Belt Chain Tech Sheet

Belt Chain Specifications a11,d Ordering Information

GENERAL ORDERING INFORMATION:
Belt Chain part numbers are created by using specific web information. Following is a guide to assist in determin
ing the needed specifications. Once these are established, the part number can be found in the Belt Chain Web
Catalog by putting the belt chain web information in the fOllowing format:

Part Number = WEB Rod Diameter Belt Width # of Belts & Size pitch LPR Steel Grade

2. Overall Belt Width

Overall Belt Width is determined by measuring center to center of outside holes and adding 1.19".

3. Number of Belts and Belt Size
Combine the number of belts and the belt
size into one number.
Examples: 2 belts at 60 mm wide = 260
3 belts at 60 mm wide = 360

4. Pitch in Millimeters

The pitch of a belt is measured in

Millimeters from the center of a rod
to the center of a rod.

5. Links Per Roll CLPR>

Note that the Links Per Roll includes the master rod. The following formula can be used to determine the
Links Per Roll:
LPR = Belt Length in Feet multiplied by 12 then multiplied by 25.4 then divided by the pitch.

BELT TYPES AND DRIVE METHODS:

Low Profile Belt

Shallow Retaining Clip Space.

Sprocket Drive
Belt is supported by finger cages on
the sprocket, the drive is provided
through the links.

Friction Drive
A friction drive may be used
with rubber drive roller.

High Profile Belt

Deep Clip Space Allows Power
Engagement in the Fingers.

Belt Drive
Finger cage teeth engage in the traction slots in the belt, and flanges keep
the belt in position.

WEB JOINING METHODS:

Continuous Belt:

Skived-delaminated over six pitches and bolted together.

Lapped-rubber removed from top and bottom and bolted together.

Vulcanized-delaminated over six pitches and heat bonded.

Heavy Duty Noffsinger Master Clips

WEB CONSTRUCTION:
Riveting:
Steel plates are attached to the bottom side of the belt. Rods and rivet
plates are countersunk to protect the rivet head from wear and allow for a
smooth surface.

Rivet Hole Design:

Noffsinger has designed a rivet hole that features the largest

rivet (5.5mm.) and the largest formed countersunk head.

Because of the countersunk head, the Noffsinger hole design

has the greatest shear strength.
