C 70-79

F 59 and below

Course Categories:
Participation 20%
Photographs 20%
Deadlines 40%
Quality 20%

Participation 20% - attendance, daily work, and involvement. This includes events not related to page
production such as taking photos at events such as dances, sports events, and concerts; working at assemblies,
taking photos or gathering quotes at games, etc. This grade goes in at least once per quarter.
Photographs 20%- each student needs to take at least 20 quality pictures (that can be used) each quarter.
You are EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED from taking photos of any portrait of any student and re-submitting it on
any social media, whether these re-submissions have comments attached or not. You also should not share any
photos we take of any event with any student who is not a yearbook student, and also do not place any of these
photos on social media where they can be copied and shared by others. By doing so, you eliminate one of the

main reasons people will buy a yearbook. Doing so can cause removal at semester from the class, and can also
affect your grade. These images are confidential and proprietary, and if you do anything that causes these
portraits (the ones for the yearbook pictures) to be shared and/or commented on, it is grounds for immediate
removal from the class with an F for the semester.
Quality 20% - is based on your creativity, accuracy and overall quality of work produced.
Deadlines 40%- students will receive a reduction in grade if deadlines are not met.

Classroom behavior:
All Union High School rules and regulations will be supported and enforced. When on assignment at events,
other campuses, etc., you will obey all rules, regulations, and authority figures of those campuses. Do not abuse
your privilege or you will lose them.
You will demonstrate respect for each other and for me at all times. There will be no usage of foul language or
racial/ethnic slurs or other epithets.
Yearbook is a class that requires a higher degree of personal responsibility, because it involves a higher degree
of freedom in the work process. If you should choose not to be responsible (by not working on your pages, or
meeting deadlines, etc.) you WILL be removed from your assigned pages and will receive a zero, flunking the
course for the semester. If this occurs during the first semester, I will ask that you be removed from the course
for the second semester. Do NOT be surprised that your grades will reflect your participation. This is not an
automatic A course.
