes his stomach.
KOLCHAK
I can see that.
VINCENZO
(frowning)
You wanna talk about your job or my
digestion?
KOLCHAK
(grinning)
Don't they go together?
VINCENZO
The old man wants you here to build up
circulation -- but on the basis of sanity, Carl.
(cutting off Kolchak)
Like, for instance, no flying saucers!
Kolchak slumps back unhappily into the seat.
KOLCHAK
(to himself, dully)
Welcome to Hawaii, Mr. Kolchak.
INT. CROSSBINDER'S OFFICE - CLOSE ON LLEWELLYN CROSSBINDER - DAY
Regarding the O.S. Kolchak with detached amusement.
CROSSBINDER
Welcome to Hawaii, Mr. Kolchak.
CAMERA WITHDRAWS TO INCLUDE Kolchak and Vincenzo opposite the old man's desk.

CROSSBINDER
At last, you've reached a locale where that
suit of yours is in vogue.
(as Kolchak grins)
In beach bum circles.
(cutting off Kolchak)
You're a unique man, Mr. Kolchak. One of a
dying breed. I can use your help.
(cutting Kolchak off again)
So long as you restrain yourself. You understand.
KOLCHAK
Now, wait a sec -Vincenzo stands up to cut him off.
VINCENZO
(taking Kolchak up with him
and aiming him toward the door)
Carl's a new man, Mr. Crossbinder -- I
guarantee it.
CROSSBINDER
I shall hold you to that guarantee, Mr. Vincenzo.
KOLCHAK
(muttering)
Here we go again.
***************************
When the only survivor of the O.R. explosion dies suddenly, Kolchak investigates, first at the hospital, then
with the two ambulance drivers who transported the lieutenant-governor to the hospital. In the course of
his unproductive investigation, Kolchak meets the obligatory TV movie female co-starring character, in the
guise of Kathy O'Kileyani, a real estage agent. She reappears throughout the script when convenient.
Predictably, Tony doesn't like Carl's suspicion that the deaths of people associated with the explosion ate
linked to the lieutenant-governor's death. They argue; Tony has stomach spasms; Carl leaves. Basic Movie
1 & 2 formula.
Kolchak almost witnesses the murder of a nurse, then gets jailed for some unstated reason. Tony springs
him, then both are threatened by Publisher Crossbinder.
Carl continues investigating, almost gets killed by the driver of a red truck (who was also at the scene of the
nurse's murder), gets yelled at by Tony (again), then goes off to investigate Ridgeway Atomic Power Plant.
Learning nothing, he gets yelled at (again) by Crossbinder for drawing spurious conclusions about who was
and who was not murdered.
Being removed from the story, Carl is re-assigned to investigate the UFO sighting.
Taking his "girl realtor" as a guide, Kolchak interviews Mr. and Mrs. Groat, eyewitnesses to a "doughnut"
flying saucer landing near Hickam Field. Rather than investigate the sighting himself, Carl interviews Col.
Shaw, learning that: 1) he drinks Black Irish whisky and 2) he doesn't believe in UFO's. After
establishing this Very Necessary Character, our reporter attempts to check out the landing sight. He is
foiled, however, by discovering the entire area is fenced off by Spencer Construction Co.

In a thrilling twist, the Spencer Construction Co. employee Kolchak goes to interview in a gay bar is just
leaving with his boyfriend. Carl makes an appointment to meet him later. Unfortunately, this potential
witness is murdered before Carl can extract any intimate details from him. After witnessing the familiar
red truck (again), Carl links the UFO story to that of the lieutenant-governor's death.
Interrupting Tony at his golf game (!), Kolchak tries to convince his editor he's onto the story of his life.
Being in Hawaii seems to have affected Carl's enunciation, for he regresses into an uneducated Hoosier, or
reverts into a past lifetime as a cowboy with the following dialogue:
KOLCHAK
I been lookin' for ya everywhere!
VINCENZO
(screaming)
Get that thing off the green, you idiot!
KOLCHAK
(backing the golf cart up)
Okay! Okay! What are you gettin' so excited
about?
VINCENZO
(glaring at Kolchak;
tight-voiced)
Do you know what you just did?
KOLCHAK
Yeah, drove out to find you with the biggest
story this side of -VINCENZO
(overriding)
You cost me fifty bucks!
KOLCHAK
(shrugging)
Tony, if you can't afford the game... don't play.
Vincenzo cannot talk he's so angry. He rips out his wallet, pays off a rival as his partner follows suit with
the other rival player. Vincenzo then moves away.
MOVING - VINCENZO AND KOLCHAK
as Vincenzo walks rapidly away from the green, Kolchak sprinting in pursuit.
KOLCHAK
Hey, wait up!
VINCENZO
(over shoulder)
Kolchak, get lost!
If old publishers and past lifetimes weren't enough, we get MR. LIFFY, who is NOTHING LIKE the Wally
Cox characterization of Titus Berry from "The Night Strangler." This entirely original character is
introduced on page 10, in the following manner: He (Kolchak) recoils as Mr. Liffy stands up, wincing,

from behind a table, a heavy, dusty scrapbook in his arms. Mr. Liffy is a small, cherubic looking man
wearing square-lensed granny glasses and a green eye shade." (In case you're never seen "The Night
Strangler," the granny glasses are the original part.)
Mr. Liffy makes all the connections for our hero, explaining that: 1) The wives of all the dead men had
either died or disappeared 2) the Spencer Construction Co., which owns the land the flying saucer landed
on, had put through the land deal with the influence of the now deceased lieutenant-governor. Carl's
contribution to the Story Thus Far is "Bingo!"
To check out the landing site, Kolchak rents a helicopter (some expense account!), piloted by Kathy, the
real estate agent. (Don't ALL real estate agents know how to pilot helicopters?)
Continuing to look and sound like he had been dropped into a modern-day adventure flick from a Grade B
Oater, Kolchak applauds the whirlybird's dysfunction with stirring lines like, "It'll run okay again once
we're outta range," and "Did I tell ya?" When he then directs Kathy to land so he can take photographs, she
questions: "What if the place is crawling with little green men?" His answer? You guessed it, pardner:
"I'll step on 'em."
Our intrepid sagebrusher makes a judgment of STAR TREK proportions in the following scene. When he
and Kathy see moving figures walking around the UFO, Kathy asks if the men are from "space." Carl
replies, "Must be." Mr. Spock could not have put it more succinctly.
After Kolchak and Kathy are discovered and nearly run over by the man in the now legendary red truck, we
discover the driver is neither man nor Uncle Martin. "Holy Hanna," Carl exclaims. "He's a --" robot.
After getting himself arrested (again), Carl attempts to warn Crossbinder, Vincenzo and Col. Shaw that a
crisis exists.
KOLCHAK
Suppose a space vehicle came to earth carrying,
say, half a dozen aliens intent on establishing a
base here on Hawaii. They land neat Waimea Bay, making
the landing site their initial base of operations.
(beat)
Suppose, in order to achieve their goal, they start
replacing people with androids -(For tips on playing this scene, Mr. McGavin would have done well to call Kevin McCarthy, who played it
so brilliantly in "Invasion of the Body Snatchers.")
Realizing (without Mr. Liffy's help, for cripe's sake) that all the important men in Hawaii were gathering at
the Ridgeway Atomic Plant, Carl pleads with the gathering to stop the meeting. Instead he gets himself -SURPRISE -- fired!
When the police chief (in reality an android), tries to kill Cark (again), Carl discovers he's a robot when he
suddenly starts snmoking then blows up. There goes the neighborhood.
Breaking into the Atomic Power Plant, Carl attempst to inform the governor and military leaders meeting
there, that they have been summoned to the high-powered meeting so they can be killed and replaced by
robots. For his trouble, he is almost killed (again), learning the men have indeed, been exchanged.
(Production note: six seed pods needed for scene.)
Racing away, then eluding capture, Carl grabs a machine gun and shoots the androids. They explode,
proving his point with a bang!
Kolchak's story is quashed by Col. Shaw and the script ends with the following dialogue:

KOLCHAK
So that's the way it happened. Shaw had clamped
down on the story. Couldn't risk mass panic; delicate
political situation; necessary censorship.
(beat)
One of our competitors printed the story about he
Groats seeing the UFO take off. Sure, sure! You bet!
(beat)
What worries me though is: what's to prevent
those aliens from landing somewhere else; starting
in again -- replacing prominent men; taking over?
CAMERA MOVES IN CLOSE on him. He looks directly at us.
KOLCHAK
How do we know it isn't happening at this
very moment?
Good question. We'll ask Dr. Miles Binnell when we see him.

ABC contracted the Night Stalker series for 26 scripts; only twenty were actually produced. If you think
that is a sin, read the following excerpts from several unproduced Night Stalker scripts and see if you dont
have second thoughts.
NIGHT STALKER - Unproduced Script #1
"Eve of Terror" Written by: Stephen Lord (Draft of March 7th also listed Michael Kozoll
as an author.) Night Stalker Production # 41837
What follows are two drafts of scripts, dated March 3 and March 7, 1975
"What if I told you that a deranged feminist murdered a Casanova lab technician, a sex goddess, and her
purveyor?" Carl Kolchak asks a character in this script. His question pretty much sums up the plot of this
degrading, embarrassing attempt at "handling" the Womens Liberation question of the mid 1970s.
Dr. Myra Deckbar is accidentally exposed to sonic stimulation and her Jeckle-Hyde/"alter-ego" monster
goes on a rampage, killing her assistant. Kolchak investigates until taken off the case and ordered to cover
the arrival of "Americas Number One Sex Kitten." Fortunately for the plot, she, too, is killed and there just
happens to be a connection! Carl, seeing a female form escape from the scene, comments, "Whoever it was
wore high heel pumps. Maybe its some freak in drag." The answer, of course, is that its the Mad AlmostA-Feminist, Myra Deckbar, who eventually ends up dead after falling off an apartment building.
These are substantial differences between the two drafts of this script, the most obvious (and tell-tale?)
being that the name "Carl" as in CARL KOLCHAK was consistently misspelled as "Karl" in the March
3rd draft. His dialogue was also listed under the character name KOJAK for one scene. Pretty sad when a
studio script has the name of the main character wrong.
The other outstanding (?) aspect of this script is the striking similarity between the character of the police
lieutenant, named Hurlow, and that of the character played by Keenan Wynn (Captain Siska), from "The
Spanish Moss Murders" (written by Al Friedman and David Chase). Compare some of this scene:
HURLOW
Hold it, Kolchak.

Kolchak halts, braces himself for Hurlows onslaught but surprisingly, the cop retains his cool, speaks
politely.
HURLOW
Karlever since I got that ulcer six months ago, I promised myself faithfully Id let nothing or
nobody bug me again.
KOJAK (NOTE THIS IS NOT A TYPO)
Smart, Lieutenant, smart.
One can sense the immense struggle within Hurlow as he battles to control his emotions.
HURLOW (still politely)
Now Karlkeep your earyour nose and your big asset out of this
one. (almost sweetly) Please?
KOLCHAK
You sure make it hard for a guy to turn you down, Lieutenant.
HURLOW
I appreciate it.
Kolchak starts to go then turns.
KOLCHAK
Say, Lieutenant, got any ideas about those teeth marks found on the victim?
HURLOW (about to explode)
How did you --!!
KOLCHAK (backing away)
You promised yourself faithfully, Lieutenantremember?
Then Kolchak spins around and hurries out.
March 3rd Draft page 2
Myra studies her notes; as she instructs Wayne top set the various instruments he complies:
MYRA
Random spectrum, 10 to 10,000 hertz overall dB level of 98
superimpose sinusoidal frequency of 5,276 hertz at 99dB.
WAYNE (sardonically)
That ought to scramble their little brains.
MYRA (smiles)
See? Even we have behavioral patterns. The more tired you get, the more
pessimistic. How about a cup of coffee to sweeten your outlook?
WAYNE (returns smile)
Two sugars this time.

Myra goes out.

March 7th Draft pages 1-2
INT. LAB NIGHT
Nice and quiet as Myra studies the video monitor. Then:
MYRA
Okay, shut it down, Wayne. Reset for the next frequency.
(catches herself; smiles)
Please.
WAYNE
No need to patronize.
Myra, still smiling, notices Waynes expression a wry grin. Theyve had this conversation before.
MYRA
Whos patronizing? Its just polite to say please, isnt it?
WAYNE (resetting controls; smiles)
Who knows anymore? The whole world is cockeyed. Amy Vanderbilt is
gone. People have turned against the automobile. And guys like me are
taking orders from women.
MYRA (teasing)
Can the end be far off? (beat) To show you my hearts in the right place, Ill
get you a cup of coffee.
WAYNE
Im thrilled.
Myra smiles, shaking her head as she goes. Wayne appreciatively watches her legs and her walk as she
goes, smiling to himself.
WAYNE
Make mine sweet. (adds) Please.
March 3rd Draft pages 12-14
INS. OFFICE DAY
Open on Vincenzo then widen to include Kolchak.
VINCENZO
Karl, youre trying to catch butterflies with a tin net!
KOLCHAK
But, Tony --VINCENZO
What happened was some electronic kook got caught copping that
spectro-gizmo and killed the technician, now thats it, period!
KOLCHAK
Question mark:! Why didnt the killer use something simple like a knife or a
gun, even a blunt instrument? The victim was slammed around like a bean-bag

and bitten! What about that? The teeth marks?!

VINCENZO
So maybe those eggheads at the research center have been working with
gorillas and one got out of hand.
KOLCHAK
But Kimberly says they dont use any animal larger than a rabbit! Now how
vicious can a bunny get?
VINCENZO
One of those cuddly Peter Cottentails nearly tore my thumb off when I was a
kid. A pretty blue one at that!
KOLCHAK
A blue rabbit?
VINCENZO
I dyed him for Easter. (starts toward office)
KOLCHAK (heeling)
Look, Tony, let me button down this Dr. Deckbar and --VINCENZO (turns)
Negative, Karl. Ive already put Updyke on that story.
KOLCHAK
Updyke? On a murder case?! (hits him) Charlie Hurlow! Thats it! You and
the lieutenant are old drinking buddies!
VINCENZO
Not anymore. Not since that ulcer popped up.
KOLCHAK (accusing)
He called you! Told you to take me off the story!
VINCENZO (topping him)
Hes a nice guy whos walking around with an earthquake brewing in his gut
and youre a8.6 on the Richter Scale!!
KOLCHAK
But, Tony --VINCENZO
Besides, I want you to cover Veronica Masons arrival at the Hotel Walton.
KOLCHAK
Big deal! Veronica Mason! Who needs it?
VINCENZO (grimaces)
You must have a hormone deficiency. That broad triggers hot flashes from
every male over the age of puberty.
KOLCHAK
I skipped puberty. Listen, Tony, this brutal murder thing ---

VINCENZO (firmly)
No, Karl, this Veronica Mason thing! Now get over to the hotel and do your
blood pressure a favor!
Kolchak is about to try a final protest but:
VINCENZO
Now, Karl!
Reluctantly, Kolchak starts to go.
VINCENZO
And try to bring back a different angle than the usual cheesecake jazz!!
March 7th Draft pages 15-17
INT. VINCENZOS OFFICE KOLCHAK DAY
Carl is pensive, unsettled as he stares through the blind slats.
KOLCHAK
Whats weird about it Tony is I checked out Wayne Franks as well as I could.
My stringers dont see him as a mob or loan shark hit. He was a straightarrow.
Widen to include Vincenzo at his desk, sleepy, disgruntled, his hand on his elbowalmost dozing, hardly
listening.
KOLCHAK
And as far as him interfering with the theft of the spectrometer when guys are
committing a robbery, they may shoot somebody, stab somebodybut hang
around pounding on somebody? Wasting time ? Making noise?
VINCENZO (yawns; cranky)
Theres a first time for everything. Its a simple robbery-homicide. I like what
you wrote and well, if theres any mopping up to do on the story, Ronl
l handle it.
KOLCHAK
Ron? On a murder case? My murder case?
VINCENZO
Theres nothing more in it. You can go on to bigger and better things.
KOLCHAK
What bigger and better things? Whats got into you? (studies him) Your friend
Charlie Hurlow called didnt he? Asked you to take me off it?
VINCENZO
Ive known Charlie a long time. But you know how we got so close lately?
(disgusted) Turns out we both go to the same gastrointestinal specialist. For
ulcers. (beat) Charlies got all my sympathy. Hes walking around with an
earthquake brewing in his gut. And youre an 8.6 on the Richter Scale.
KOLCHAK
The fault is always mine, isnt it?
VINCENZO (with finality)

I dont want any more argument about it, Carl. I want you down at the Walton
Hotel at four, covering the arrival of Veronica Mason.
KOLCHAK
Come onthats not my kind of story.
VINCENZO
Remember your logical silogisms, Carl? All stories on sexy women sell. All
stories that sell make Vincenzo happy. (beat) Ergo, we have only two
possible deductions: A:: The Veronica Mason arrival is your kind of story.
Or B, you don't have a job.
KOLCHAK
Your logics as bad as your news sense.(notices Vincenzo yawn again and grumbles testily)
Whats the matter with you today, anyhow?
VINCENZO
That maniac neighbor kid and his lousy Nakajima.
KOLCHAK
I thought you were going to talk to his old man about it.
VINCENZO
The old man told me to take a wade in Lake Michigan. Can you believe the gall? He says theres
no law against noisy motorcycles if they have mufflers on them (runs his eyes) Now, the kid has a job at
Top O The Mornin Bakeries. Every night at four a.m. I get blown out of bed by that bike. (makes
motorcycle noise) Ziin-nin-ninZin-zin-ninnin.
KOLCHAK
You should have some recourse.
VINCENZO
Theres no recourse against noise pollution. I tell you, Carl, we dont
Hes drowned out as the El goes roaring by, jarring everything.
VINCENZO (yelling above it)
See what I mean? Were defenseless! bombarded by noise! Noise of all
kinds!
The El is gone but hes still yelling. He lowers his voice.
VINCENZO
noise of all kinds.
KOLCHAK
You may have a point, Tony. Who really knows what the total effect of that
is on us?
VINCENZO
I know what the effect is on me! Im going ga-ga!
KOLCHAK
Think theres a story in noise and modern life?

VINCENZO (grunts)
Theres a story in sexy girls. Quit stalling and get down to the Walton Hotel.
Try for an interview. Theres a lot of work to be done.
KOLCHAK
That doesnt start till four. Ive got two hours.
VINCENZO (gets up; crosses to couch)
But youre in my office. And I want to take a nap.
KOLCHAK (exiting)
Ill come in when its time for your three oclock feeding.
March 3rd Draft page 28
KOLCHAK
Both bodies were busted up like match sticks! Both had teeth marks! Now I
figure either some female Kung Fu nut or a weirdo in drag --VINCENZO (interrupting)
Carl, why dont you get an unlisted mouth? (starts away)
KOLCHAK
Come on, Tony, back me up.
VINCENZO
Over a cliff maybe! (turns) You know what your problem is, Carl? You need
something to soak up your nervous energy. Why dont you get yourself a
girl?
KOLCHAK
Hey, man, Ive got chicks all over town pulling their hair out over me (grins)
but who cares about those bald-headed broads?
(unappreciative)
Hysterical. Youre a barrel of laughs, Carl. But get yourself busted again and
before I make your bail theyll be giving away free dishes at gas stations!
Vincenzo slams into his office.
March 7th Draft pages 48-49
KOLCHAK
What if I told you that a deranged feminist murdered a Casanova lab
technician, a sex goddess, and her purveyor?
PAMELA
The Veronica Mason thing?
KOLCHAK
Right. Sayjust say theres a lunatic fringe, a misguided feminist factiona
splinter group.
Pamela is shaking her head.
KOLCHAK
Who believes they are furthering the cause No, huh?

PAMELA
It wouldnt be a womans organization or fringe. We recognize violence as the
most primitive manifestation of male irrationality. Violence flourishes where
reason fails.
KOLCHAK
But that doesnt preclude a woman from having done it.
PAMELA
True. I cant speak for individuals, male or female. People do go wrong and
when wrong means violence, it usually comes from repressing ones
feelings doesnt it? (beat) But what makes you so sure it was a woman? Are
you repressing hostility? Is it your wife, your girlfriend?
Kolchak eyes the door, measuring for quick escape.
KOLCHAK
Im manifesting my male rationality. The theory makes sense.
PAMELA
Does it? Tell me, do you feel threatened by the women in your life awakening
to their true potentials?
Kolchak edges off his chair.
PAMELA
Come on, man. Open the tubes. Blast those hostilities into the sunshine. Clean
house.
Kolchak hurries across the room, smiles and eases out the door.
PAMELA (realizing what shes said)
as it were.
Ending narration, March 3rd draft:
INT. INS OFFICE NIGHT
Angling on Kolchak as he concludes recording, the curvaceous pair of legs still crossed at the edge of his
desk (belonging to the character of Gwenneth, a neighbor of Myra Deckbar, who also happened to be mancrazy).
KOLCHAK
What had fallen off the roof of that building was the body of Myra Deckbar so the
murders remained unsolved. But I turned over my story together with the Deckbar
tapes to the Research Centerand today in that same acoustics lab another
behavioral scientist is conducting top secret research into sonic stimulation
maybe trying to discover what vibes turn him on and hopefullyoff. As for
me.
Angle widens to include Gwynneth sitting on the desk in her revealing mini skirt.
KOLCHAK
I know what rings my bell.

He rises and takes her hand and they start out as we:
FADE OUT
March 7th Draft of the ending:
INT. INS OFFICE NIGHT
Angling on Kolchak as he concludes recording.
KOLCHAK
What toppled onto that pavement was clearly not the body of a vicious
superhuman killer so the murders remain unsolved. However, I was forced to
turn over my story together with the Deckbar tapes to the Research
Centerand today in that same acoustics lab another behavioral scientist is
conducting top secret research into sonic stimulationmaybe trying to discover
what vibes turn him on and hopefullyoff. As for me, Ive begun to think
about noise.
Kolchak winces fatalistically against the shattering roar of a passing El.

"The Get of Belial"
Production # 41823 January 3, 1975 (F.R.)
PRODUCER: Cy Chermak Written by: Donn Mullally
This is another sterling example of why there were benefits to being behind schedule and thus unable to
film the full complement of twenty-six scripts. It also provides another example of how weak, ineffectual
writing and uninspired plots destroyed the series.
The script has our hero, Carl Kolchak, in the mountains of West Virginia, covering a coal miners strike.
(Presumably the local INS office reporters had all been in a car accident, a la ""The Vampire," although in
this script, no explanation is attempted.)
FADE IN:
EXT. WEST VIRGINIA MOUNTAIN COUNTRY DAY FULL SHOT STOCK
Green mountains thrust up through the haze. They are scarred by mines and company shanty townsgreat
mounds of tailings around the mines.
EXT. ASSOCIATED ANTHRACITE BUILDING DAY FULL SHOT
It has to be the most impressive building on this dreary Main Street of saloons, small shops, eating places.
But it, too, is grimy with the dust from the mines, streaked. It is identified as the headquarters of a mining
company by a sign over the entrance. A line of pickets march listlessly on the sidewalk in front of the
building. A black and white police car is parked down the streetobviously keeping tabs on the pickets,
who carry the usual signs: UNFAIR, ON STRIKE, etc. Carl Kolchak is seen walking along with one of the
Pickets, taping.
ANOTHER ANGLE
As Kolchak draws the man out of the picket line, recording these deathless words:
PICKET
You wanna know what were striking for? (Kolchak nods) Money. Thats the

ball game. Money!

KOLCHAK
You look for the strike to go on much longer?
PICKET
No way. Mine owners are caving in all over the state except for this mother.
He uses his picket sign to indicate the building.
PICKET
With the pressure hes gotta be getting from the other owners, how long can
he hold out?
KOLCHAK
Youre talking about Glenn Maynard President of Associated?
PICKET (returning to line)

interesting than covering the labor dispute, Carl discovers the Blackshear family has a terrible secret:
theyre keeping an idiot son/brother hidden in the basement of an abandoned schoolhouse. Every time the
"monster" escapes, another murder happens.
When he finally confronts the Blackshear family, the following dialogue explains the plot:)
Carl is bashed in the head by the monster several times, the local authorities dont believe him and he
debriefs the details, over the phone, to Ron Updyke, commenting, "Write anything you want to, Uptight
just dont make it sound like it belongs on the financial page."
INT. MINE NIGHT MED. ANGLE
This is the first tier or levela room carved out of coal and rock, supported by rotting timbers. Several
tunnels fan out from its back wall. The rest of the Blackshear family (except for the creature) are there.
Theyve set up housekeeping. The room is lighted by the Coleman lamp. Henry and Richard are waiting at
the shaft as Kolchak climbs into view. As he steps off the ladder into the room:
RICHARD
Its that reporter guy, Pa!
HENRY (cold-eyed)
Whatre you doing here?
KOLCHAK
I was looking for the Blackshear family.
RICHARD
You found us.
KOLCHAK (looks around)
But youre not all present. Wheres the one you usually keep in a cage?
The Blackshears exchange looks.
HENRY

Theres no cage here. What are you talking about?

KOLCHAK
The cage I saw at the schoolhouse. What or who do you keep in it?
SARAH (a sigh)
Sonnyour youngest boy.
HENRY
Shut up, Sarah!
SARAH
No. You said we hit him long enough.
There is a silent tug-of-war of wills.
KOLCHAK
You did say you kept a son in that cage?
HENRY
I dont care what anybody thinks we done the best we could.
KOLCHAK
But the cage couldnt hold him Nothing could. And he killed people when
he got away.
ANOTHER ANGLE
SARAH (nods)
Because of memy call to do the Lords work. It was Belials way of
tempting me.
KOLCHAK
Belialthe Devil?
Henry has given upslumps against the mine wall, as:
SARAH
YesSonny was a beautiful child. Then the changes began (beat) I was
healing the sick, as my God commanded.
KOLCHAK
Those changeshow do you know it was the Devil?
RICHARD
Old Belial offered Ma a deal. We all heard itthe voice out of nowhere.
Scared the hell out of us!
KOLCHAK
What was the deal?
RICHARD
Ma could have Sonny back the way he used to beif Mad just get off the
Salvation kick.
Kolchak studies the Blackshearshas to believe what he has heard. Their steady gaze. He nods.

KOLCHAK (to Sarah)

And you couldnt buy it?
SARAH (shakes her head)
Mans extremity is Gods opportunity. I had to believe that God was stronger
than the Devil.
(With cops closing in on them, the family tries to escape through the mineshaft. Carl attempts to follow,
falls through some rotting boards, falls into a pit and is attacked - again - by the creature. As they struggle,
the creature falls down another shaft, turning into the corpse of a beautiful young man as he dies. Of
course, there goes Carls story about Belial and the Creature.
As Carl is climbing out of the mine pit, the labor strike is settled and every wire service in the country
scoops INS.)
Another happy ending, as in, "alls well that ends well." ******************************
The Executioners
By: Max Hodge
(No Production Number; no date)
The best of the three unproduced Night Stalker scripts, "The Executioners" needed more than a little editing
to make it acceptable.
The script deals with murders, which always occur in threes: one by hanging, a second by poisoning and a
third by beheading. Finding himself off the spectacular investigation because Tony wanted to cover the
story himself (Carl jealously smelling "the faint aroma of a Pulitzer Prize in the air"), he is given his choice
of assignments: Obits, art or ballet.
Carl chooses art, and as luck would have it, he just happens to discover a painting at the Arty Museum
depicting three executioners a hangman, an ax executioner and a monk-like individual with a large vial of
poison. Fortunately, he has brought along an "art expert" to explain the background of the "unknown." and
make a guess as to the paintings origins.
INT. POP ART INSTITUTE DAY
A FEMALE NUDE MODEL with a noose around her neck is posing in a stretched position as though she
were being hanged. A DOZEN ARE STUDENTS are sketching as the INSTRUCTOR moves along them,
criticizing their work.
KOLCHAK Enters, pauses to glance appreciatively at the model, then makes his way to the young,
attractive BEATRICE MAE JESSEE who eyes her painting, compares it with the model, then makes a few
strokes with her paint brush. Kolchak watches this silently for a moment, Beatrice seemingly unaware of
his presence in her preoccupation with the painting. Finally:
BEATRICE
Honest opinion, Kolchak?
KOLCHAK (studying painting)
Honest?

BEATRICE
Lie a little (as Kolchak hesitates) A lot!
INSERT: PAINTING OF HANGING NUDE
Non-realistic angular and bad.
BACK TO SCENE
KOLCHAK
Well?
BEATRICE
Shows promise? Thats safe. Hell you can lie that much, Kolchak.
KOLCHAK
Whats the scene? Why a hanging nude?
BEATRICE
Professor Swanson said to paint something relevant to the times and whats more relevant? (indicating
painting) Cant you see Im trying to get my intermost (sic) fears and anxieties concerning recent atrocities
on canvas. Does it give you a horrible feeling?
KOLCHAK
Horrible yes (as Beatrice gives him a withering look) I see how you feel. (pointing to painting)
Frightened! Afraid you might be the next victim. It says it all there!
BEATRICE
It does? (a critical eye pleased) It does! (beat) What it doesnt tell me is what the hellre you doing
here? In broad daylight If youll pardon my male chauvinistic expression.
KOLCHAK
I ah need an experts opinion. (indicating painting) Obviously Ive found the expert.
She gives him a skeptical look. He smiles reassuringly. She shrugs smiles starts cleaning her brushes as
he again glances appreciatively towards the nude model..
(Subsequent investigation - and any number of deaths later - Carl pinpoints the cause of the trouble to the
Art Museum director, who just happened to be the owner of the executioner painting. The painting had
been in his family for generations; whenever displayed, a series of murders always took place. Carl
suspects the director is actually the murderer, but when he is poisoned, the real truth is revealed: the
executioners in the painting come to life, commit their murders, then return to the safety of their oil-andcanvas home. Carl destroys the painting after nearly becoming a hanging victim himself.)
EXT. INS BUILDING DAY
BEATRICE MAE JESSEE carrying a wrapped painting, enters.

KOLCHAKS VOICE
Things are back to normal once more. The woman who almost got hacked up by the ax executioner now
things it may have been a nightmare that it wasnt real at all.
INT. INS OFFICE DAY
BEATRICE enters the office and goes to Kolchaks desk where Kolchak is typing. She starts unwrapping
the painting.
KOLCHAKS VOICE
I didnt dispute her theory. How could I prove it actually happened. Whod believe a painting could come
to life?
Beatrice holds up the painting for Kolchaks inspection. Its the NUDE BASEBALL PLAYER. Kolchak
shakes his head.
BEATRICE
You can hang him over your bed.
KOLCHAK
I dont want him over my bed! Suppose in the middle of the night hed decide to crack me with his bat?
BEATRICE
That is stupid, Carl Kolchak. Stupid, stupid, stupid!
KOLCHAK
I know, but just to be on the safe side how about trading the ball player for your NUDE in the NOOSE
broad? Her I wouldnt mind if she climbed out of her frame.
Beatrice shakes her head, starts rewrapping the painting. Kolchak grins, shrugs..

EXT: CITYSCAPE NIGHT
The moon illuminates the city skyline of towering skyscrapers. The city
seems dead as the buildings stand tall and still with no sign of life in
them

INT: CITY BANK

2 figures can be seen in the darkness inside the city bank's safe filling
up large brown sacks with money
1ST ROBBER
Come on man hurry up, the cops are gonna be here soon
2nd ROBBER
Shut up and keep your cool, you getting the jitters aint gonna do nothing
to help
1st ROBBER
Why are we doing petty crimes anyways? We should be living it up instead of
pulling bank robberies
2nd ROBBER hastily putting money into bags clearly beginning to become
frustrated by the 1st ROBBER
2nd ROBBER
If you wanna go live it up maybe you should have gone to University
instead of become a bum, then maybe you would be out partying with models
and actresses instead of robbing banks
1st ROBBER
No that's not what I meant. You know the theory of evolution? We were doing
this sort of thing when we first started working here, and we still are.
Bentelli's days are numbered, no way is he gonna be running this city
2nd ROBBER turns to 1st ROBBER with a puzzled look on his face
2nd ROBBER
"Evolution? We're robbing a bank, HOW MUCH FRIGGIN EVOLUTION DO YOU NEED TO
ROB A BANK?!"
1st ROBBER looking slightly shocked at the 2nd ROBBER'S outburst
1st ROBBER
"I was just sayin is all, you know, Bentelli always reckons that he is
going to run this city, it's all a bunch of bull"
2nd ROBBER
Well I'd love to chat about how our boss, the one who pays YOUR bills is
going to turn into a dinosaur or whatever your talking about, but I'd
rather rob this bank successfully instead of getting caught by the cops
having a discussion about our affairs in life.
Both men walk fast but cautiously toward a back door. Sirens can be heard
in the distance, they run from the bank down a dark alley, both clutching a
bag of money in each hand.
1st ROBBER slows down looking frightened
2nd ROBBER
What now?

1st ROBBER
I got a bad feeling about this.
2nd ROBBER
About what?
1st ROBBER
Aint you heard about the demon?
2nd ROBBER sighs in disbelief
2nd ROBBER
You have got to be kiddin me. You really are stupid you know that?
The 2nd ROBBER walks down the alley, submerging into the darkness until he
is out of view. The 1st ROBBER stands still squinting his eyes as he makes
something out in the darkness. He hopes he is mistaken as he makes out the
faintest white skull, like an emblem, only the eyes of this skull are red,
a red which pierces through to the very mind of the robber.
The 2nd ROBBER lets out an eerie and horrifying cry of pain and is thrown
back from the darkness right to the feet of the 1st ROBBER.
The 1st ROBBER is still frozen but is also now shaking uncontrollably.
A shape emerges from the shadows and shows his face, which is concealed
behind a mask. The masked man frowns, making the 1st robber drop the
moneybags. His face is contorted as if he is about to scream.
CUT TO
Both robbers lying unconscious tied and gagged on the floor, with no sign
of the moneybags.
Shortly after, the police arrive at the scene.
SERGEANT
What the hell happened here?
OFFICER
Don't know sir, maybe some type of vigilante.
The sergeant looks bewildered at the officer.
SERGEANT
(Sarcastically) Vigilante?
OFFICER
Well he stopped these guys from making off with the money they stole from
the bank.
SERGEANT
Oh, o.k. So where is this money then?
The officer turns to another officer, both staring at each other like slack
jawed yokels.

EXT: UPTOWN CITYSCAPE DAY
The morning sunshine shows the beautiful city skyscrapers as it bounces off
of the windows throughout the city. Direct contrast of the setting that was
previously shown involving the bank robbery.
Camera focuses on a skyscraper, which is a modest size compared to the
others surrounding it.
From the outside looking in the building is a smartly dressed man (in a
suit) talking on the phone. He is in his mid thirties with jet-black hair,
which is slicked back
INT. BENTELLI'S PENTHOUSE OF OPERATIONS
Bentelli's room is covered in see through tables; a table for his phone a
coffee table and a see through desk litter his room. Everything else is a
metallic silver (phone, TV)
BENTELLI
Yes boss, again I apologise for the way my clients failed to carry out
their task. I agree that now wait, you can't do thatplease. Give me one
more chance, I'll show you that Iyou want me to attempt the uptown bank?
But that's a little bit closer to home what ifsorry for talking back to
you boss, yes I'll do the job, this time without fail.
Anthony Bentelli smiles as he speaks his last word to his boss on the
phone. Then his smile is replaced by a scowl, directing his look to his
short skinny and blonde male assistant who is standing opposite him.
BENTELLI
How could this happen, it was picture perfect, set up flawlessly. I
couldn't lose!
ASSISTANT (talking in a quiet, nervous voice)
Sir, there is talk of someone else being involved; perhaps there are others
who want to taint your steady rise to the top.
Bentelli's scowl is now replaced by a look of puzzlement.
BENTELLI
Rise to the top? I have been in the same rut as when I started, don't
pretend like someone gives a crap as to whether I succeed or fail. Only
thing that matters now is if I can pull off the robbery of the most secured
bank in this city, otherwise it will be my guts for garters.
ASSISTANT
But what about this mysterious man who foiled your plans?
Bentelli rolls his eyes at his assistant's notion while jumping into his
comfy leather couch.
BENTELLI
Don't be so stupid, it's just some old wives tale, a rumour conjured up to

fool the stupid. Well guess what, I aint stupid.

Bentelli reaches for the remote to his 24in plasma wide screen television.
Whilst still directing attention to his assistant.
BENTELLI (cont.)
Go make some coffee or something, I aint paying you for nothing.
Bentelli's assistant hurriedly scurries away to the door of the room,
whilst Bentelli flicks the channels onto the news.
Reports of the bank incident are shown as the priority news of the day.
TV ANCHOR WOMAN
The news of this bank incident is sure to puzzle detectives as the would
be thieves were found bound and gagged by a mystery assailant. The bags
used to store the money were also missing, leading police to believe that
this is not a vigilante, but in fact a criminal who has apprehended the
money from the offenders for himself.
One of the seized delinquents had this to say;
2nd ROBBER
This weren't no man, he was a demon, a demon I tell ya, he had horns and
everything, and menacing large teeth. You gotta believe me, he's out there,
HE'S OUT THERE!
TV ANCHOR WOMAN
Police had this to say on these turn of events.
Bentelli turns the TV off, looking aimlessly into the blank screen,
perplexed and outraged by what he had just heard.
BENTELLI
Demon?! No Demon is gonna get in my way of running this city
A smile slowly and cunningly creeps onto Bentelli's face
BENTELLI (cont)
For I am the Demon who has already laid claim to this city and I intend to
keep it that way.

EXT: CITY - DAY
A tall man walks through a fairly busy city street. He is wearing a long
black coat, (trench coat?). He is unshaven and his hair hangs over the left
side of his face, which covers his left eye and a large portion of his
upper head. He does not look happy, and displays the look of a hazardous
man.
The young man walks unnerved into a building. The building is then
revealed to be the city court.

INT: COURTROOM DAY
The young man is slumped in a chair, looking down at his sprawled out hands
on the desk he is sitting at.
The magistrate turns to the young man

(Emotionless) Guilty.
CUTS TO
EXT: CITY DAY
MICHAEL is walking along another street now, still with the same walk
and look as he had before, clearly portraying emotionless and not
bothered by anything.
MAGISTRATE (VO)
I hereby sentence you to 3 months community service for the act of ABH.
MICHAEL walks to a bar, stops and looks up at it's sign, contemplating
going inside, still with no sentiment on his face but looking a little less
angry and a bit more depressed. He then looks ahead and walks into the bar.
CUTS TO
INT: LARRY'S BAR DAY
MICHAEL walks up to the bar and nods to a pretty blonde barmaid, who is
leaning her elbow on the bar and resting her head on her hand watching TV.
She drags herself from the bar and begins to pour Michael a drink.
The bar is an empty room, which is dusty and uncanny in its dead like
interior.
CUTS TO
A man plonks himself down next to where MICHAEL is sitting. He has a big
smile on his face. MICHAEL looks at him without moving his head, then looks
away and clears his throat.
The barmaid hands MICHAEL his drink, to which MICHAEL hands her the money
as if this has been done many times before. As there is no need for telling
how much he owes or a thank you or even any idle chitchat.
The man looks at MICHAEL:
MAN

Come here often I see.

MICHAEL momentarily turns his head slightly, and then turns it back and has
a sip of his beer.
MAN
Hi my names DONALD
DONALD still has a big smile on his face, direct contrast to the look of
MICHAEL'S.
MICHAEL
I don't recall asking your name
DONALD'S over the top pleasant expression ceases as his eyes open wide and
his mouth curls down
DONALD
You know what Mr; you're not very nice
MICHAEL
(Mutters) what else is new?
DONALD
In fact you're so not very nice, that
DONALD briefly stutters as he tries to think of what to say
DONALD
That
He stutters again, briefer this time
DONALD
That I'm, just
(His smile creeps slowly back onto his face)
DONALD (cont)
Going to have to cheer you up!
MICHAEL roles his eyes while closing his eyelids for an overdue period of
time, he then glances down at his drink and downs the rest of it.
MICHAEL stands up, looks at the barmaid and tosses her a few notes of
money, with which he winks at her, while still maintaining no emotion. The
barmaid replies with a huge smile while looking away from Michael blushing
with excitement and embarrassment.
Michael goes for the door and walks to:
EXT: CITY STREET DAY
Donald has now begun to follow Michael with a quick pace, not trying to
shadow himself but rather get Michael's attention.

DONALD
HEY, HEY, WAIT UP!
MICHAEL
What do you want from me?
Michael turns sharply to confront the annoying man
DONALD
You never told me your name
MICHAEL
This is all you want? Look I'm a man myself; I know that when men say
something they usually want something more, so what is it?
DONALD
Are you coming on to me?
Michael glares at Donald for a period of time, keeping his silence and mood
intact
MICHAEL
Goodbye
Michael turns away to walk on, while Donald realises that his playfulness
was probably not the best of things to do
DONALD
Wait wait wait, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend
Michael stops walking
DONALD (cont)
I just thought that you looked a little bummed, that's all, thought you
might want someone to talk to.
CAMERA CUTS TO Michael, looking down, sincerely unhappy, showing that
Donald has touched on to his emotions.
MICHAEL
Michael. My name's Michael.
Michael begins to walk off; Donald is shown behind him in the distance
DONALD
See you around Michael.
MICHAEL WALKS OUT OF THE FRAME, leaving Donald in the background, left with
a toned down smile on his face which no longer seems mocking or
unintelligent, but rather appreciation, as if he has made a breakthrough.
CUTS TO
Michael walking through the city streets, there is no one around and the
night sky is beginning to creep up on the daylight. There is a creepy sense
in the setting and surroundings, it seems that Michael is all alone in a

ghost town, which is usually a busy city central.

Then

POV SHOT. High above the streets on a building, someone is spying on
Michael, carefully following him walk unhurriedly down the street.
A husky, evil sounding voice then whispers; "Brother". Which then

INT: BENTELLI'S PENTHOUSE NIGHT
A paper slams down hard on a desk, the headline is now the focus of the
camera, reading: EVIL DEMON CAUSES TERROR FOR VILLAINS: BUT IS THIS MYTH A
VILLAIN HIMSELF?
The camera then pans up to show Anthony Bentelli's face with a disgusted
and vile look on his face;
BENTELLI
CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS SHIT?!
Bentelli's assistant nervously looks around in a quick motion, unable to
react to his boss's seemingly rhetorical question.
ASSISTANT
Nnno sir.
BENTELLI
We are being made a mockery of by the media. How am I supposed to be taken
seriously with all these stories of ghost and goblins floating around my
business?
ASSISTANT
Perhaps you should pull out your men on tonight's robbery of the uptown
bank.
Bentelli looks at his assistant with a bewildered look
BENTELLI (sounding angry)
What?
The assistant looks even more nervous as he voices out his unneeded opinion
ASSISTANT
Well, boss, you don't want this demon interfering again do you? I mean,
what if the same thing happens as before, you'll be finished and it will
all be thanks to this demon.
Bentelli puts his hands on head in disbelief, looking strained by his
assistant's lack of sceptic sense
BENTELLI
You have got to be kidding me. I don't believe this stupid story; no one

should believe it, especially not my own staff. In factYOU'RE FIRED! No

wait, better yet your not fired, but I guess I will have to teach you NOT
TO BE SUCH A STUPID MORON!
As Bentelli yells at his assistant, he flaps the newspaper in his hand
frantically, then as he is finished shouting he throws the paper at his
assistant which hits him square on the forehead.
BENTELLI
Now how about you mobilise my troops and get them ready for this job. I
don't want any screw ups involving misinformed workers of mine, scared of
their own shadows just because some whack down at the local type and print
decided to fabricate my business into some farce using his comic book
imagination to get exaggerated headline's out for more readers.
ASSISTANT
Yes sir
Bentelli's assistant walks out the door, whilst Bentelli watches him, hawk
eyed, leave the room. He then turns murmuring something under his breath
with an irritated look on his face.
Bentelli then picks up his remote to his TV and switches it on.
It is a local news channel with a male newsreader at a desk, looking up
from his notes about to start the next topic;
NEWSREADER
And in local news, everyone is talking about the mysterious demon that is
stalking the nights in prowl for wrong doers and crooks, is this simply
myth or is it in fact
Bentelli scowls at the newsreader, tensing himself all over, clearly
building up rage inside. Then Bentelli cocks back his arm, screams out and
throws the remote at the TV, causing it to break through the screen and
cause a slight explosion. Which then

their job.

them.

Bentelli's men are driving through the city, fairly recklessly, as if they
want the job done and finished as soon as possible. People turn in the
streets as loud screeches are heard from the van turning sharp corners.

CLOSE UP SHOT OF ALL BENTELLI'S MEN. There are seven of them in all, each

EXT: UPTOWN BANK NIGHT
The men open the doors and rush into the bank, carrying large brown sacks
in their hands.
CUTS TO
INT: UPTOWN BANK NIGHT
All of the men rush over to a large vault. Professionally like clockwork,
all the men get into position and begin using tools such as blowtorches to
open the vault.
The men using the blowtorches look confident in this moment, at work, not
really displaying any sense of emotion on their faces as they are in a
relaxing place, which is their comfort zone. The other men look on
uneasily, standing idly by, with sweat dripping from their faces.
The vault door springs open, the men's faces grimace as they expect the
unexpected, but nothing is there to greet them. After collecting themselves
the men wonder into the vault and begin filling up the moneybags, grabbing
fistfuls of money and shoving them as quickly as possible into the bags.
The men then walk out of the vault, cautiously at first, but then
disbelief. Nothing bad happened to them, they pulled off the job.
The men look at each other, excitement running through their veins, smiles
begin to appear on their faces. Eye contact between the men looks
congratulating. Little, almost silent laughs escape a few of the men, they
have done it, surely their boss will be promoted and in turn repay them for
their brilliant work. Then
SHOCK CUT TO

Glass window on the roof smashes open, the silhouette man from before
crashes down, it is the same man who foiled the bank robbery from before,
only to take the money for himself.
The men sharply look, clearly startled by the arrival of the "mythical
demon".
Five of the seven men pull out pistols, whilst the other two pull out sub
machine guns, prepared for something to happen, but not ready or able to
deal with it.
Each man lets out a frustrated scream as they all fire aimlessly with
shaking hands at the "demon".
The "demon" cloaks himself with his trench coat, runs in a circle around
the men and unleashes the sharp objects connected to thin wire, which he
concealed under his forearms and wrists.
This motion pulls all the men together, trapped and unable to budge.
Allowing the "demon" to jump above them and begin kicking the men in their
chins and faces, rendering them unconscious. As the "demon" lands on the
ground he applies a few punches to the remaining conscious men.
Standing alone, the "demon" walks calmly and slowly towards the bags filled
with money. Picking up several bags and positioning them beneath the
shattered window to which he entered from.
Using the metallic wire connected objects he hoists himself up onto the
roof and drops the moneybags off, returning back down to collect the
remaining bags, positions them like he did with the others, raises his hand
just about to release the metallic object but
VOICE
HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!
The Demon turns round; a brief look of confusion fills his face. Greeting
him at the bank doors is four armed policemen, aiming their guns directly
at the "demon". He quickly pulls his arm down aiming at the policemen, but
they fire.
Most shots miss, but a few hit the "demon".
Clearly injured the "demon" fires one of his metallic objects at the roof
above the policemen, pulling down and causing the roof to fall on top of
the policemen.
Then the "demon" uses his other hand to fire the other metallic object,
pulling himself up, holding his wounds, displaying pain and agony,
forgetting about the other moneybags he has left in the bank.
CUTS TO
EXT: UPTOWN BANK ROOF NIGHT
The "demon" grabs the moneybags, and runs away from the scene, dragging one
leg behind and clutching his chest. His trench coat stained with blood.

CUTS TO
POV SHOT, someone watching the "Demon" escaping along the rooftops. The
person mutters "MICHAEL" as they watch the "Demon" run off into the night.
CUTS TO
EXT: DARK ALLEY NIGHT
The "demon" falls against a wall and slides down. He pulls off his mask
revealing himself to be Michael Knightson, looking down at the mask as if
it were another persons face Michael whispers "NIGHT STALKER" Revealing the
name of the "demon" alter ego. He catches his breath, pulls himself back
up, slips the mask back on and walks slowly and awkwardly through the empty
night streets.
CUTS TO
EXT: WOODED FOREST NIGHT
Night stalker is running frenetically, looking over his shoulder from time
to time, wide eyed and clearly in masses of pain.
He approaches a seemingly derelict house, in the middle of nowhere, and
then goes through two doors hidden by thick bushes, to the attic of the
house.
CUTS TO
INT: ATTIC OF HOUSE NIGHT
Michael takes off his mask and drops it to the ground. Breathing heavily
with an arched back and holding his body tightly he walks very slowly over
to a small grave sized pit and drops the moneybags into it, with a lot more
of moneybags partially covered by mud in the pit.
Michael sits at a small desk, surveying his body for bullet hole wounds,
finding a total of three (one in his thigh, one in his chest and another in
his right forearm).
He grabs a scalpel and cuts his skin, grimacing in unbearable pain, but not
making a sound.
He spoons out one bullet and leans back in a relaxed movement. Then almost
instantly realising it is not over, leans forward again and begins to
scalpel some more.

EXT: UPTOWN BANK DAY

NEWS REPORTER
This is the scene of yet another bank robbery, yet uncommon these days, the
first set of would be criminals were detained by the mythical creature or
man many are labelling the Demon. But this is now not an old wives tale but
very much true. Police officers saw first hand the mysterious man who has
been terrorising those who are not too unlike from himself, a cold-hearted
criminal.
The police department has issued a warrant for the arrest of this
mastermind criminal, for accounts of grand larceny, damage to state
property and GBH charges to three police officers who attempted to arrest
this scandalous individual in last nights robbery, although not all the
details have been released to us for legal reasons, we can tell you that
this Demon was fired upon and may have suffered several injuries. It may
not be long before this individual is brought down by the justice system.

Thanks Terrance. In related news a local homeless man has brought to the

I'm ruined
Anthony Bentelli picks himself up from his chair, walking aimlessly over to
the large window facing out over the city.
Bentelli looks down on the city and lets out a small sigh, looking
depressed and fearing his end is nigh.
Bentelli's assistant enters the room.
ASSISTANT
What's the matter sir?
Bentelli looks slowly up from the ground to look straight ahead, still
looking depressed. Then his face becomes livid. He turns around fast and
aggressively now looking in the direction of his assistant.
BENTELLI
I CAN'T BELIEVE THE MEDIA. CAN YOU BELIEVE THEM?
ASSISTANT

Well
BENTELLI
All they do is make up these stupid stories of men dressing up in gimp
masks and parading around like some sort of super villain, it's pathetic
and quite frankly it's making me sick. This Night stalker, who the hell
writes this crap, and who the hell believes this crap? I certainly don't.
MYSTERIOUS MAN
Night stalker is very much real.
Bentelli turns around bemused by the presence of another person, turning
his head from left to right to see where the voice came from, but finding
nothing.
BENTELLI
Who said that?
No answer
BENTELLI
Come on, I'm not afraid.
Bentelli's hands start to shake as he raises them and curls them up into
fists.
MYSTERIOUS MAN
Relax. I am not your enemy.
BENTELLI
Who are you?
From the darkest shadows in the corner of Bentelli's room materializes a
man dressed in a black suit covered by golden body armour. Wearing a golden
helmet with slits at the mouth and a long black cloak.
MYSTERIOUS MAN
I, am DEMON STALKER.
BENTELLI
What do you want from me?
DEMON STALKER
It appears we have a common enemy. I have stood in your shadow for long
enough, watching your mediocre skills as a boss of crime, silently
condemning every decision you make and your lack of a backbone.
BENTELLI
How dare you, you come into my company dressed like some comic book freak,
telling me we have a common enemy and then you decide to disrespect me, no
one disrespects me.
Demon stalker walks over to Bentelli and grabs him by the throat, not even
breaking his stride. He then picks him up off the ground with one hand,
pushing his face up close while Bentelli struggles for a breath and is
evidently startled by Demon stalkers strength.

DEMON STALKER
EVERYONE DISRESPECTS YOU. We may have a common enemy, but that does not
mean we are equal. I have no equal. I am offering my help to you; it would
be wise for you to take it. I don't usually play the Boy Scout very often,
and I have no problem changing my mind right about now.
Bentelli still struggles for air and forces out a few words
BENTELLI (gasping)
O.K.
Demon stalker lets go of Bentelli's throat and drops him to the ground.
DEMON STALKER
Good, I'm glad you could see my point of view.
Demon stalker turns away from Bentelli and looks at Bentelli's room,
looking up slowly to view the various pieces of art on the wall.
Bentelli picks himself up off the floor and eyes Demon stalker up, still a
bit shocked by the resent twist of proceedings.
BENTELLI
So what is it that you want from me?
Demon stalker still faces the opposite way to Bentelli and takes a moment
to answer him.
DEMON STALKER
A way in.
Bentelli looks confused moving his eyes from left to right, thinking that a
deeper explanation was going to be instructed.
BENTELLI
What?
Demon stalker turns around to face Bentelli
DEMON STALKER
It's perfect. No one would expect a mediocre crime boss to be housing the
ace up his sleeve.
BENTELLI
Can you please stop calling me mediocre?
Demon stalker ignores Bentelli
DEMON STALKER
All I need from you is your support, and then you gain the keys to the
city. A little help and you get what you are always after.
Bentelli looks confused at Demon stalkers cryptic answers
BENTELLI

So let me get this straight. I provide you with a little help and you
return the favour by giving me the city?
Demon stalker nods slowly to Bentelli
BENTELLI
How can I believe you?
Demon stalker edges his way a little towards Bentelli
DEMON STALKER
How about I show you.
BENTELLI
Huh?
DEMON STALKER
Your boss, the one who is always on your case, the one you fear.
BENTELLI
Wow, how long have you been hiding in that dark spot?
DEMON STALKER
Silence. This boss, give me his details and he will no longer pose a threat
to you.
BENTELLI
What that's it?
DEMON STALKER
Yes
BENTELLI
Hey if that's all you need then you can have my dentist's details too.
DEMON STALKER
It is not smart for you joke, I could still take my business elsewhere.
BENTELLI
Sorry
DEMON STALKER
I will need your word that you will repay your debt to me. Otherwise I will
have ease in coming back for you.
BENTELLI
You have my word
DEMON STALKER
Good. I trust we can now arrange a way of disposing of the Night stalker.
BENTELLI
What's the deal with that guy, why are you so interested in a super crook?
DEMON STALKER
I ask the questions around here, and seeing as I know all I need to know, I

guess I'll be going.

Demon stalker walks over to Bentelli's large window overlooking the city
and opens it.
BENTELLI
Going where?
DEMON STALKER
Back to work.
Demon stalker proceeds to jump out of the window.
Bentelli is no longer surprised by anything and dismisses a man jumping out
of his window, instead turning to his assistant who has been standing by
unnoticed by both Demon stalker and Bentelli.
BENTELLI
What are you looking at?

The boy is entranced by the shadow, looking at his chest, and then looking

Another shadow is cast on the boy's back, the shadow of a boy. The shadow

The beautiful woman's smile vanishes and is replaced by an open mouthed

Michael begins to pull himself up, trying to sit in the bed.

The nurse rushes over to Michael, ready to get him back to lying down.

Michael enters the room slowly and cautiously, as if he was dressed in his
Night stalker outfit lurking from the shadows.
Dian raises a little smile and lowers her head a little
DIAN
Don't be shy. I won't bite.
Michael fully enters the room and closes the door. He waits by the door for
instructions on what to do next.
DIAN
Please, take a seat
Dian points over to the long couch.
Michael walks over to the couch, he has yet to take a proper look at Dian.
Michael gradually lowers himself to the couch and looks up at Dian. Michael
is stunned by the beauty of Dian and displays a surprised look on his face.
Dian looks up at Michael and catches his gawk, she unveils an inviting and
slightly embarrassed smile on her face.
Michael replies with a smile of his own, something he rarely does.
DIAN
So, I trust you have been informed about me and what it is I will achieve
with you
MICHAEL
Yes, they told me all I needed to know about the sort of work you will be
doing with me. They also told me about you
Dian looks confused
DIAN
About me?
MICHAEL
Yes, they told me you were the best therapist around; no one could touch
you, in terms of ability.
Dian looks embarrassed again and lets another smile creep out on her face;
she looks down at her notes

DIAN
Well, I don't know about thauh, how about we get this session underway?
MICHAEL
Ok
DIAN
Now Michael, I want you to lie down on the couch and relax
Michael looks unhappy
MICHAEL
It seems all I've done lately is lie down
DIAN
Yes but this is different than some hospital bed, we are going to delve
into your mind and discover what it is that you keep such a guarded secret
from everyone
Michael leans forward slightly and looks Dian right in the eyes
MICHAEL
Trust me, you wouldn't like what you find
Dian is unfazed by Michael's sudden change of characteristic
DIAN
I'll be the judge of that. Trust me Michael, I'm a very open person you
don't have to hide anything from me, relax and don't hold anything back
Michael continues to lock eyes with Dian, and then sinks into the couch
until he is lying down.
DIAN
Good, now I want you to begin by telling me something that happened to you
in the past, something that you cannot forget and is as clear as day to you
MICHAEL
Anything?
DIAN
Yes, but it must be the very thing that sticks out in your mind the most

Ok.
Michael keeps his eyes open

The last man stands alone, not knowing what to do with himself, looking at

Night stalker turns his head, still holding on to the man.

Demon stalker surveys the damage

Even your dress sense is marginally better, you're no Night stalker but

Night stalker bursts forward towards Demon stalker and immediately throws a
punch to which Demon stalker tilts his head slightly, avoiding the fist
with pin point accuracy

romantic love story that you retell your children; this was quite a surreal
relationship that you would have trouble retelling and justifying to
anyone.
One of the figures is the same beautiful woman from the flashback before;
the other is a handsome man. They look lovingly into each other's eyes and
start to kiss.
MICHAEL (VO CONT)
You see, my father
The man changes from a man into the Devil whilst still kissing the woman,
she does not recoil from her sensual embrace with the Devil, as if she
knows what he is.
MICHAEL (VO CONT)
Was, the DEVIL!
CUTS TO
MICHAEL (VO CONT)
When I was born, it only increased my mother and father's happiness
A boy is born, the couple are happy, but a small boy is scowling at the
baby
MICHAEL (VO CONT)
My brother on the other hand was not as happy as our parents
CUTS TO
MICHAEL (VO CONT)
As I grew older, it became apparent to me why my father had me. It seems he
wanted me as some kind of warrior, the ultimate warrior. Thinking that
fusing the mortal genes of my mother with his immortal genes would create
the perfect being. Unfortunately for my mother and I, I was wrong

The Devil, now shown as the man shouts at his son who is a young boy at the
age of around ten, who is standing with his top off exposing a skinny body.
He is standing in front of two large bags of coal. The Devil pushes the
boy's head down, instructing him to pick up the bags.
MICHAEL (VO CONT)
My mother loved me so much that she was willing to look the Devil himself
in the eyes, and degrade him, despite the fact that it could put her own
life at risk
The mother runs up to the father and slaps him hard around the face; he
turns his head towards the mother and raises his fist, holding it in the
air. He then cracks a menacing smile at the mother. The Devil then points
into the distance and looks at the mother and the son.
CUTS TO
MICHAEL (VO CONT)
We were outcastes from our home, banished by the father and lover, and
watched with hatred by his son. That was the price of not meeting up to
expectations and standing up to a bully, punishment for being human
The mother and son walk away from the Devil and the elder son who are in
the distance. The elder son is shielded by his father. CLOSE UP OF ELDEST
SON who looks at the younger son, his eyes burning with rage.
CUTS TO
MICHAEL (VO CONT)
We adapted to life well, we didn't have much, but we could survive on love.
A lot of people take that for granted, but it is the thing your body needs
more than food and water, and the materialistic things most shower
themselves with. Until that fateful day, it felt like we had it all. I
believe it was my father, who else could it be? He decided to pay me a
visit, a brief distraction, delaying the inevitable I guess, I have no
doubt in my mind they would have returned if they did not succeed. But that
doesn't stop it hurting
The younger boy is now a few years older, a teenager. He is walking along,
a shadow appears behind him, and consumes him, fists come flying at the boy
from the darkness, the shadow bears the emblem, which is on Night stalker's
chest onto the boy's chest.
CUTS TO
MICHAEL (VO CONT)
I knew instantly that it had all been a set up; I wanted to believe they
had failed, but deep down, I knew what had happened
The boy ENTERS a small apartment. The apartment is a mess; everything has
been knocked over and lays trashed on the floor.
Blood is also spurted all over the floor and up the walls.
The boy looks shocked and rushes in and begins looking around worriedly.

CUT TO
INT: APARTMENT BEDROOM NIGHT
The boy ENTERS the room and immediately displays a distraught appearance on
his face
CUTS TO SHORT SECOND LOOK AT THE MOTHER'S FACE, COVERED IN BLOOD AND
LIFELESSNESS
CUTS TO
INT: APARTMENT FRONT ROOM NIGHT
The boy rushes out of the bedroom and runs over to an open window
The boy looks out the window and is greeted by thunder and lightning. When
the lightning ends, we switch to
BOY'S POV unidentified male covered in black clothing runs off down the
streets
MICHAEL (VO CONT)
The brother had returned, I never saw his face, but I didn't need to, I
knew it was him, running, returning to the shadows like the coward he is
CUTS TO
The boy's eyes close shut, and tighten
MATERIALISE TO
Michael's eyes are shut in the same way as the boy's, in both cases it is
as if it won't happen if he closes his eyes and does not see it.
CUT TO
Dian looks up from her notes, feeling that Michael has come to the end of
his memory.
DIAN
I didn't realise we were going to make such a breakthrough on you opening
up to me on such an early set of appointments
Michael opens his eyes, emerging from the past and returning to the present
DIAN (cont)
Your explanation of your troubled life intrigues me, but there is still
more to uncover, as much as you let out, you covered more in enigma. I
intend to help you release your demons and come to terms with them.
A timer sounds, Dian looks over and presses it silencing the noise
DIAN
Oh shoot, that's the end of our session. Listen I want you to think about

all you've said today, think about what it all means then in our next
appointment we can go a little bit further. At your own pace of course,
whatever is comfortable with you
Michael slowly gets up from the couch and heads for the door
MICHAEL
Thanks for helping me. I feel comfortable talking to you then anyone I've
ever met before
DIAN
You are coming back aren't you?
MICHAEL
Yeah, sure
Dian lets a smile come back on her face
DIAN
That's great. Well I guess I'll be seeing you around then
MICHAEL
Ok then, see you around
DIAN
Bye
Michael LEAVES the room with a smile on his face
Dian looks down at the ground, thinking of something, she grins a little
and then sighs
CUTS TO
EXT: THERAPY OFFICE DAY
Michael LEAVES the therapy office and begins walking down the street
CUTS TO
INT: BENTELLI'S PENTHOUSE NIGHT
Demon stalker is standing by Bentelli's large window as Bentelli approaches
him
BENTELLI
Thinking about something Demon stalker?
DEMON STALKER
Yes, I think it is time we made our presence felt a little bit more to
Night stalker. Turn the heat up in the kitchen so to speak
BENTELLI
What do you have in mind? Another attack?

DEMON STALKER
Something along those lines
Demon stalker begins to grin which could be mistaken for a snarl as rain
begins to pour down from outside
CUTS TO
INT: THERAPY OFFICE DAY
Dian is sitting in her chair with Michael sitting on the couch
Dian is looking at her notes thinking of what next to ask
DIAN
Tell me of your love relationships
CAMERA SWITCHES TO MICHAEL
MICHAEL
I haven't really been in love before
DIAN
You've never been in love? Have you ever been in a relationship before?
MICHAEL
Relationships are hard to come by in my lifestyle; I've had a few, but not
many
DIAN
Why does your lifestyle not allow you to have many relationships?
MICHAEL
I justyou know how you go home to your husband
DIAN
I'm not married
MICHAEL
Boyfriend then
DIAN
Wrong again
Michael looks confused
MICHAEL
You mean your single?
DIAN
Pretty much
MICHAEL
That's hard to believe. Why is that then?
DIAN

Well you know, I rarelyumm, I think we should be getting back to you

MICHAEL
Ok, the truth is, at this point in my life I've not even found out who I am
yet, I don't have time to discover who someone else is. I only have time
for myself at the moment
Dian looks from her notes to Michael and back to her notes frantically,
trying to catch Michael's expressions
DIAN
Maybe you just haven't found the right woman yet
Michael is speechless. He adjusts his head so that he is looking at Dian,
she looks up from her notes and gazes back, both of them are looking at
each other
MICHAEL
Well if you sent me in the right direction of her, maybe I could be
persuaded
DIAN
Well, I
Suddenly Dian's timer begins to buzz
DIAN
OH, shoot. Listen I was thinking
Dian's door suddenly flies open followed by a loud BANG
Demon stalker ENTERS the room without his Demon suit and helmet on, dressed
like a normal citizen
DEMON STALKER
Not interrupting anything am I?
DIAN
No we were just finishing our session, this is my new client Mr
DEMON STALKER
Andrew Bentelli, cousin to the ever-popular Anthony Bentelli
Michael rises from the couch, as does Dian from her chair, they are very
close to each other unfazed by each other in their personal space
MICHAEL
I look forward to pursuing this session again sometime soon
DIAN
I'll see you around
MICHAEL
Yeah
Michael walks away from Dian out of the door and brushes past Demon stalker

DEMON STALKER
(Whispers) see you aroundMichael
Michael turns his head dramatically, wondering how this man knew his name
Michael stands still for a while frozen by the paranoia seeping into him
The door closes with Demon stalker standing near Michael but on the other
side of the door with a sinister smile on his face and Michael standing
looking over his shoulder with a cautious look on his face
CUTS TO
EXT: CITY STREETS DAY
Michael walks the streets with his head down slightly, still showing
confusion on his face from his unbeknownst encounter with Demon stalker
Michael is not looking where he is going and collides into a man and knocks
him to the ground without realising at first
MICHAEL
I'm sorry I wasn't looking where I was going
The man looks up at Michael; it is the face of Donald
DONALD
Hello stranger
MICHAEL
Donald?
DONALD
Yep, and hey no worries about knocking me over, happens all the time no
apologies needed
Michael helps pick Donald up off the floor
DONALD
You looked like you were somewhere else, got something on your mind?
MICHAEL
Sort of
DONALD
Wanna share them with me?
MICHAEL
It's a little complicated
DONALD
Ah, women trouble
MICHAEL
You could say that

DONALD
Yep yep, I know how that is, believe it or not I use to have many women
back in my day, yeah they called me Don -won ald, not very catchy but you
get the gist of it
MICHAEL
That's, great Donald
DONALD
If you're looking to impress a certain lady then all you got to do is be
yourself
MICHAEL
(Whispers) I don't even know who I am myself
DONALD
Huh?
MICHAEL
Nothing. Hey Donald do you know anything about the Bentelli family?
DONALD
Sure, everyone here knows about the Bentelli'es, I'm surprised you don't
know yourself
MICHAEL
Do you know of an Andrew Bentelli?
DONALD
Who?
MICHAEL
Andrew Bentelli. Cousin to Anthony Bentelli
Donald thinks for a moment
DONALD
Nope, there aint no cousin Andrew. Why do you ask?
MICHAEL
I just need some information that's all
DONALD
Well if you want information on Anthony Bentelli then I got bucket loads
MICHAEL
Really?
DONALD
Yeah, have you heard about that mysterious new costume freak, I think his
name is Demon stalker?
MICHAEL
Yeah I've heard a little bit about him, sounds to me like some corny
character made up by some bum. What's this have to do with Anthony

Bentelli?
DONALD
Well first off this Demon stalker is real and the rumour is that he is
working with Anthony Bentelli
MICHAEL
Why would they be working together?
DONALD
Well it's been said that this Demon stalker has got some personal vendetta
with Night stalker
Michael looks shocked
MICHAEL
WHAT? WHY?
DONALD
Who knows, but this Demon stalker aint a nice guy
MICHAEL
Tell me about it
DONALD
What?
Michael looks slightly nervous
MICHAEL
You know, from all this talk about him, he sounds like a nasty guy, plus
teaming with Bentelli isn't something you would put on your CV
DONALD
Yeah exactly. Anyway this Demon stalker is quite the powerful bodyguard,
and he has promised Bentelli that he will run this city's crime side if he
helps him out
MICHAEL
Helps him out with what?
DONALD
You know, troops finances maybe, and the head of Night stalker
MICHAEL
So is this Demon stalker working for Bentelli?
DONALD
Heck no, if anything Bentelli is working for Demon stalker, they both win
though if it all goes to plan
MICHAEL
If what goes to plan?
DONALD
Their whole operation, but I think this Night stalker is the only thing

stopping them from carrying out the rest of their plans

MICHAEL
So they want Night stalker out of the picture
DONALD
Yep. Boy I would hate to be Night stalker right now, he's got the cops
after him and now Bentelli and especially Demon stalker are out to get him
Michael looks down to the ground, processing everything he has just heard
DONALD
Why did you want to know all that again?
Michael still looks down at the ground
DONALD
Michael? HEY MICHAEL!
Michael looks up sharply at Donald
MICHAEL
I was just exploring more about this Bentelli; I didn't know he was so
heavily connected to this Demon stalker
DONALD
Yeah it is hard to believe, I mean sure he's a crook and he used to be a
bad one but now all of a sudden his boss is dead and he's on top of the
world, makes you think about all these rumours you hear doesn't it, maybe
they are not all just fiction made up by someone, maybe they have more
truth to them then you are led to believe
MICHAEL
Yeah, I know exactly what you are talking about
DONALD
What is the world coming to? There are all these guys running around in
masks, yet none of them are heroes, we've got enough bad in this world, the
last thing we need is more of it
Michael looks shocked at Donald's statement, then slowly lowers his head,
ashamed in the truth of it
DONALD (cont)
Where's the guy who is going to deliver us from evil? I've seen too much of
it lately never mind the fact that I've been seeing it all through my life
Michael nods his head in agreement to Donald
DONALD (cont)
Sorry, guess I got a little bit carried away with myself there
MICHAEL
It's ok, you have every right to be annoyed, I see where you are coming
from

DONALD
It just makes it hard to believe in good, and justice anymore
MICHAEL
I know
Donald sighs
DONALD
Well I should be going now; I'll see you around
MICHAEL
Yeah, see you aroundDonald
Donald walks off, while Michael watches him, obviously thinking of what
Donald said and how it was indirectly motivated towards him
MICHAEL
See you around
CUTS TO
EXT: CITY STREETS NIGHT
Dian Venett is walking down the lonely dark city streets, going home from
finishing her job for the day
CUTS TO
EXT: CITY STREETS/ROOFTOPS NIGHT
Night stalker peers over the roofs to catch a glimpse of Dian, he begins
following her moves atop of the buildings. He stops and watches her walk
off, clutching his chin in his thumb and index finger, contemplating his
next move
CUTS TO
EXT: CITY STREETS NIGHT
Dian stops walking and moves her head slightly and slowly, looking as if
feeling a presence of someone following her
Dian dismisses her feelings by temporarily shrugging her shoulders and
begins to walk off again
Suddenly a shadowed form appears from above in front of Dian, which is
quickly realised to be Night stalker
Dian, too frightened to scream takes a step back with a face of horror
Night stalker has a brief smile on his face which disappears when realising
the shock he has administrated to Dian
Night stalker pauses unable to think quickly of anything to calm Dian down

NIGHT STALKER
Relax; I'm not the villian
Dian looks Night stalker in the eyes a little unconvinced with his
introduction
NIGHT STALKER (cont)
At least I don't want to be, not anymore
Dian still looks a little shaken up from Night stalker's arrival
DIAN
What do you want from me?
Night stalker's smile appears back on his face
NIGHT STALKER
You know these city streets are no place for a woman to be wondering alone,
late at night. Especially not a pretty one such as yourself
Dian looks a bit embarrassed by Night stalker's flattery, but then collects
herself
DIAN
That's rich coming from you
Night stalker is taken aback by Dian's sudden outburst
DIAN (cont)
And besides I wasn't wondering the streets I was walking home from work,
geez you make me sound like some lady in red. I guess times have gotten
quite bad lately, with men running around in masks terrorising innocent
people of this city
Night stalker looks down to the ground; again he has been exposed for what
he is, or how he is seen
NIGHT STALKER
Look, I don't want to start making excuses for myself
DIAN
Do you know what the people think of you? They see you as a menace, pure
evil. Some are scared, too scared to even walk out their own front doors.
But the others, well the others want to tear you up and feed you to the
dogs. If I were you I would fear walking out of my own front door
Night stalker becomes upset with the abuse he has had to suffer
NIGHT STALKER
(Sternly) Hey, I'm going to ask you to shut up and your going to comply
with me, ok? Good
Dian looks shocked at Night stalker's turn of character
Night stalker takes a pause from speaking, thinking of what to say and how

to say it to Dian
NIGHT STALKER
I admit I'm not going to win the nicest guy of the year award. I also will
admit that I deserve the hatred of a lot of people. But I am not the
villain, not a true villain. I stopped all those crooks from making off
with that money, sure I took it but I stopped the bad guys.
DIAN
You're not really doing well at convincing me
Night stalker again searches for the right way to convince Dian of his
innocence
NIGHT STALKER
You know how you do something bad, but you see it as doing good?
DIAN
No
NIGHT STALKER
Um, ok. When you do something bad, you get this feeling of guilt, yeah?
DIAN
Right
NIGHT STALKER
Well all the bad stuff I have done has been to some of the lowest forms of
scum, so tell me doing wrong to scum, would that fill you with guilt?
DIAN
Well, nobut it's not as simple as that is it?
NIGHT STALKER
Why not?
DIAN
Well look at those cops you hurt, they were seriously injured because of
you, how do you justify that?
NIGHT STALKER
I, I can't. All I can do is say that was an accident, a mistake. I don't
want to get in any trouble for causing pain to those that don't deserve it.
I'm not on some crusade to rectify wrong or be apart of the wrong; I'm just
a man with a very bizarre background. I guess that would make it hard for
you to understand where I am coming from
Dian looks at Night stalker confused
DIAN
Try me
NIGHT STALKER
No, it doesn't matter. Listen I realise that I have been a menace I will
admit to that, but I'm not evil. You have to believe me when I tell you
that I am not all full of sin

Dian displays a look of sadness, trying hard to believe Night stalker's

words but unable to
DIAN
I really, find that hard to believe
NIGHT STALKER
I want to live a normal life now
DIAN
What do you mean?
NIGHT STALKER
I want to throw away all my demons, clean the skeletons out of my closet.
But first I must do something
DIAN
Do what?
NIGHT STALKER
I, I have toI have to deliver myself redemption
Dian looks confused
NIGHT STALKER (cont)
I have to deliver myself redemption by delivering it to this city. A mass
of evil is forming here, I need to stop it. I am the only one who can do it
DIAN
Do what?
NIGHT STALKER
Listen to me, I'm going to save this city from being ruled by complete
evil, in turn saving myself, then I can become normal another face in the
crowd, no longer stalking the shadows
Dian chuckles in disbelief
DIAN (smiling)
There is no such thing as normal
NIGHT STALKER
That's not how I see it. Gazing out from the darkness, that's all I see.
Normal people leading normal lives, I resent that. Some people think it's
fun to be the centre of attention, I myself hate it. How would you cope
with everyone talking about you, divided loyalties, some hate some fear,
little like
Dian is unable to answer
NIGHT STALKER
All I want now is to become like all the other citizens of this city, just
a statistic
Dian cannot make sense of what Night stalker is saying

NIGHT STALKER
I better be going now, I think it's time I practise what I preach
DIAN
What are you saying?
NIGHT STALKER
I'm saying that I'm going to pay Anthony Bentelli a little visit
Night stalker runs down an alley with Dian following after him
DIAN
WAIT, I
Night stalker has vanished; Dian looks down the alley troubled by her
emotions over what she has just heard
CUTS TO
INT: BENTELLI'S PENTHOUSE NIGHT
Bentelli is dancing around his room, overly joyful at his recent run to the
top of the crime league
BENTELLI
I can't believe this, after all this time, all the sacrifices all of my
blood sweat and tears things are finally happening for me. And to put the
cherry on top, all of it was done my way, with my own two hands
ASSISTANT
Sir aren't you forgetting the help from demon.
BENTELLI
Don't you EVER get tired of being a complete imbecile?
ASSISTANT
Well sir I don't think that's quite fair of you to
BENTELLI
FAIR? Fair? You don't know the meaning of the word fair. It's people like
me, people who set out their goals and get the job done, it's us who know
what fair is. You get what you give; everyone gets their comeuppance it's
just a matter of when
Bentelli begins to walk like a dictator, clasping his hands behind his back
BENTELLI (cont)
You see, I wasn't afraid to look a demon in the eye and make a deal with
him, a deal to stop another demon interfering in my affairs. You could say
thatno wait I DID. I looked the Devil in the eyes and
NIGHT STALKER
That wasn't the devil you looked in the eyes. Believe me, I know
A shocked Bentelli turns around to see Night stalker approaching him from

his window
BENTELLI
NIGHT STALKER? OH MY GOD!
NIGHT STALKER
Nope, he can't help you now. Oh well, I guess now you will actually get to
look the devil in the eyes.
Bentelli backs up against a wall
BENTELLI
No, please don't hurt me, hurt my assistant, everyone wants to
Bentelli's assistant looks swiftly down at Bentelli shocked, then looks
rapidly up to Night stalker still shocked
Bentelli's assistant then runs out of the room screaming
BENTELLI
OK. Listen how bout I cut you a deal?
NIGHT STALKER
No deals
Bentelli runs over to his desk and crawls under it
BENTELLI
Please, please show mercy
Night stalker walks calmly over towards Bentelli
NIGHT STALKER
This ends here, right now
Bentelli crawls from out of his desk and places his hands on it. Shimming
from left to right, trying to mask the direction he will run in
BENTELLI
Look, your making a big mistake
Bentelli makes a run for the door
Night stalker casually reaches out an arm and grabs Bentelli by the hair
and drags him to his face. Night stalker looks Bentelli in the eyes,
frowning his face with anger.
Bentelli lets out a short and almost minute squealing noise
Night stalker throws Bentelli into the air, forcing him to land through his
desk
Bentelli lays dazed on the floor, but not out cold
BENTELLI
Uuuuhhhwhat the hell just happened?

Night stalker walks over to Bentelli and crouches down to him

NIGHT STALKER
What just happened was the beginning of the end for you. I'll admit you did
good while it lasted, but this is it, the final curtain
BENTELLI
You're a fine one to talk demon
Night stalker looks confused over Bentelli's words
BENTELLI
Yeah that's right, you're the one who beat me to the cash, now I'll admit
that the better thief one, but I'm a businessman and that's all you are, a
common thief
NIGHT STALKER
SHUT UP!
BENTELLI
Yeah, the truth hurts. Look at you acting all high and mighty, but the
truth is you're not even half the man I am
NIGHT STALKER
SHUT UP!
BENTELLI
What, did you think you were Robin Hood or something? Well did you give the
money to the poor? Of course not, you kept it for yourself. How dare you
come into my property and abuse me like this. Just because you're jealous
NIGHT STALKER
SHUT UP
BENTELLI
That's right, you're jealous of me
NIGHT STALKER
SHUT YOUR GODDAMN FACE UP!
BENTELLI
HIT A NERVE HAVE I? YOU AND I BOTH KNOW IT'S TRUE, DROP THE INNOCENT ACT,
YOU'RE JUST A CRIMINAL, SCUM AND YOU ALWAYS WILL BE!
NIGHT STALKER
I said SHUT UP!
Night stalker punches Bentelli in the face. Silencing him
NIGHT STALKER
I told you to shut up. Now I'm just going to have to teach you a lesson
Night stalker punches Bentelli again in the face. Then in the stomach
NIGHT STALKER

An example, yeah that's right. I'll make an example out of you

Night stalker picks up Bentelli and throws him up against the ceiling of
the room. Still holding on to him, Night stalker begins smacking him across
the face and then drops him hard onto the floor
NIGHT STALKER
I can see there is no need to try and convince you that the crime road
leads to a cesspool, you will never change. And as for turning you into the
cops, nah I don't think that would achieve anything, you'd be out in 3
months. The only way to really get any results is to rid the city of you.
I'll be like pest control, and you, you will be the big vermin terrorising
the city. You're what makes people afraid to step out of their homes, some
fear you while the others are hunting you, you're a marked man.
Night stalker begins kicking Bentelli across the floor
NIGHT STALKER
Your type, I know all too well, and they always get what's coming to them.
Debts need to be repaid to society. you need to repay society
A beat Bentelli looks up at Night stalker
BENTELLI
Ok, name your price. I'll pay anything
NIGHT STALKER
No, you don't get it do you?
Night stalker applies an extremely harsh kick to Bentelli's gut
NIGHT STALKER
You need to pay with your blood. I want to see your blood fall from the
sky, licking the faces of children and the elderly, letting them taste what
you have been tasting from them
Night stalker stands still and up straight
NIGHT STALKER (cont)
FEAR
Night stalker falls to his knees
NIGHT STALKER
Your fear, Anthony. I need you to realise before I kill you why I have done
it. I need to give something back to the city I have been a menace to. But
you have been a bigger one. One of us must kill the other. So I am making
sure that it is not I who is killed
A tear falls from Bentelli's eye and trickles down his cheek
NIGHT STALKER
That way we are both redeemed, you get to die in battle, and I get to live
a normal life. Something that I have never had before. A second chance to
live. Not for you though seeing as you ruined your first chance for a
normal life. Everything handed to you on a silver plate

BENTELLI
No. I was born into a life a crime, my father, my father's father and so
on. We have all been criminals. I was just following the bloodline
NIGHT STALKER
How unfortunate that you are the one that must die by my hand
Bentelli begins to sob uncontrollably
BENTELLI
Please no. It isn't my fault. Please don't do this to me
NIGHT STALKER
(Sternly) YOU'VE LEFT ME NO CHOICE
BENTELLI
NO, PLEASE GOD NO
Night stalker's face depicts anger as he clenches his fist ready to strike
the final blow, but then he lowers his hand and the anger disappears from
his face
NIGHT STALKER
What am I doing? Wouldn't I just be killing myself? I'm no killer, how will
this make me more normal?
Bentelli looks confused over Night stalker's one-sided conversation
NIGHT STALKER
WHAT AM I THINKING? I DON'T EVEN KNOW.
Night stalker puts his hands onto the temples of his head, troubled by his
lack of clear perspective
NIGHT STALKER (cont)
AARGH. WHY CAN'T I FIGURE OUT WHAT I'M SUPPOSED TO DO? No I must, it is the
only way. I can do it. I can save the normal citizens of the city and thus
become a normal citizen
Night stalker raises his fist again, but this time looks more determined
NIGHT STALKER
It is the only way
Night stalker's fist flies towards Bentelli's face
DEMON STALKER
KILLING BENTELLI WILL ONLY ISOLATE YOU MORE FROM THE PRECIOUS PEOPLE YOU
NOW SERVE TO PROTECT
Night stalker stops his fist inches away from Bentelli's face and looks
around to see Demon stalker standing in the doorway
DEMON STALKER
You will achieve nothing, only proving that you are a heartless monster by

killing a man who is weaker than you are just because you can and because
you're under the illusion that you need it to reform yourself. Although we
both know that is what you really are, fight it if you can, try and escape
your heritage.
Night stalker stares a hole through Demon stalker
DEMON STALKER (cont)
Or how about you fight the man who this is really about, why don't you
fight me?
Night stalker looks down to the crushed Bentelli, then back up to Demon
stalker
NIGHT STALKER
If I fight you I won't stop, and you will be killed
A smile appears on Demon stalker's face
DEMON STALKER
Kill me? HA HA HA! I have been watching you for what seems an eternity, I
know you inside out. You cannot kill me even if you tried; we both know
this, especially you
NIGHT STALKER
I guess we'll find out
Night stalker begins to approach Demon stalker, both fists clenched down by
his side
Demon stalker raises both his hands with a smug grin on his face
DEMON STALKER
Ready?
Without time for Night stalker to answer or even prepare himself, Demon
stalker throws a punch to which Night stalker arches his back and throwing
his head backwards with the punch narrowly missing him
Demon stalker goes to kick Night stalker's shins, which Night stalker
blocks and replies with a punch to the gut, which is blocked. Demon stalker
aims for the chest of Night stalker but his hand is pushed away allowing
Night stalker the opportunity to head butt Demon stalker. This sends Demon
stalker's head recoiling back, which then sets up Night stalker with an

panic button

A security guard sitting at a desk reading a magazine hears a beeping
sound. Looking away slowly from his magazine without caution, the guard

and begins to announce something over the speakers
SECURITY GUARD

Demon stalker turns around to face Night stalker, Night stalker immediately
grabs Demon stalker by the throat looking at him with hatred and disgust
Night stalker spits in Demon stalker's face and throws him to the ground
NIGHT STALKER
I thought you were going to teach me a lesson Demon stalker
Night stalker starts kicking Demon stalker, almost in the fashion as when
he kicked Bentelli across the floor
NIGHT STALKER
I guess when we last met I wasn't 100 percent. I wasn't the man that I
usually am. That's why you beat me. But guess what, I'm back to my common
self. So why don't you put up a decent fight?
Demon stalker flutters his eyes and then closes them. Then in one swift
motion Demon stalker jumps to his feet and smacks Night stalker across the
face
Night stalker wipes the blood from his mouth, as does Demon stalker
Night stalker and Demon stalker begin to laugh, then they look deeply at
each other, the laughter stops instantly

Demon stalker runs towards Night stalker, but is met by a stiff punch to
the gut
Demon stalker falls to his knees, his back is hunched forward and his head
is hanging down
Night stalker paces back and forth in front of Demon stalker, silently
showing his dominance
Bentelli's guards then ENTER the room, forming a circle around Night
stalker
Night stalker raises his fists slightly, as if ready to fight them all
A guard approaches with his night stick and shocks Night stalker, sending
him into agony and releasing an uncontrollable scream of pain
The guards pick up Bentelli off the floor, brushing the dust off of him.
Bentelli suddenly looks happy with himself
A few guards try to pick Demon stalker up off of the floor, but he pushes
them aside while snarling at them
BENTELLI
Oh thank you Demon stalker, thank you for saving my li

Bentelli's smile disappears from his face
GUARD
What do you want us to do with him?
The guard points down to Night stalker
BENTELLI
Kill him
DEMON STALKER
NO!
BENTELLI
What? He tried to kill us, both of us
DEMON STALKER
I make the decisions now. I want him kept alive for the time being, we have
much to discuss
The guards begin to rush around picking up Night stalker off the ground
BENTELLI

Of course you do
SWITCHES TO OVERHEAD VIEW OF DEMON STALKER AND NIGHT STALKER. NIGHT
STALKER'S HANDS AND FEET ARE TIED TO A METALLIC BOARD
DEMON STALKER
I sometimes wonder what it must be like to cower from the masses, hiding in
the shadows. Becoming a stalker of the Night. Tell me, does it live up to
it's expectations?
NIGHT STALKER
(Drowsily) Untie me
DEMON STALKER
No I'm afraid I can't do that. You see if I untie you, you will try to
fight me. I will obviously beat you down to the ground like a disobedient
dog, then I will have no other option except to smack you on the nose with
a newspaper, teaching the bitch a lesson so to speak.
Night stalker raises his head slightly
DEMON STALKER (cont)
Tell me how was life growing up. I mean you didn't have a father but you
did have a lot of love from your mother. You were always there for each
other weren't you?
NIGHT STALKER
What? How do you know?
DEMON STALKER
I say always but, well you know. There were certain things that happened
along your lonely road of life. Your mother was brutally murdered am I
correct?
NIGHT STALKER
How do you know this?
DEMON STALKER
I know much more than that. I know how it came to be that a woman fell in

love with the Devil himself. I know how the Devil's son was less than
thrilled to learn of his father's involvement with a mere mortal and their
offspring formed, created to become the definitive warrior. The bitter
disappointment that followed when the Devil realised that his new son was a
complete failure.
Night stalker looks up at Demon stalker, confused at his vast knowledge of
his life
DEMON STALKER (cont)
Your mother, she stood up for a pathetic weakling in yourself, and in doing
so looked down on the Devil himself, isn't that signing your death sentence
personally?
NIGHT STALKER
How do you know all of this, all of the things in my life?
A grin appears on Demon stalker's mouth
DEMON STALKER
You still don't get it do you. Do you know who killed your mother?
NIGHT STALKER
I have my theory
DEMON STALKER
I am willing to bet that your theory is closer to the truth then you
actually think yourself. Tell me the person who you think murdered your
mother, it's your
NIGHT STALKER
Brother
DEMON STALKER
Yes, you think that your brother killed your mother. But would he not be
killing his own mother?
NIGHT STALKER
No. My mother had nothing to do with the Devil's son. We were half
brothers.
DEMON STALKER
Yet you are still brothers to the bitter end
NIGHT STALKER
What the hell are you telling me here?
DEMON STALKER
Indeed, you have just answered your own question. I am telling you about
hell. But to be more specific how it has now evolved to hell on earth. You
know what I am talking about, please don't say that you are as dumb as you
look
NIGHT STALKER
ANSWER ME STRAIGHT

DEMON STALKER
I know who you are Michael; I always have done and always will do
Demon stalker removes Night stalker's mask
DEMON STALKER (cont)
The real question is what do we do now?
NIGHT STALKER
How do you know who I am?
Demon stalker looks legitimately sincere

DEMON STALKER
I have always known who you are, I have stalked your shadow in the same way
that you stalk the night; we are one and the same. Inseparable, kindred
whatever word you want to describe our relationship
Night stalker looks confused; he is straining to learn the truth
NIGHT STALKER
What do you mean?
Demon stalker looks even more sincere
DEMON STALKER
I am your brother
Demon stalker removes his helmet
Shock sets into the face of Night stalker
NIGHT STALKER
No. It can't be
DEMON STALKER
Look deeply at me. Don't you see it? You know the truth you can feel it
when you look at me, I remember at the bank. That look you gave me when you
first saw me, it burned into my soul and left its mark. Deep down you
always knew it was me
NIGHT STALKER
And when you were at the therapy clinic, I sensed I knew you from before. I
also sensed that I hated you, with a passion
The sincere look fades from Demon stalker as anger sets in
DEMON STALKER
Sorry to rain on your parade but we are not going to have a family reunion.
I have decided not to kill you because I want to offer you a suggestion. A
suggestion that you would do good to follow

Night stalker looks irate

DEMON STALKER
I have made offers to various people in the past. Some have become success
stories. Others have become food for the creatures that lurk beneath. My
latest acquisition has been turning that worthless crime boss Bentelli into
an overnight achievement. He runs this city now, of course I rule him
NIGHT STALKER
What the hell do you want? I'm sure you didn't get me up here just to rant
on and on about your useless stories
Demon stalker pauses and laughs off Night stalker's comments
DEMON STALKER
(Intense) What I am saying is I don't want you to end up with the same fate
as your mother. All though you will always be the "little engine that
couldn't" to me I see potential in you. I am willing to take you under my
wing and nurture your skills so that they exceed media hype and stealing
petty cash from small time banks. We could rule this world
NIGHT STALKER
So what if I reluctantly refuse your advances?
DEMON STALKER
Then you will die. You will die just like the others who thought they were
too big for me; you will die like your mother.
Night stalker begins fuming
DEMON STALKER (cont)
That's right, she thought she was too big for my fatheroops I mean, OUR
father
NIGHT STALKER
I don't prefer the latter
DEMON STALKER
Too bad, because it is the truth. Plain and simple it is true and you
cannot escape it
NIGHT STALKER
I have tried escaping it my whole life. I know I can't escape it I have
come to terms with what I am. But I have also realised what I can become.
Escaping is for the weak; murderers escape their own justice by inventing a
purpose to their crimes. Too afraid to deal with it. I have simply decided
to disregard it, forget it and get on with my life
DEMON STALKER
Oh boo hoo, look at you trying to kid yourself that you can achieve, YOU
ARE NOTHING. Especially without me. Join with me and I can turn it all
around for you, make you become something
NIGHT STALKER
Why should I join forces with you?

DEMON STALKER
WHOA. It would not be a case of joining forces with me. You would be a
servant to me. No one is my equal I have NO equal, especially not you. You
would do my bidding or taste my wrath
Night stalker drops his head and begins to laugh, getting more and more
hysterical
DEMON STALKER
What is so funny?
NIGHT STALKER
You. The fantasy that you live out called life. You need to snap back to
reality
DEMON STALKER
What?
Demon stalker approaches Night stalker hastily and then grabs him by the
chin yanking his head up to face him
DEMON STALKER
You dare mock me? You have the mordacity to represent yourself before me as
a jester, the town comic who also doubles as the town thief. You are
nothing to me so don't start believing that robbing a few banks suddenly
gives you power. All it does is show what genes you have inherited from
your mother
Night stalker goes ballistic and tries to break free from the chains that
have him tied up
NIGHT STALKER
I WILL KILL YOU. FREE ME DEMON SO I CAN FIGHT YOU!
Demon stalker barely flinches and instead bears an evil grin in response to
Night stalker's outburst
DEMON STALKER
You had your chance to fight me and you lost. I do however admire your
fire; you are a rare kind in today's society of fat obese children who
aren't willing to leave their seats unless it's to get more food for their
ever-hungry guts. I guess you got that side of you from your father. You
can never truly dismiss him. He will always be there with you; a part of
you is a part of him forever until the bitter end
NIGHT STALKER
Lies. That's all you say, sour fuelled lies
DEMON STALKER
Think what you want, but I again seem to be holding the ace, which at this
moment in time is your life. I always have the aces up my sleeve and I
never fail when distributing them. So what is it going to be are you with
meor should I say below me as my servant. Or are you going to die a fool?
I always pictured you as the fool, how about you change my mind

NIGHT STALKER
First of all, I really couldn't care less about what you think of me.
Secondly you have no equal because you are the lowest form there is; the
only thing lower than you is your father
Demon stalker takes a moment to register what he has just heard
DEMON STALKER
Brave words from a man facing death
NIGHT STALKER
I have faced death ever since it took my mother; every time I close my eyes
I see death staring back at me motionless. When I walk the streets every
face reminds me of the icy cold look that death endures on me from beyond
the grave
DEMON STALKER
Have you finished yet?
NIGHT STALKER
Nearly. There is one more thing I would like to add
DEMON STALKER
What is that?
NIGHT STALKER
You fear me
Demon stalker looks baffled over Night stalker's words
DEMON STALKER
What?
NIGHT STALKER
You heard me. First you come after my mother killing her and trying to kill
my will in the process. But that didn't work did it. All you did was manage
to turn me into a more ruthless being than you had thought possible. So
then you set out to destroy me, seeking me out when I was down and out for
the count like a vulture. But I managed to get away and fight another day.
So now you try the last trick up your sleeve, to turn me to your side. I'll
give you credit you certainly added some originality into it. Making it
seem like I need you. Ha, we both know that it is you who needs me more
DEMON STALKER
You are absurd
NIGHT STALKER
Am I? That's not how I see it. You were always jealous of me weren't you?
Jealous that our father wanted a second son to become the ultimate warrior.
That would mean that you had failed. You have blamed all your failure onto
me, oh how I look up to you
DEMON STALKER
You better shut your mouth right now
NIGHT STALKER

Or what you'll kill me? Well I guess I'll give a reason to your cause now,
I have decided to turn down your offer. Thanks but no thanks
DEMON STALKER
You are a fool to turn me down
NIGHT STALKER
I would rather die than have anything to do with you
DEMON STALKER
We could have run this world
NIGHT STALKER
No, YOU would have run this world. I would have just been one of your
cronies helping you to it and seeing nothing in return. It will never
happen, I will personally make sure of it
DEMON STALKER
HA! You will be dead soon, how do you intend to save the people who loath
you
NIGHT STALKER
Lets just say that the aces have switched sleeves
Demon stalker walks behind Night stalker
DEMON STALKER
Whatever. The truth is you are now going to die
NIGHT STALKER
We shall see
Demon stalker picks up Night stalker, who is still chained to the metal
board
DEMON STALKER
Be sure to send my regards to daddy

There is a knock at her door. Dian looks up slowly but surprised
DIAN
(Surprised) Come in

Michael ENTERS the room, slowly

MICHAEL
Hi
A smile comes across Dian's face
DIAN
Hi
Michael fidgets with his hands while standing still by Dian's door
DIAN
Is there something the matter?
Michael looks down at his hands
DIAN (cont)
Do you want to tell me something Michael?
Michael keeps looking down at his hands but nods his head slowly
DIAN
(Inviting) Well don't just stand there. Come on in so we can talk
Michael closes the door and walks over to the couch
DIAN
Do you want to lie down?
Michael shakes his head slowly and sits on the couch
DIAN
So, what is it you want to talk about then?
Michael sits still, tranquilly staring at his hands as he continues to
fidget
DIAN
Michael?
A tear begins to trickle down Michael's cheek
Dian looks saddened and concerned
DIAN
Michael what's wrong?
Michael leaps from the couch onto his knees in front of Dian and embraces
her tightly
Dian is shocked but embraces Michael back
MICHAEL
I need to redeem myself

DIAN
What?
MICHAEL
For all my sins
DIAN
Michael, I don't understand
MICHAEL
I'm not a bad person, but yet I have done bad things
DIAN
Michael?
MICHAEL
I don't want to be the menace anymore. Please you, you have to believe me
DIAN
I believe. I believe you Michael
Michael and Dian slowly release each other
DIAN
So are you going to tell me what this is all about?
MICHAEL
No. I can't
DIAN
Why not?
MICHAEL
I just, can't
Dian looks down at the floor, upset at being kept in the dark by Michael
again
DIAN
Michael, I thought we had made a breakthrough. I thought you were able to
trust me. I thought you weren't going to keep me in the dark anymore
MICHAEL
Dian, you're not acting very professional
DIAN
Michael, our relationship isn't exactly very professional
Michael stands up from his knees
DIAN
You walk in here, make me happy and then scared to see you almost in the
same moment saying you want to talk. But then you keep your distance from
me

Tears begin to fill up Dian's eyes

DIAN (cont)
Why are you doing this to me? I want to help you, get deeper. Find out
everything that you are hiding
MICHAEL
I can't
DIAN
Why not?

It's not that simple
Dian rises from her seat to stand nose to nose with Michael, looking

DIAN (shouting)
HOW IS IT NOT THAT SIMPLE?
Dian and Michael both look down at the floor
SHOT Michael and Dian standing facing each other while looking down at

DIAN
What does this all mean?
MICHAEL
I don't know. I really don't know

DIAN
I can't explain you Michael. That's my job, to explain people. But for the
first time in my career I cannot explain someone. You're unique. You
display mystery, anger, and hatred. But you also wear your emotions on your
sleeve, a haunting calm and a sense of loving.
You really are an enigma; I think that's what attracts me to you
Michael looks up at Dian with raised eyebrows
DIAN (cont)
You leave me needing another fix every time we finish a session; it's like
nothing I have ever experienced before
MICHAEL
The feeling is more than mutual
DIAN
I have never reciprocated such feelings and emotions with anyone before.
Not just a client, I mean anyone

MICHAEL
Same here. Believe it or not, but you are the only one I can really open up
to. I have unleashed a lot of my secrets to you, opened up my closet of
skeletons for you. I really can't believe that I was able to do that with
another person, I thought I was destined to wonder this world alone.
Keeping everything close to me and not sharing any of it with another human

Ok
MICHAEL
I'm leaving my old self behind
DIAN
Yes, go on
MICHAEL
But first, I need to do something. I need to help some people. I have to

redeem myself. All of this is so very, very personal

DIAN
Michael, in order to move on to a new self you have to change your
interaction. You must open up more to me. You are still talking in cryptic
language. I am puzzled by all of this and quite frankly I am wondering what
to make of all you said. Who do you have to help and why is it so personal?
MICHAEL
It has to do with my history, unfinished business if you will
DIAN
Oh, I see. You know what I have gathered from your past is that something
caused you great pain. You shouldn't give in to it. Sometimes it is best to
live with it, a quick fix will only leave you wanting more once the initial
feeling better about yourself is over. The closure never comes to fruition
MICHAEL
I have to. There is no turning back point now. I must go through with it
DIAN
Why?
MICHAEL
Because it is all I am now. I think it; pursue it day in and day out with
every waking dawn a replay of the day before and the day before. I dream
about it, all too often. You see there is no escaping my destiny, try as I
might. But I never sought out my fate. It sought me out
DIAN
Surely there must be another way
MICHAEL
I wish there were, but there isn't. You have to accept this, I finally have
A slight smile appears on Dian's face
DIAN
So does this mean that our relationship is over?
Michael looks confused and slightly embarrassed
MICHAEL
What, I
DIAN
Our professional relationship
Michael smiles
MICHAEL
Well, I hope to see you around. We can't just leave it at that now can we?
DIAN
Nope, personally I don't think it would be healthy for you to step out into
the world a changed man without a little bit of your old self around

MICHAEL
So you'll be there to remind me of how I was?
DIAN
Yep, if that's ok with you
MICHAEL
I wouldn't have it any other way. Maybe we should also have one last
session so that the old Michael can say goodbye
DIAN
Yeah, I'd like that
Michael goes towards the door and opens it
DIAN
Michael
MICHAEL
Yeah?
DIAN
Take care
MICHAEL
I will
Michael walks out of the door and closes it
Dian sits down in her chair thinking about what just happened and looking

Bentelli and Demon stalker are sitting at a table
Demon stalker has his helmet by the side of him on the table
BENTELLI
Ok I have here our plan
Bentelli pulls out a blueprint and opens it up on the table
The blueprint has crude writing and sketches on it done in crayon
Demon stalker's face turns to disgust
DEMON STALKER
What is this?
BENTELLI
It's the plan of how to get Night stalker right where we want him
Demon stalker rolls his eyes
BENTELLI
Right, what observations have we made then?
DEMON STALKER
We?
BENTELLI
Uh, sorry I mean what observations have you made?
DEMON STALKER
He is showing more emotion everyday. He is becoming more human
BENTELLI
Right and why is this then?
DEMON STALKER
It is the people he has begun to relate with. The old man and the woman.

They get his feelings ripe until he can no longer hold them at bay. He is
ready to strike one final time before finally putting his Demon to rest. We
need to make sure that he does not have a clear focus on what it is he is
doing
BENTELLI
Exactly. So, how do we do that then?
DEMON STALKER
Take something that has become so delicate to him. The thing that is now
most precious to him
BENTELLI
What's that then?
DEMON STALKER
The woman
BENTELLI
The woman?
DEMON STALKER
Yes. He has confided in her the most. Opened up his soul to her the most.
Discussed who he is to her the most. If there were anything in this world
that he cherishes the most, it would be her. And the great thing is she
feels the same way about him, the amount of emotion flowing between the two
is unbelievable. Giving us a guarantee win that he will foolishly follow
into our trap
BENTELLI
How is that?
DEMON STALKER
If it were only him feeling this way over her then it would be harder for
him to be so dedicated to changing to leading a normal life. But her shared
feelings mean that there is no risk in doing so. It means that all he has
to do is continue to finish all his loose ends and then he can become the
new self, free at last
BENTELLI
So getting her will mean that he will be forced to finish his loose ends on
our turf?
DEMON STALKER
Precisely. It will no longer be a simple game of doing what he must do to
free himself. Now it is a case of freeing someone else before the timer
runs out, he no longer has the control and once again I hold the aces
BENTELLI
So how do we get him to find this out and take the bait?
DEMON STALKER
The old man
BENTELLI
The old man?

DEMON STALKER
Yes. He has proved valuable so far. We deposit two of your men at that damp
and dingy hole; Larry's bar and get them to talk with that Donald within
earshot
BENTELLI
Yeah, the old man
DEMON STALKER
He will unwittingly pass on the message to Night stalker and set him up for
the fall
BENTELLI
Yes, yes, YES! I love it when a plan comes together
DEMON STALKER
Night stalker will obviously make another trip to see Dian much like he did
the first time before he came to us and attempted to dispose of us both.
BENTELLI
How can you be so sure?
Demon stalker glares furiously at Bentelli
DEMON STALKER
Have you not been paying attention to what I have said?
BENTELLI
Yeah but
DEMON STALKER
Have you not been noting what we have observed from the shadowing of Night
stalker?
BENTELLI
Yes I ha
DEMON STALKER
SO WHY IS IT THAT YOU CONTINUE TO PESTER ME WITH FUTILE QUESTIONS?
Bentelli is taken aback; his eyes wide open as well as his mouth
BENTELLI
Look, all I want to know is how can you be so sure that Night stalker will
go to this Dian? He may come straight to us and then what? I want to nail
this guy as much as you do, and that means that I want everything planned
so that we don't have any mishaps
DEMON STALKER
Even if Night stalker were to come here first, we would already have
acquired the woman so it would be a matter of shortening the time and
unveiling her as soon as he got here
BENTELLI
Oh, that sounds ok

DEMON STALKER
Besides, he WILL go to the woman first. I would bet the soul of my brother
on it
BENTELLI
You're that sure of it then?
DEMON STALKER
Positive. Night stalker is so predictable; it really is only a matter of
sitting in wait until he catches the bait. He will not be so hard to fool
BENTELLI
I hope for you're sake you are right
DEMON STALKER
Is that a threat?
BENTELLI
No, it's just that I
DEMON STALKER
There is no other way about it he will come to us. Like a fly glides
through the air without direction until it lands on the spider's web. And
then we strike, without fear without regret quicker than lightning we
pounce upon our prey
BENTELLI
I can't wait; once again Bentelli scores a great victory in this city. Once
the demon, uh no offence
DEMON STALKER
None taken
BENTELLI
Once the demon is vanquished there will be no one to stop us. We can't
lose, we CANNOT LOSE!

There is no sense of anything; sound, movement it is eerily tranquil
From out of the shadows emerges Night stalker
Night stalker peers over the edge of the rooftop and looks about the

Night stalker takes of his mask and pulls his trench coat together so that
his Night stalker outfit is hidden
CUTS TO
Donald is still walking down the street looking happy
Michael suddenly appears in front of Donald from above
DONALD
HOLLY SH
Michael raises his head up
DONALD
Michael? Michael is that you?
MICHAEL
Yeah

A smile appears back on the face of Donald

DONALD
Man, did you ever scare me. But boy am I glad it's you
Michael
Yeah sure
DONALD
You know you shouldn't be going around alone at night. Especially with
these Night stalker's and Demon stalker's running around town causing havoc
wherever they go
MICHAEL
So what were you doing then?
DONALD
Me? Oh I was on my way home from Larry's bar. You see that's different
MICHAEL
It is, is it?
DONALD
Yeah, you see I'm not going about the city all alone jumping out and
scaring people. What if I was the wrong type of guy?
MICHAEL
I'm sure I could handle myself
DONALD
Yeah but that's the thing you don't know anymore. What if I were one of
those masked freaks, huh? What would you do then?
MICHAEL
Donald, I AM one of those masked freaks
Donald looks flabbergasted
DONALD
What?
MICHAEL
I'm, I'm Night stalker
Donald still looks flabbergasted
DONALD
Really?
Michael pauses and takes a deep breath
MICHAEL
No, I'm just messing with you
Donald begins to grin

DONALD
Oh, the boy's got a sense of humour at last, happy days
Michael smirks a little
DONALD
So why exactly were you jumping out from the night's sky, I can't imagine
it was to scare the bajebus out of me. And if it were then you're a really
really bad man
Michael looks nervous at Donald's question and unable to think of anything
to reply with
MICHAEL
Well, it was uh, because um
DONALD
Hey you know what I heard at Larry's bar tonight?
MICHAEL
What?
DONALD
I heard some more stuff about that Bentelli guy, you know the guy that you
wanted to know about from before
MICHAEL
Go on
DONALD
It has to do with that Demon stalker
MICHAEL
Well there's a surprise
DONALD
And there's someone else it involves
MICHAEL
Who's that?
DONALD
Oh I keep forgetting
MICHAEL
What is it another crime boss?
DONALD
No this ones a civilian, an everyday person
MICHAEL
Male?
DONALD

No female
MICHAEL
Well what do they have to do with Bentelli and Demon stalker?
DONALD
Hold on I'm trying to remember
MICHAEL
Donald, I'm not one for waiting or guessing games, just hurry up and tell
me what you heard
DONALD
It has to do with that Night stalker
Michael looks surprised
MICHAEL
Night stalker?
DONALD
Yeah it was some kind of plot
MICHAEL
Plot? What the hell is going on?
DONALD
That's it. Now I remember
MICHAEL
Ok what is it?
DONALD
Well Bentelli and Demon stalker are supposed to be preparing for their
final meeting with Night stalker
MICHAEL
Yeah
DONALD
Well they have ensured that they hold all the aces
MICHAEL
Aces? How?
DONALD
Well it seems that Night stalker has had a recent change of character, he
may longer pose a threat to the good citizens of this city, but that does
not mean that he will longer pose a threat to Bentelli and Demon stalker.
You see Night stalker
MICHAEL
Uh yeah, Donald I've heard all about Night stalker. Tell me about this
innocent person

DONALD
Oh yeah, so Night stalker has had a change of character and to beat your
enemy you have to know that you must use any weaknesses to your advantage
Michael looks puzzled
DONALD (cont)
Yeah so it seems the dark loner of Night stalker has developed some
feelings for a woman
Michael's face turns to horror as his eyes open wide from realisation of
who Donald is talking about
DONALD (cont)
And so Bentelli has ordered his men to catch this woman so that they can
draw Night stalker to them and effectively give them the home advantage
MICHAEL
Donald this is very important, did you find out the name of this woman?
DONALD
Yeah, she goes by the name ofDIAN!
Shock and anger present themselves on the face of Michael
DONALD
Yeah she's supposed to be a therapist or something like that
Michael begins to run back to the way of the THERAPY OFFICE

Night stalker applies a swift punch to the gut to THUG 2 and goes over to
THUG 1 who is trembling at the sight of Night stalker
NIGHT STALKER

Who? I don't know who you're talking about

INT: DIAN'S ROOM NIGHT
The room is in as much mess as the ground floor. The only light is from a
lamp that's lampshade is sitting crooked on top of it Paper files lay
across the floor, a computer monitor lies on its side with a broken screen,
the couch is turned upside down and a desk is completely demolished with
all the draws thrown around the room
Two more thugs are inside the room still causing havoc
Night stalker ENTERS the room
The two thugs turn around and instantly run over to him ready for battle
Night stalker blocks their initial attacks of punches and throws the two
thugs backwards onto the floor
Night stalker looks around the room desperately
NIGHT STALKER
Where is she?
The two thugs get back onto their feet and again run down to Night stalker,
this time picking up crowbars left on the desk as they approach Night
stalker
NIGHT STALKER
Please, I don't want to hurt you, just tell me where she is
The two thugs ignore Night stalker and begin beating him down with the
crowbars and forcing him down to his knees

NIGHT STALKER
Please, I don't want to hurt you
THUG 3
It looks like we're the ones doing the hurting
THUG 4
Yeah Demon, you aint got a chance in hell, might as well give up now
THUG 3
Nah, what I think is we have a little fun with the Demon, and then take him
back to Mr Bentelli, that's if he's lucky
NIGHT STALKER
Please
The two thugs continue to beat Night stalker down to the ground
THUG 3
Personally I don't see what all the fuss is about over this waste of space
The two thugs still continue to beat Night stalker down
NIGHT STALKER
ENOUGH!
Night stalker rises from the floor and clutches the two thugs by the throat
Thug 4 is thrown against a wall and slides down unconscious
Night stalker looks Thug 3 in the eyes
NIGHT STALKER
Where is she?
THUG 3
I don't know who you're talking about
NIGHT STALKER
You better start talking scum
Thug 3 starts to laugh
Night stalker looks confused
THUG 3
You aint got no idea do you? You're NOTHING, you hear me Demon you are
NOTHING
NIGHT STALKER
MY NAME IS NOT DEMON IT IS NIGHT STALKER
Night stalker tightens his grip around Thug 3's throat
NIGHT STALKER (cont)
And you better start talking

Suddenly a TV in the corner of the room blinks on, the face of Demon
stalker appears on the screen
DEMON STALKER
Night stalker? Are you there? Of course you are. You've gone soft you know
that boy? I knew you would do all you could for the Demon to have one last
goodbye with the woman both you and Michael share. Co existing
personalities, yet sharing the same woman. How pathetic. How predictable
that you would follow your heart, like a lamb to the slaughter. The old
Night stalker would never do anything as stupid as that. Even Michael
wouldn't do that; all though the old versions had their faults at least
they never stooped so low. Unbelievable. Oh well I guess if your damaged
goods there's no way that your going to improve, only go on a freefall down
into the lowest form of a human. By the way, the woman Dian I think her
name is. She is being held captive here at Bentelli's penthouse. Now you
can storm round here looking for a fight in order to save her or you can
turn around and walk in the opposite direction. Personally if I were you,
and thank god I am not, I would run away far from here, back into the
shadows from which you came. But I know that you wont do that because you
are a fool, so regrettably both you and the woman end up dead all because
of your foolish pride and revenge in order to become a better person. Don't
kid yourself, you are nothing Demon
Demon stalker begins to laugh hysterically
Night stalker frowns immensely and throws Thug 3 into the TV, breaking the
TV but not stopping the laughing of Demon stalker

The shocked guards turn around rapidly and begin to reload their guns
Night stalker begins attacking immediately, striking the guards down with
precision quickness leaving them cataleptic on the floor
The guards that are left successfully load their guns and begin aimlessly
firing at Night stalker
Night stalker manages to dodge the bullets ripping through the air, some
bullets hit guards that are in the opposite part of the room to the firing
guards
Night stalker runs around furniture, he leaps behind big leather chairs as
they take the bullets as he takes his cover behind them. Then Night stalker
runs across the room and slides under a desk
The guards begin to reload again
Night stalker throws the desk up and stands in front of it. Night stalker
then unleashes his metallic triangles impaling a guard on each of them and
dragging them in towards him
The guards reload their guns and immediately start firing at Night stalker
who is shielded by the two guards that he is reeling in
The two guards reach Night stalker but are limp through begin killed by

Night stalker throws the two deceased guards at the remaining guards as

The 2nd floor guard bolts for the elevator but Night stalker unleashes one
of his metallic triangles, which catches the 2nd floor guard in the leg
The 2nd floor guard falls over and screams out in agony
Night stalker reels the guard in and picks him up off the floor
NIGHT STALKER
(Intense) Where is she?

The guard looks away from Night stalker as he trembles

NIGHT STALKER
Not gonna talk ay?
Night stalker drags the guard to the window that he smashed through
NIGHT STALKER
Maybe this will change your mind
Night stalker hangs the guard out of the window
The guard lets out a petrified scream
NIGHT STALKER
I can feel your fear, tell me where she is
2nd FLOOR GUARD
Top floor, she's on the top floor
NIGHT STALKER

Night stalker drops the guard out of the window as the guard screams out.
But Night stalker is still in possession to the wire attached to the
metallic triangle, which keeps the guard from falling to his death
Night stalker releases the wire from his costume and ties it around a desk

Unexpectedly blood starts to flow from the guard's mouth
BENTELLI
What the?
The guard falls to the floor and from the shadows behind him comes Night
stalker
BENTELLI
Oh no

Hello uncle Ben remember me?

Night stalker falls onto his hands
NIGHT STALKER

DEMON STALKER
Who? You mean your precious woman? Well she's right here

Two guards bring Dian in who is bound and gagged

DEMON STALKER
You are rather foolish aren't you? Now both of you are going to die
horrible slow deaths.
Demon stalker smirks at Night stalker
DEMON STALKER
But the best part is, you get to which this Dian, the woman who you have
fallen for, die. And rest assured she will die slow, slowly as you watch
her last moment's alive, right before you die. That means that the last
thing you will see is the woman of your life, the only person you have
truly opened your heart to expire in a pitiful death by the hands of me
Demon stalker smirks again
DEMON STALKER
It seems that history is repeating itself doesn't it Night stalker?
Night stalker looks up at Demon stalker with a heated look on his face
NIGHT STALKER
I will kill you
Demon stalker begins to laugh quietly
NIGHT STALKER
Do you hear me brother? I want to make this absolutely clear to you; I will
kill you, I WILL KILL YOU
Night stalker begins to rise up off of the floor but is met with a punch to
the face by Demon stalker which sends him straight back down to the floor
DEMON STALKER
Such valiant nonsense
Demon stalker applies another shock to Night stalker, which sends him
unconscious
Bentelli gets up off of the floor and goes over to Night stalker's lifeless
body which he kicks hard
BENTELLI
That's for punching me in the face AGAIN
Bentelli wipes the blood away from under his nose
BENTELLI
So now what?
DEMON STALKER
Now we carry out the remainder of the plot. The final curtain so to speak
Demon stalker turns towards the doors and begins to walk out of the room

DEMON STALKER
We shall take them to your warehouse near the docks. An isolated human
deserves an isolated death
BENTELLI

handle, which sends water gushing into the container. Dian begins
frantically looking around and banging on the glass of the container but to
no avail
NIGHT STALKER
(Weak) Stop it
DEMON STALKER
Stop it? Ha, look at yourself Night stalker; you have become as weak as all
the mortals that you have come to mingle with throughout your meaningless

existence
Demon stalker walks back over to Night stalker
DEMON STALKER
I cannot believe at how you have turned out, pathetic. That's the only word
that springs to mind. And to think of all that you could have been all that
you should have been, what your destiny had written for you
Demon stalker turns away from Night stalker
DEMON STALKER
Then look at what destiny had written for me. I was to be your second in
command, if that were to go to plan that is, there was always the question
of me not being suitable. Then what would have happened to the true son of
Lucifer? Fortunately for me I never had such worries come to clear in the
present day. Because of the way of you and your mother, I was spared.
Demon stalker turns sharply back to Night stalker
DEMON STALKER
(Angry) I WAS SPARED. Do you have any idea what that means? It is not a
great honour it is pitiful, an atrocity and shameful. If it were not for
the human qualities of your mother; compassion, love and so on, if not for
these sickly qualities I would not have become the man of such brilliance
that I am today
NIGHT STALKER
You're a misguided fool
DEMON STALKER
Yes, yes I guess I am. But I am the fool who holds the aces ALL the aces,
while you my brother hold none. Look at the position I am in now, thanks to
you I have gained what I am owed, what I was always supposed to be
NIGHT STALKER
You always hated me; right from the start you detested me
DEMON STALKER
Yes I did. But I ask you Demon stop thinking of yourself for one moment and
put yourself in my shoes, my walk of life. Try to imagine what it must have
been like for me
NIGHT STALKER
What are you talking about?
DEMON STALKER
I am talking about MY LIFE. Picture the scene, I was first born, first
child to the Devil. But I was not good enough. I was the rightful heir to
the throne of Hell. But that was not good enough for precious old daddy.
All that was mine was taken away in an instant by the greed of our father.
You may feel that it was only you and your mother that tasted his wrath,
but do not fool yourself, you are not so special
Night stalker is unable to keep his head up and drops it from exhaustion

Demon stalker grabs his head and pulls it up fiercely

DEMON STALKER
No no no, I haven't finished yet. You see you were created to be the
ultimate warrior who would lead us all to victory over the human race.
NIGHT STALKER
I know
DEMON STALKER
All that was for me, was to be handed to you. My birthright passed along to
a boy who was half mortal. Imagine my anger
NIGHT STALKER
I cannot imagine your anger because what you just described to me
demonstrated how self absorbed and far from a human you really are despite
resembling and finding those that share your quest for power no matter the
cost
DEMON STALKER
(Angry) OH THE MIGHTY HAS SPOKEN. You act as if you know it all but let me
tell you Demon you know nothing
NIGHT STALKER
On the contrary I know all about you and how your twisted mind works
Demon stalker looks intrigued
NIGHT STALKER
Yeah that's right. I know that behind the steel exterior of a fearless man,
with hatred and evil pumping through his veins lies the young boy I
remember always following my every move. Piecing me together trying to find
out all he could about me so that he could exploit my weaknesses. This boy,
stalked me. He stalked me because he was afraid. Afraid of who I was and
the threat I posed to him. That same boy is you. You stalked me, shadowed
my every move to this city, my whole life you have been waiting to pounce
from the darkness. You know that you are not as strong as you make out to
be, you know that I am stronger
Demon stalker lashes out at Night stalker with a punch to the face
DEMON STALKER
LIES. ALL LIES. How can you present yourself before me with nothing but
lies?
NIGHT STALKER
That's the thing though. It's not lies
DEMON STALKER
You. YOU SIR. ARE A FAILURE. Unlike you I did not buckle under the pressure
I took the opportunity and ran with it far away from your grasp as
possible. Not as if you had a chance in the first place though.
NIGHT STALKER
You took the opportunity all right; you took it with a bullet to my mother.
You made sure that I would never have her input injected into me to become

something far greater than what I have become. You killed her soul and her
dynasty
DEMON STALKER

her you shall now pay

three guards who are standing a few feet away
1st GUARD
He's not here
The three other guards look at each other baffled
2nd GUARD
What do you mean he's not there?
1st GUARD
I mean what I just said; there is nothing behind here
As the guard finishes speaking the wire that is attached to Night stalker
with the metallic triangle on the end of it slowly creeps down behind him
The guard turns around again to view behind the pillar and walks straight
into the wire to which he is pulled up off of his feet
The guard begins firing in all directions, piercing one of the other guards
with bullets. The other two guards dive for cover
The guard stops firing as his body goes limp, his lifeless body is then
pulled up into the darkness above
The two guards look at each other then they look over to Bentelli who is
hiding behind an old dusty machine
BENTELLI
(Whispering) What are you waiting for? Kill him
The guards look back at each other in disbelief

corner and firing at the man standing before them on the other side of the
pillar. The darkness covers the man's face
As the two guards stop firing they notice that the man is not falling to
the ground, but is instead swaying slightly from left to right
One of the guards gets out a flashlight and trails it up the body. As he
gets to the face they realise that it is the other guard who has the wire
attached round his neck and is hanging from above

DEMON STALKER
IT'S TIME TO FINISH WHAT WE BEGAN
Night stalker looks over to the large water filled container at Dian, the
water partially covers her face as she keeps her head up gasping for what
precious air she has left
DEMON STALKER
DON'T WORRY DEMON, IF YOU BEAT ME QUICK ENOUGH, YOU MAY EVEN GET TO SAVE
THE GIRL. OF COURSE THIS WON'T HAPPEN BUT AT LEAST YOU WILL BOTH DIE ON THE
SAME NIGHT. I MAY EVEN SPARE YOU SO THAT YOU CAN STILL WATCH HER DIE THE
WAY YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO. BEFORE YOUR INEVITABLE DEATH
Night stalker turns back to Demon stalker, anger clearly on his face

NIGHT STALKER

Both men greet each other with a barrage of furious punches and blocks with
a few low kicks

Night stalker starts to gain the upper hand. Relentlessly applying brutal
force to Demon stalker

NIGHT STALKER
You're unstable. I'd get you help but you'll be too dead to need it soon
DEMON STALKER
Unstable? Look who's talking. A man who's father made him an out cast and
now runs around a city dressed in the suit of hell has the impertinence to
call me unstable. What cruel world do we live in?

NIGHT STALKER
Stop this constant twisting of words. Face it you're the bad guy and now
you have nowhere to run to. You've lost get over it and face your destiny
DEMON STALKER
I'm not the only bad guy on this roof. The difference is I am at the top of
the food chain, the crme de la crme and you; you're just the pauper of
criminals. Robbing banks, ha. With all the flashiness you posses in your
Hell armour and weaponry you are just a simple criminal the lowest of the

EXT: CITY STREETS DAY
All the civilians walk about busily as they begin their usual day to day
NEWS REPORTER (VO)
Last night saw the chilling conclusion to the myth of one of this cities
latest masked super villain's in Demon stalker. It also saw the end to

crime boss Anthony Bentelli's recent rise to the top with his arrest on
multiple charges. An abandoned warehouse that was previously owned by Mr
Bentelli was the scene of a big operation that the only eyewitness on the
scene states, "was an attempt to murder myself and Night stalker".
Eyewitness Dian Venett was abducted by employees of Mr Bentelli who has
assured everyone that he was under the influence of the mysterious Demon
stalker. Demon stalker was found at the scene and announced dead on arrival
speculating rumours of a struggle between himself and Night stalker who was
not present at the scene upon police arrival. Sergeant Luke Terry had this
to say;
SERGEANT (VO)
Mr Bentelli has in fact been taken into custody and will undergo further
questioning today. The kidnapping of Miss Dian Venett is unclear as of now
and will go through further investigation. The body of the man known as
Demon stalker was found dead last night but as of now we have not uncovered
his true identity despite taking off his mask and inspecting his face which
had little to no damage sustained to it. We are currently waiting for
forensic evidence tests to return in order to find out who he really was.
As for Night stalker who was not found at the warehouse last night, we
found one of the metallic objects that have been found at prior Night
stalker related sites in the past. It was used to hang one of Bentelli's
employee's last night and we believe that this Night stalker was
responsible. We also believe that Night stalker was responsible for the
death of Demon stalker and are appealing for anyone with any information to
please come forward as this is a dangerous individual we are dealing with
who is wanted for serious charges from past exploits
NEWS REPORTER (VO)
Sergeant Luke Terry there. So what to make of the mysterious Night stalker,
friend or foe? Did he deliver justice to the criminal's of Anthony Bentelli
and Demon stalker or did he simply brush them aside to rule the underground
crime of the city? One thing is for sure it does not seem like we have
relayed our last Night stalker related story here at the morning news.

she will probably be expecting me

But

I think we must have had a breakthrough in therapy so to speak. You see I'm
a different man now. I am not the man I once was. I have drastically
changed, for the better that is. I'm ready to give it all up

Did you hear about that?

Michael nods his head

mutual but don't expect her to return, she's gone for good

MICHAEL
I guess I was born with a purpose, but I don't see why that purpose has to
make me so lonely
