Pitch 1:

Rochelle Skaggs was born with Amniotic Band Syndrome, a birth defect wherein the
amniotic sac wraps itself around a body part and deforms a babys arms or legs.
Skaggs legs were affected by ABS, and as a result, did not have legs capable of
walking let alone participating in a marathon. However, this year, Skaggs legs have
been fixed and conditioned, and she will now be participating in the Chicago
Triathlon. She would love to share her story about never giving up, even with
obstacles that set you back.
Additionally, Scott Hootie Hutmacher can answer any questions you have
regarding triathlons in general, or the Chicago Triathlon specifically. Hootie is the
Midwest organizer for Life Time triathlons in addition to a USA Triathlon Certified
Coach. He can give some great tips to readers about training for their first triathlon.

Pitch 2:
Dennis McNicholas grandson and namesake of McNicholas family team, Jack, has
been waiting on a liver for years. Without new liver tissue, Jack would die. However,
Jacks father donated 20 percent of his own liver in order to save his sons life. Jack
is now 7, and the McNicholas family hopes that Jack will be healthy enough to join
them one day in the Chicago Triathlon.

Pitch 3:
After participating in marathons and triathlons for over 10 years, Mary Lichtenauer
was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect and had to undergo open heart
surgery. After a painful surgery and an even more painful recovery time,
Lichtenauer plans to participate in the Chicago Triathlon this summer. Giving up
something you love is difficult, but getting back into the swing of things after
undergoing this type of surgery is even harder--- and Lichtenauer would like to share
her story with everyone.

regarding triathlons in general, or the Chicago Triathlon specifically. Hootie is the
Midwest organizer for Life Time triathlons in addition to a USA Triathlon Certified
