Comments:
This conference was one of the best conferences that I have attended. I learned so much
about how to apply the iPad in the general and special classroom. Entire districts are
using the iPad for all students and teachers with no textbooks and achieving success. The
iPad has uncountable applications in special education as well. Every lesson given was
eye-opening and interactive with all participants using the iPad the way their students
would. Multiple additional resources were given as well as a community created on
Edmodo to stay connected to other educators in the field. I plan on attending again!

Comments:
Purposeful planning (based off of student achievement) was provided by the literary
coach for the school. The materials provided were well organized and the presenter gave
the training in an interesting way. Overall, the training was good. There were some
clarification needed in regards to planning for math teachers, but overall the training
given was good and helpful. Visual aids were excellent and could be immediately applied
in the classroom.

This training was on the combination of response to instruction (RtI) for Tier 2 and 3
students and using the iPad. Overall the presentation was good but all of the teachers
were not prepared by knowing how to properly use the iPad. There were also some
technical issues with everyone not being able to keep up with instruction so some were
ahead of others and the instructor had to stop to catch people up. The visual aids were
sufficient and the topic presented well. More clear step-by-step instruction would have
helped.

This training was provided by MPS for all teachers during the summer. Edivate is a
program that provides lessons online for teachers to watch as an example by content
standard. The instruction was exciting and the instructor made the training fun. The only
visual aid was the SMART board, but everything that we needed to know was presented
and all questions were addressed. The instructor covered everything the audience needed
to get into the classroom and hit the ground running. The program allows a teacher to
teach a content standard and find lower grade level substitutions in the same content area.

Comments:
CHAMPS was a 2-day training that stressed the use of positive behavior supports to
assist with classroom and behavior management (great for students with emotional and
behavior disorders). The training was engaging and the instructor was very
knowledgeable of the subject matter. The visual aids were sufficient except for the
enormous novel length textbook that came with the training. It was referred to for many
activities but the sheer bulk of the book was overwhelming. It was cumbersome and had
some trainees intimidated at the start of the training. The folders and activities would
have been sufficient.

Comments:
Math Solutions is a program for math teachers to assist them in presenting math in a
format to reach the students where they are at. Across the state, and the nation, math
scores are significantly lower that reading. This training steers teachers away from drill
and practice instruction and focuses on small group instruction, hands-on activities, and
projects (excellent for special education). The training is very involved and requires
participants to work in teams and present what they learned with backup instruction from
the trainer. Excellent training and visual aids are used and given for use in the classroom.

Problem Solving training was very informative. The presenter was very knowledgeable
about the topic and all questions were answered. The class was very talkative throughout
the day and the instructor did not have control over the side conversations and caused
some disorder. Visual aids were very involved yet easy to use and applicable to the
classroom. Teaching math confidence and assisting students who are behind in being
confident enough to try was taught. This training increased understanding in math
disposition (attitude towards) which is an area to be addressed in special education.

Comments:
AMSTI training is always fun and informative. The trainer is very blunt and hands on.
Teachers are made to use hands-on activities for the entire training. Visual aids are the
manipulatives that are given to AMSTI teachers to that they can know exactly how to
apply the manipulatives in the classroom. The training covers special education students,
differentiation, and even gifted activities. The lessons are all encompassing and easily
understood and performed. Great training.

Comments:
The training provided for this lesson was given in the same manner as Math Solutions.
The instructor was well versed in the topic with many years experience. The difference
was the representation (how to explain the math and apply to real world instead of
regurgitating facts) and fluency (to take and apply math facts to use the correct procedure
to solve a problem). This is an issue with special education students and understanding
these concepts will be helpful in instructing SPED students. The training was excellent.

Comments:
This was the most informative and comprehensive training on dyslexia that I have ever
received. The entire audience raved about how good the training was afterward. The
trainer had over 20 years experience in teaching students with dyslexia and training
teachers how to recognize the attributes of dyslexia in students. Audio and visual aids
were interactive and eye-opening. Trainees were converted into students with dyslexia so
that we would understand from the students perspective and try to learn. Great training!

The presenters of this webinar had a clear grasp of the topic and the information
presented in the webinar was given in a good order. The slides that were presented were
connected to the presentation. However, the beginning of the training started with a long
pause, long introduction, information that did not have to do with the lesson that could
have been given at the end of instruction, and there were multiple audio disturbances
during the training. The pauses cause difficulty following the training and the lack of
interaction was also a continuing problem. Good information given but poor presentation.

Comments:
The instructor was very well versed on the topic and gave detailed explanations for the
topics discussed. However, sitting for over an hour at a tablet or computer is a very
boring way to learn. I was glad for the information received, but not being able to interact
and not having materials to touch caused the lesson to not be driven home. I may or may
not remember what was taught. The slides in the webinar were nice but they said thered
be a handout available on the page and there was not. This would not be my preferred
method of learning.

Comments:
This presentation, for a webinar, was very engaging. The method in which the presenter
gave the information kept me engaged in the lesson. His attention and definition of the
behavior of students with autism opened up a world of understanding. The slides used as
visual aids were used to provide examples of the thinking process of the students and
broke down misunderstandings and misconceptions. The lesson was very intriguing and
informative. Audio was good and there were not disturbances in the lesson.

Comments:
This online professional development module was very involved, distributed into short,
easy to learn section, and informative. Interesting to note, there was farmer training on
the site along with special populations. The presenters were informed on their subjects. I
took 17 courses in the module. The videos were very dates (80s) but the information was
still relevant. Updating the videos would make the course modules more interesting.
There were reading sections mixed with video and pre/post tests. The best part of the
course was that after passing the tests, I got a certificate of training for each course!
