Airgate IP, SMTP authent, SMTP user name, SMTP password, SMTP
address, Contr mailbox, Time zone, DNS IP

Comms settings:RS485(1)conv.

User MODBUS definition

o

Available in InteliGen NT Basebox, InteliGen NTC Basebox and InteliSys NT HW

only!

It is possible to define Mobus objects (registers 42873 to 43000). These objects than
can be read or written using their new register number. This can be particularly useful
for batch reading or writing or for standardizing the Modbus communication protocol.

User MODBUS definition in GenConfig can be exported to the file and then imported
to another archive which supports this function.

Number of LBI User button increased

o

Number of LBI User buttons has been increased to 8 in inteliGen NT and to 16 in

InteliSys NT. All supports ON/OFF (toggle), ON, OFF and pulse ON functions.

It is possible to use User Buttons in InteliVision 5, 8 and moreover in SCADA diagram

prepared in Line Diagram Editor for InteliMonitor.

Command blocking is now available for groups of User Buttons 1-5, 6-8 and 9-16
separately. You can block these buttons with certain password level in GenConfig in
Commands tab.

New definition of System Nominal Frequency

o

NT

Nominal frequency for protections is now defined by setpoint

Basic settings:Nominal freq which allows user to select from list (50Hz, 60Hz) with
offset given by Basic settings:Nom frq offset (from -2.0 to +2.0). Effectively the range
of the nominal frequency is now from 48.0Hz to 52Hz and from 58Hz to 62Hz. Both
setpoints are available for Force Value function. Under and over frequency protections

are evaluated based on the System Nominal Frequency witch is given by addition
Basic settings:Nominal freq + Basic settings:Nom frq offset.

ROCOF protection changes

o

ROCOF protection added to the SPI application and Combi application in SPI mode.

New Logical Binary Output ROCOF TRIP added. This LBO signalizes the activation of
the ROCOF protection (it remains active for 3s).

New Logical Binary Output ROCOF ACTIVE added. This LBO signalizes the activation
of the ROCOF protection in spite of the LBI Sd override is active (it remains active for
3s).

New setpoint Mains protect:ROCOF prot added. It enables or disables the

protection. It is possible to enable ROCOF all the time and in parallel operation only.

Mains protect:ROCOF df/dt range changed. New range is 0.1 Hz/s to 10.0 Hz/s. OFF
function is removed and its purpose is taken by Mains protect:ROCOF prot.

Limits of nominal voltages changed

o

Limits of Basic settings:MainsNomV, MainsNomVph-ph, BusNomV, BusNomVph-ph,

GenNomV, GenNomVph-ph changed from 80V to 10V and from 130V to 17V (these
values are relative and depend on the chosen Power Format).

This changes are done to accommodate the new Power Format

0.01 MW MVAr MVA MX V

Command group RemoteSwitch(Le renamed to RemoteSw(On/Off)

Title of the SCADA page of IB-COM or IB-NT for remote monitoring and control of the
controller changed to SCADA

New Power Format added

0.01 MW MVAr MVA MX V Power Format added for sites with combined
HighPower/LowVoltage measurements.

This Power format is compatible with 0.01 MW MVAr MVA MX kV.

Changes of IP related setpoints disabled when Comms settings:IP addr mode =

AUTOMATIC
o

It is no longer possible to change setpoints Comms settings:IP address, Net mask,

Gateway IP and DNS IP, when Comms settings:IP addr mode = AUTOMATIC.

Maximum number of PLC blocks changed

o

Maximum number of AND/OR and XOR/RS blocks in IS-NT changed from 200 to 128
(in previous version adding more than 128 blocks was also not possible even though
200 available blocks were indicated).

In GenConfig, total counter of blocks with Binary Output and Analog Output added
(total maximum of Binary Outputs in PLC is 128 and Analog Outputs 64).

New PLC block Delay B is available

o

The new block offers the possibility of choice of time units of delay (s/min/h) with
resolution 0.1 for all possible units. The time accuracy for long delay has been
significantly increased.

The all 8 original PLC blocks Delay in IG-NT was replaced by new PLC blocks
Delay B. In IS-NT there was replaced only 8 blocks Delay from total number 24
available blocks.

The PLC block PID Ana C replaced the original block PID Ana
o

NT

The parameter of block Period is now possible to link to setpoint or analog value
(originally only constant was possible).

IGS-NT-3.0 New Features.pdf, ComAp June 2013

IGS-NT-3.0 New Features

New Interp. Fc B provides the possibility to define the interpolation by any analog
value available inside the controller (i.e. values, setpoints, PLC outputs etc. can be
used as inputs for the definition of the interpolation).

Interp. Fc B features two new Binary Outputs OutOfRange (Oor) and DataInvalid
(Err). Output Oor activates when the Input value is out of range of the limits given by
X1 and X2 inputs and the output of the block is saturated on the value given by
corresponding input Y1 or Y2. Output Err activates when there are invalid data on any
of the inputs of the PLC block.

Number of Interpolation blocks in InteliSys increased from 2 to 8. Number of

interpolation functions in InteliGen NT stays 1.

New PLC block Math AxB/C added (in InteliSys NT FW only)

This block performs mathematical operation (A times B) divided by C. If any of the

inputs receives invalid data, (-32768) is transmitted on the output and binary output
Err (DataInvalid) activates. The same situation occurs when the final result is out of
the range of signed Integer16 (i.e. -32767 to 32767). Another possibility of this is
when division by 0 is required. More information about this function are available in
Application Guide or in context help in GenConfig. Four AxB/C blocks are available
in IS-NT-BB and IS-NTC-BB HW only.

It is possible to use four separate WinScope connections at once

o

Two new parameters of block, Low limit and High limit, has been added. If one of the
limits on output of regulator is reached, the integration (integral sum inside of
regulator) is stopped to prevent the saturation of regulator.

The PLC block Interp. Fc B replaced the original block Interp. Fc

Changed from 13 to 4.

User Masking function added

o

Four new Logical Binary Inputs added: USER MASK 1-4.

LBI USER MASK X can be used to mask objects in InteliVision 5 and 8 and unmask
screens in InteliVision 5.

Added support of new peripheries communication protocol changed

o

New peripheries InteliAIN8, InteliAIN8TC and InteliIO8/8 (can be modified to

InteliIO16/0) are now supported.

Firmware upgrade of all I-CB communication bridges is needed because of change of

communication protocol due to support of new peripheries.

CAUTION !!! Usage of any 3 -party peripheral modules in cooperation with

ComAp controller is not recommended. ComAp cant guarantee the proper
function of controller with non-ComAp peripheral modules.

Behavior of loading and unloading in Test on Load changed

o

Transmition of power from mains to generator: Behaviour of function depends on

settings of setpoint ProcessControl:I/E-Pm meas. If the mains import is measured
(ProcessControl:I/E-Pm meas = IM3 CT INPUT or ANALO INPUT) then there is no
time limitation for unloading and opening of MCB. The MCB is opened when the
Import/Export goes below 0 5% of Basic settings:Nomin power. If the setpoint
ProcessControl:I/E-Pm meas = NONE (the mains import is not measured) then the
MCB is opened after delay given by setpoint AMF settings:BreakerOverlap.

Transmition of power from generator to mains: Conditions for opening of GCB has
been changed. GCB is opened when the power on gen-set is equal to level given by
setpoint Sync/Load ctrl:GCB open level at the least after delay given by setpoint
AMF settings:BreakerOverlap.

Test on Load with Break now available

ProcessControl:Parallel enable = NO or ProcessControl:Synchro enable = NONE

or REVERSE, ProcessControl:Island enable = YES: If the LBI TEST ON LOAD gets
active the load is passed from the mains to the gen-set with interruption.

Controller opens MCB and closes GCB after AMF settings:FwRet break.

For detailed description of Test on Load sequence please refer to the Reference
Guide of SPtM application.

Peak Shaving based on Apparent Power added

o

Available in InteliGen NT Basebox, InteliGen NTC Basebox and InteliSys NT HW

only!

Two new setpoints define limits for start and stop of the gen-set group and one new
setpoints defines the delay of the function (ProcessControl:Peak kVA Start,
Peak kVA Stop, PeakKVAS/S del). Adjust the delay to 0 (OFF) to disable the function.

Logical Binary Output PEAKSHAVEACT gets activated when InteliMains activates

Sys start/stop output because of Peak Shaving fuction. This output is common for
Peak Shaving based on Apparent power and on Active power.

Peak Shaving based on Apparent power can work together with Peak Shaving based
on Active power.

Conditions for running the gen-set based on Active or Apparent power are in OR
relation.

Negative values in PLC Timer, Delay and Counter behavior changed

o

If inputs of PLC blocks Timer, Delay and Counter receive negative value, it is treated
as zero (i.e. Timer with zero time, Delay with zero delay and Counter with limit zero)

Note that Counter with limit zero activates its output after the first pulse (i.e. the same
behavior as when limit is set to 1)

Distributed Binary Inputs and Outputs

o

Available in InteliGen NT Basebox, InteliGen NTC Basebox and InteliSys NT HW

only!

This function is available only for BaseBox type controllers.

Each controller can broadcast one set of eight Binary Outputs via CAN to all other
controllers on the same CAN.

Each controller can receive up to 32 sets of eight Binary Inputs via CAN (i.e. it can
also receive its own set of eight).

It is not possible to assign protection on DISTBIN outputs and it is not possible to

change name of DISTBIN and DISTBOUT (default names are DISTBIN-XY Z (where
XY (01-32) is the address of the source controller and Z is the number (1-8) of the
actual Input and Output).

Controller is now able to decode multipart (longer) SMS messages.

Annunciation of alarm Pickup fail

o

If the setpoint Basis settings:Gear teeth is set to zero (RPM are calculated
from frequency of generator voltage) the alarm Pickup fail is not
annunciated at all.

MinRunPower behavior of the function has been changed

o

Activation of any of LBI MINRUNPOWER caused starting of all gen-sets in the group
originaly. Later the gen-sets not needed for coverage of requested MinRunPower has
been stoped. The function has been changed that in case of activation of any LBI
MINRUNPOWER only the gen-sets needed for coverage of requested MinRunPower are
started.

o

For more information about this function please refer to the new IGS-NT-PSC-1.5New features manual.

Modbus rewritable setpoints in InteliSys NTC Basebox

o

Use the LBI CLEANING to set the gen-set to cleaning mode. Under voltage and under
frequency protections are blocked in this mode (Gener protect:Gen>V BOC, Gen<V
BOC, Gen>f, Gen<f). It allows switch off the excitation of generator while the gen-set
is washed. Under voltage and under frequency protections are not active and do not
stop the engine. Yellow warning Cleaning appears in alarm list.
WARNING !!! Be aware that activation LBI Cleaning ensures only that under voltage
and under frequency protection is not active and allows gen-set to run with frequency
and voltage out of limits of protections. Activating of this input does not ensure that the
voltage excitation is really switched off. The excitation of the generator has to be
unconditionally switched off directly on the AVR of generator while the cleaning
function is in use!

Support of function of PSC controller to perform exact frequency control.

o

All setpoints of the controller has been moved to different part of memory (FRAM
14
allows up to 10 records). Thanks to it it is possible the cyclic rewriting of any
parameter of controller via Modbus without the risk of demage of memory.
CAUTION !!! This feature is available in HW InteliSys NTC Basebox (IS-NTC-BB)
only. The cyclic rewriting of setpoints in all other HW variations of InteliGen NT or
5
InteliSys NT can lead to the demage of memory (FLASH max. 10 records).

New fixed protection ANSI 51+51N - Earth Fault Current with IDMT reaction added
o

The original level protection with delay Earth fault current has been removed from
default archives. The protection is still possible to create as the user defined
protection in GenConfig or using the import function from older archive (FW upgrade
saves the settings of this protection).

New setpoint: Gener protect:Nom EthFltCurr (Nomional Earth Fault Current

allowed Earth Fault Current in normal operating state) added.

New setpoint: Gener protect:2EthFltCurr del (the delay of reaction when the Earth
Fault Current is equal to double value of Gener protect:Nom EthFltCurr) added.
Default settings = 0 = OFF (the protection is not evaluated).

The protection type is BOC (breaker open and cooling). Alarm and history record
BOC Ieth IDMT is annunciated.

New fixed protection ANSI 40 Excitation loss added

o

New setpoint: Gener protect:ExcitationLoss (Level of reaction of the protection )

added. The valu eis related to the value of setpoint Basic settings:Nomin power.

New setpoint: Gener protect:ExctLoss del (Delay of reaction of the protection) added.
Default settings = 0 = OFF (the protection is not evaluated).

The protection type is BOC (breaker open and cooling). Alarm and history record
ExctLoss is annunciated.

Changeable period of fast (premortem) history - in IS-NTC-BB HW only

NT

New setpoint: Basic settings:FastHistPeriod - 100ms, 300ms, 500ms, 1s, 3s

(3s = default).

50 records from fast history are automatically rewritten into the standard history in
case of 2nd level protection gets active only when engine is supposed to be running.

Bug causing controller to be permanently locked against inserting password repaired.

NT

This bug occurred when system password is different from default password and the
protection against breaking password is activated.

When setpoints for IP address settings (Comms settings:IP address, Net mask and
Gateway IP) are password protected and IP address is obtained automatically
(Comms settings:IP addr mode = AUTOMATIC) by IB-COM, controller gets locked
permanently displaying yellow warning PassInsertBlck. The timer of this protection
does not count down.

This occurs only with newer versions of IB-COM FW.

NOTE: IB-COM is built-in communication module in InteliGen NTC-BaseBox, InteliSys

NTC BaseBox and InteliMains NTC BaseBox.
