Equilibrium state is the state of an object in which the resultant

force acting on the object is zero.
W=mg
=2 (10)
= 20N
Make sure that your drawing is complete with
- The correct shape
- The correct direction of every force
- (Reject a triangle without arrows)
- The correct labelling for T1,T2 and the angle

This is just repeating the question (c), but this time you must draw
out the triangle force according to scale and also the actual angle.

The most suitable method of hanging the mirror is as shown in

Diagram14. The tension of string T1 shown in Diagram 14 is less
than the tension of the string T2, shown in Diagram 15.

Impulsive force / Reaction force

The bowl is not strong enough to withstand the impulsive force.
The hard surface of the bowl causes a short impact time and hence
a high impulsive force that cracks the egg.
p = mv
= 0.8 x 10
= 8 kgms-1
Put a thick sponge/
Wrap the bowl with soft material to lengthen the time of impact.

Weight is the gravitational force acts on an object.

Vertically : lift is equal to weight
Horizontally : drag is equals to thrust
W = T 1 + T2
Sum of the vertical components of the tension in the string pulling
to the left is equals to the tension of string pulling to the right //
Horizontal components of the tension in the strings (T 1 & T2) are
equal to W.
Normal Reaction force equals o the weight

M2

The tension of string pulling to the left is equals to the tension of

string pulling to the right/
Horizontal components of the tension in the strings (T 1 & T2) are
equal and opposite.
The airplane moving at a constant speed while the object is at rest.
Any object at rest or moving at constant speed, the resultant force
acting equal to zero
Both cases the resultant force is zero

Momentum
= product of its mass and its velocity
Mass of air discharged in diagram 20 > diagram 19
Balloon B has bigger velocity.
When the mass of air discharged increased, the velocity of the
balloon also increased.
The direction of the balloon movement is opposite to the direction of
air discharged.
The Principle of conservation of momentum.

M1

When the boy jumps onto the river bank, his momentum is forward.
Using the Principle of conservation of momentum.
The total momentum before and after jumping is equal.
The boat moves backward to balance the forward momentum.
