California 24th Congressional District Poll

Democrat Salud Carbajal leads in the race for Californias 24th Congressional District,
taking 49 percent of the vote, while Republican Justin Fareed takes 39 percent, and 11 percent
say they are undecided1. Carbajals initial lead is formidable, and voters broadly find his
biography of local roots and values compelling. After voters hear positive biographies of each
candidate, Carbajal wins 52 percent of the vote.
The district tilts Democratic, has a popular Democratic incumbent, and Hillary Clinton
leads Donald Trump, 47 percent to 32 percent in the Presidential race.
Each candidate has consolidated their partisan base, but Carbajal leads Fareed among
key constituencies in the district. He leads among young voters by a 34-point margin,
independents by 31-points, women by 18-points, and Latinos by 54-points. Additionally,
Carbajal leads Fareed by a 29-point margin among ticket splitters.
After voters hear positive biographies of each candidate, Carbajal further consolidates
key constituencies. In particular, ticket splitters (6-point net shift), young voters (5-point net
shift), women (2-point net shift) and Latinos (2-point net shift) show notable movement toward
Carbajal in the follow up vote.

The survey was conducted for the DCCC and had a sample size of 400 likely voters. Interviewing was conducted
July 11th-July 13th by professional interviewers.
