Chapter 18

Mass, Reality and Dark Matter

By Matthew Strom

Expanding Universe or Expanding Entropy

When we look at our world, observe its intricate design and beauty and understand the vast
complexity in even the most basic things, it is obvious that it was all created by God. This world
and universe really are much more like pieces of art than anything else. God is so creative and
interesting that He even makes each snowflake different just as each human finger print is also
different. Each one has the unique design and artistic flair that is always seen in the work of a
master craftsman and never in random chance. It is overwhelmingly obvious that there was not
only a designer, but one who put tremendous thought and care into His craft. Yet if you
understand the nature of our present reality, for all the beauty we see, it is very clear that it has
changed from what it was originally intended to be. It has lost a vital part of its makeup, and that
is why today the physical world is a reality separate from the world in which its Creator exists.
However, it was not always so.
Scientists often talk about the idea of an expanding universe. When I think of this, it becomes
apparent to me that the universe is not expanding, but rather the death, the temporal reality we
live in, is expanding and growing stronger. In my mind, I see our world and universe as God
originally made it beautiful, eternal and truly real. In other words, God in His spiritual, or true
form, could dig His hands into the soil of Earth while angels walked just as visible as man and
woman. There was no distinction between spiritual and physical. They were both one, and there
was no such thing as temporal. No death, decay or pain, and humans were vastly more powerful
and beautiful.
But something happened, almost like an explosion emanating from the Garden of Eden. A shock
wave began to spread at the moment of the fall of man. It passed over Adam and Eve, over the
earth everything the wave touched phased out of eternity. It was a wave of death, severing all it
touched from the true reality. The blast wave expanded out from earth in all directions, like a
dimensional nuclear bomb displacing reality and as it spread into the vast expanses of the universe,
it brought death and entropy, creating a limited reality. That limited reality is what we now call the
physical world, a holographic version of what it once was. God and the real world were now
not only invisible but in a completely different reality.

Now two separate realities existed one real and eternal, and the other temporal and sub-real.
Today as we look into the universe, we might say, as do many scientists, that the universe seems
to be expanding, but I dont believe that is true. I believe it is the distortion that is expanding.
Imagine you took a piece of paper and stuck a flame under the center. Looking down at the paper,
you would see it start to burn outward in all directions, starting as a black dot, and then
expanding out larger and larger. Eventually, the paper would turn into charred, black ash. Now if
you were a common observer, you would witness two realties. One reality is the paper in its
original state, and one is the charred, black ash after the flame passed over it. If your view was
somehow limited to only the burnt part of the paper (like if you were shrunk to microscopic size
and were standing in the center of the burned paper looking outward.) you would perhaps think
that the burnt part was the only reality and that it is expanding. In the same way that they say the
universe is expanding. But, to me, the proper view of the burning paper is the view of the person
holding the paper in his hands looking down at it from above; from that view you see that the
burnt ash is not the natural state of the paper. Rather, it is a corruption of what the paper is
supposed to be. The part of the paper that is now burnt is not what was intended by the designer
of the paper. It is a corruption, and one that will soon fall apart. So it is with our universe. The
physical world is just like that burnt part of the paper, and it is possible that at the edges of our
universe, the fire, so to speak, is still passing over the paper phasing it out of the eternal world
and into the temporal, which might give an observer with a limited view the illusion that the
universe is expanding. In actuality, it is only the corruption that is expanding. The physical world
is simply a corruption of what the original universe was - a temporal reality that, although
beautiful, lacks the key element that made it real and part of the real world, the key element being
infinity.
Now because this temporal reality is a corrupted reality and no longer possesses the solidness and
incorruptibility it once had, it makes sense, then, that this physical portion of the universe, (our
reality), is unstable. It seems reasonable then that in the physical universe there would be places
where the physical world is weak and collapses back into the eternal world, as is the case with
black holes. (Meaning the temporal version of the eternal material has collapsed dimensionally in
certain places leaving a void in the temporal reality exposing the eternal reality beneath. To put it
simply a black hole is a hole in the hologram as it were. So, in summary, our reality is separate
from the real world, much like a computer program is separate from our reality. We are in the
shadow lands. Yet even still, some part of all creation is rooted in the eternal world, making the
physical world seem to be missing parts that should be there. Thus, you have a universe that
appears solid, even though it is really full of holes.

The Lake and the Looking Glass

Here is an example I believe will help to illustrate the nature of our reality, i.e., the physical world.
I believe what we can see and touch in our physical reality is similar to islands sticking out of
water. You see one peak or island to your right, and one to your left. Each peak not only has what
you can see above the water, but also a base below the water line. Therefore, the island and peaks
sticking out of the water in this example represent anything we can see in our reality (that which is
physical), whether on a grand scale, like the universe, or on a small scale, such as a dinner table.
Each peak or island is a high point in our reality. The water between the peaks is like the dark
matter or in the universe, the missing mass or space between atoms in anything we can touch,
such as a table. The base of peaks below the water is the part of our reality that exists in the
eternal world. So above the water is our reality. The surface of the water is the boundary between
the temporal, physical world and the eternal world, and then below the surface is the eternal
world.
Now imagine you're sitting in a canoe on a giant lake. In front of you, protruding from the water
in different places, are islands and peaks. It looks like many separate islands or mountains, but
really it is one huge mountain with many high points sticking out of the water. Youre floating in
your canoe and are in one dimension - the dimension above the water, which in this example is our
temporal, physical reality. Everything above the water line (i.e., the islands and peaks) is subject to
wind and erosion, much like our reality is subject to entropy and time. This reality is decaying.
Eventually the wind will erode into nothingness the islands and everything else above the water
line.
Remember there's a small island to your left and one to your right, as well as another one ahead of
you. Each is separated by water. They all appear to be separate from one another because in your
reality you can only see what is above the water line. For you, the islands appear to be separate.
You could say that only what you can see of the islands exists in your reality. But there is another
reality below the water, and in that reality the wind cannot affect the mountains or islands. In this
example, the reality below the water line is like the eternal world, with no erosion or decay due to
wind able to overtake it, in much the same way that entropy and time do not affect the eternal
world.
So you have the world above the water, and the world below separated by the glossy surface of
the water, which is like a mirror. You have two sides of the mirror so to speak, hence, the title of
this book, (Earth Through the Looking Glass.) Although the islands appear to be separated by
water, below the surface of the water, they are really all connected so that their separateness is in
fact an illusion. The part of them below the surface of the water, therefore, is a different reality.
The surface area of the water between each island or peak is like the missing mass of all reality.
This is what I call the horizontal view.
Also, seeing each of the islands or peaks appearing above the water gives the appearance that
theyre floating on the water. Really, the part of the islands that you can see is all that exists for

you. It is the only part in your reality, but under the water each island continues down. This is
similar to how everything in our reality is rooted in the spiritual or eternal world, and this is what I
call the vertical view.
Above the water is our reality. Below is the spiritual, eternal world. Above the water, you are only
seeing a fraction of the islands real mass and shape, as well as having the illusion that each island
is separate, when they are actually one mountain. The concept of the vertical view, the part that is
sticking out of the water but has its base beneath the surface, can be illustrated in human beings,
as well as everything in our reality. In humans, our physical bodies are like the peaks above the
water, but that is not all there is to us. Our inner man, our real side, is our spirit, and it is like the
base of the islands below the water.
So when you observe anything in our reality, you are seeing the high points, whether it is in the
universe or something much more mundane and small-scale, such as a table. Though everything
appears solid in our reality, it is really all just like the universe with its dark matter or missing mass
- apparently filled with holes or space. The places that appear to be missing in our reality are the
low points. In other words, they do not exist in our reality. Also everything we can see or
experience in the temporal world is actually rooted in the real world.
The physical world as we know it will fade and be destroyed because the very thing that makes
the physical world what it is, a corruption. It lost a key element that once made it part of the
eternal world, making this reality more like a dream, or a matrix. When you add to that, the fact
that evil beings are actually below the surface of the water (in the eternal world), influencing and
deceiving those who live on the islands above the water, it just furthers this idea that our reality is
a matrix.

So the temporal world is just that temporary - but we are at heart eternal beings and will pass
into the eternal world one day. Though our present reality will one day be destroyed, it appears
after that point God will re-forge our reality with the spiritual world, as it speaks of in the Bible
concerning the time during and after millennium. So it is not surprising that the Bible says in
2 Corinthians 4:18: We look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not
seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are
eternal.
Thus, our present day world could be considered holographic. The scripture could just as easily be
read like this, (do not need to focus on the matrix because the matrix is not real.) Think of it this
way the physical, temporal world exists on one side of the mirror, but there is another world on
the other side of the mirror (the real world). On that side, in the location of our universe, there are
evil beings lurking in the spiritual darkness, deceiving our world and trying to destroy mankind
and to keep them blind to the truth. The physical world as it exists today is not the real world thus
Bible wisely instructs us to set our minds on things above, not on things of this earth.

Hebrews 11:1,
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen. For by
it, men of old gained approval. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the
word of God so that what is seen was not made out of that which is visible.
The biblical interpretation of faith is simply seeing the truth, or the real reality, despite what your
physical eyes see. The Bible says that when God created the world, He built it out of perfect and
eternal building blocks, but something happened to change everything. When God finished
creation, He said that it was good. Actually very good! But after the fall, and in the entire rest of
the Bible, God constantly warns us not to look at this world, but rather to Heaven. What
happened? Something changed. What was once good in Gods eyes now is something He is
constantly warning us not to trust in and many times He simply calls it evil.

Whats the Matter?

Speaking further of missing mass, if you are looking at common dinner table though you can see
and touch the table, it is not truly solid. What I mean is that its atomic structure is mostly empty
space, so much so that it has left many scientists wondering if matter even exists at all.
In Star Trek they had the Holo-Deck which used shaped force fields with holographic images
projected on them, this made a holographic reality that a crew member could enter and be
whisked away to nearly any place and it would look and feel real. To the observer it seemed just
as solid and real as the real world. When we think about problem of matter in our world, the
strange lack of actual mass or matter in atoms, the invisible connections between some particles
or the mysteries of quantum physics it is becoming more and more apparent that our idea of
physical and ethereal are very wrong as well as the way we view our reality. Any scientist will tell
you that a dinner table though looking and feeling solid really isnt, the only reason why we dont
simply pass right through it is because the electrons in our bodies are repelling against the
electrons in the table giving the illusion of both items being solid. I find it much easier to explain it
like this, things in our reality (at least the part we can experience I.E. that which exists in the
temporal reality) really are much more like the things in the Holo-Deck they are much more like
shaped force fields with holographic images projected on them than how we normally think of
physical or solid, Solidness of our reality is an illusion. We have actually never seen anything that
is truly solid. We are living in something like a holographic simulation, a digital matrix. But it was
not intended to be this way I believe the reason it is this way is because the atomic structure has
lost the vital parts that once gave them true substance. This is the very reason the world we think
of as spiritual will be far more solid than this one. In fact the eternal world is so truly solid it is
changeless it has true mass true substance. In the real world beyond the veil of death we are all
going to experience true matter for better or worse.

Before the fall, all objects existed in complete form. There was no difference between physical and
spiritual. We have our ideas on what spiritual and physical is today and these are basically based
on our limited understanding of the temporal world, which generally boils down to the physical
world is real and if the spiritual world exists at all its more like a dream. But the truth is actually
quite opposite, the proper interpretation of the terms physical and spiritual should be as
follows
Physical = ethereal, temporal, having no substance (finite)
Spiritual = real, eternal, having true substance, (In-finite)

The Mystery of Infinity

(A view on dimensions)

Now allow me to share with you a little on my view regarding dimensions. First of all, I believe
there is a difference between what I call perceivable dimensions and building-block dimensions.
Our present reality is made up of four dimensions: length, width, height and time. The eternal
world, I believe, is at least six to infinite dimensions. These are perceivable dimensions, but there
are possibly many building-block dimensions that make up any one perceivable dimension.
Perceivable dimensions are dimensions that can be directly experienced by the observer, and out
of a certain number of perceivable dimensions you get a reality.
Building-block dimensions though, are like nuts and bolts. They are the building materials that you
need to make any one perceivable dimension. They are not directly experienced by the observer.
Only the Creator knows they are there, but sometimes we are able to see some of the effects of
their existence. For example, if you are standing in a room, the experience of the room itself
would be (the reality). The walls, floor, and area of the room would be (the perceivable
dimensions that make up the reality). The nails, wood, plaster, etc., that make up the walls would
be (the building-block dimensions which make up the perceivable dimensions.) So say that the
four dimensions which make up our reality (length, width, height and time) each had three
building-block dimensions included in their makeup. One might say we live in twelve dimensions,
but that is not really accurate. The number of dimensions a reality exists in is judged by how many
perceivable dimensions it is made up of, not how many building-block dimensions make up the
perceivable dimensions. At least that is how I see it.
Now, our four-dimensional reality is called temporal by the Bible, which means it is not eternal.
In other words, there is nothing in our physical universe that is eternal. But how is it, then, that
we have the concept of infinity? In math you have a symbol to represent infinity, but most people

just think of infinity as something that goes on and on endlessly like an infinite number.
However, this is not infinity. Say there was in our four-dimensional universe, a line stretching from
the Earth to the farthest place that we can see or perceive. Say this line is the normal range of
human experience in the physical world. In other words, most everything man normally
experiences exists on this line. We would then consider the end of this line the edge of reality.
But if there were another line next to it, and this one extended from one side of the universe, all
the way to the other side of the universe, passing into human view only in the middle like an
infinite number might, because of the second lines vastness; we would think this line represents
infinity. This is wrong. The very fact that both lines, however long, exist at best only to the edge
of the physical universe (which God says is temporal) means that both lines are temporal and
finite - not infinite. Infinite is that which is outside of the physical world, I.E., Heaven and the
realm outside of it called Outer Darkness. So we must change our view of eternity as well as
infinity.
We live in a four-dimensional reality and we typically think eternity is an extension of one or all of
these four dimensions, this is seen in our in our concepts of time. We think that having eternal life
is like being a vampire: a person just keeps going down the time line forever. But infinity, or
eternity, is not like this at all. It is something outside of our four dimensions all together. So think
of it like this infinity is the Hypo-Stasis, ultimately its God Himself but secondly its the realm in
which He dwells (the six to infinite dimensions that is the real world) it is eternal, without time
and never had time It is infinite, meaning real having true substance and it does not change.
Our four-dimensional reality was once part of the eternal world, so our four dimensions did not
exist as we know them today. Why do I say this? Because if you take one of our four dimensions,
like time, and add infinity, you dont get a really long amount of time. Instead, you get no time.
When you add infinity to the physical world, it would change the physical world, making the
reality we know today cease to exist. Infinity basically would add all the information of all the
eternal dimensions (the heavenly part) to anything it was applied to as well as connection to God.
This is like what happens when you are born again spiritually and what it means to have eternal
life. At the present time this change does not directly affect your temporal body or the physical
reality, though some day it will. Through Christ you gain substance and, in truth, actual existence.
You see? So when God created our universe it was all part of eternity. It was perfect. Yes, it had a
beginning, just the act of creating something new in an eternal world would call a new dynamic or
physic into being for that creation I.E. (time). But time would have simply meant something new
began in a place where there is no beginning and no end. But our universe would have been linked
to the real world and would have shared the dimensionality of it. All reality would have been one
10 to infinite core dimensionality everything had actual existence all was infinite.
So when our universe fell with mans sin, we lost infinity. We became temporal or finite. We began
an existence in a new limited four-dimensional reality. Our four dimensions became like lines that,
at best, stretch from one end of the physical universe to the other. They became like a shadow of

what they once were because of the loss of substance - the loss of a connection to the eternal
reality.
The best example I can think of to illustrate our situation is to think of a two-dimensional picture
inside a three-dimensional art program on your computer. From the point of view of the twodimensional object, its world is limited. It cannot enjoy the three-dimensional world around it. It
may not even be able to see it, and that is similar to what our four-dimensional reality is like inside
the true, eternal reality. So the physical world exists as a four-dimensional, limited reality, inside a
six to infinite-dimensional eternal world.
Like us the two-dimensional object imported to the 3D world cannot even experience the threedimensional world until it is converted to a three-dimensional object. Now imagine, in this
example we are only adding one dimension, but adding that one dimension to the two-dimensional
object totally changes it to a new reality. Now imagine adding six to infinite dimensions to our
reality! It is unimaginable but it was once that way and it will be that way again for those who go
to heaven and for the new universe God creates.
Presently, when you die, you are being stripped of your four-dimensional form. Your physical
body stays in the four-dimensional world, but your soul and spirit are not bound by the physical
world. Immediately when your four-dimensional body dies, the part of you that is eternal, i.e.,
your substance, exists and experiences the eternal world. The only problem is that if you were not
saved, your spirit is dead, which basically means its not able to enter Gods kingdom due to God
not being in you, though your spirit is eternal it is incomplete true substance has not been added
thus you are incompatible with heaven. Because true substance can only come when God inhabits
its center since God is the substance. So if you are not saved, when you pass into the real world,
you exist in outer darkness, separated from God. This is why Hell is called the second death.
Death in the real world simply means to exist outside of the life and light of God, living death is
the simplest way to put it.
When you die, it will not be the end of you. In fact, it will just be the beginning. It will be so much
more real and physical on the other side that your life in this world will have seemed like a dream.
You will wake in the true reality. Some to eternal punishment and some to eternal life, it all
depends on your choice here and now and whether you accepted Gods payment for your sins.
But once you pass through the looking glass into the real world, there are no second chances. And
if you pass without the Lord, you are on your own. Heaven holds the mystery of infinity beyond
the matrix of our temporal universe.
