Instructions:
Children's hat patterns should be all about

whimsicality, color, and texture. Her Royal
Highness Hat hits the mark for all three. This
adorable knit hat pattern is an ode to purple,
pink, and sweet applique gemstones. This hat is
perfect for your little princess as she braves the
wildness of the backyard sandbox or tames the
fire-breathing dragon (AKA the family dog). This
hat is a charming option for mild winter
afternoons or cool spring nights.
CO 48 sts, PM and join for working in the round.

Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 2.
Switch to stockinette and work until hat is 8
from CO edge.
Decrease:
Row 1: K2tog, K2 around
Row 2: Knit
Row 3: K2tog, k1 around
Row 4: Knit
Row 5: K2tog around
Cut yarn, leaving long tail.
Using tapestry needle run through remaining
stitches and pull tightly. Weave in ends.

them up. The Loveable Little Stem Hat is one of

This adorable baby hat pattern is a mix of

warmth and sweetness. The Wish Upon a Star
Knit Baby Cap is adorned with a precious
glowing star shooting across a field of calming
blue. This hat is knit with worsted weight wool,

With blue, cast on 92 stitches. Join circle and

place a stitch marker. Work the 2x2 rib for 1."
Work stockinette stitch for the next 3.5."
Remember that when you work stockinette in
the round, you are knitting every round.
When the hat measures 4.5" from the cast on
edge, begin decreasing to shape the crown. Knit
for 39 stitches and then K2tog (knit 2 stitches
together).
Knit another 39 stitches and K2tog the final 2
stitches for a total of 90 stitches.
Knit another row, placing a stitch marker after
every 15 stitches.
To shape the crown, follow the chart, changing
to double pointed needles when necessary.

Cut 24" length of cream. Thread tapestry needle
and chain stitch the tail to your shooting star.

Preschooler Rugby Hat

Join in the round and place marker for

Work in k2 p1 rib for 10 rows (or around 1).
Work in double moss stitch until hat measures
6 (7), ending on Row 3 of DMSP
Change to 4 dpns if you were using a circular
needle, ensuring you have 34 (36) stitches on
each of your 3 working needles.
Work set-up row: *p1, (k1 p1) 8 (9) times, pm,
k1 (p1 k1) 8 (9) times, (you should be at the end
of a needle)* to end of row.
Work Row 4 of DMSP, placing marker in the
middle of each dpn, i.e. after 17 (19) stitches,
dividing your stitches into 6 segments for
decreases.
Decrease:
Row 1: (ssk k1 *p1 k1* to two stitches before
marker, k2tog, slip marker, ssk p1 *k1 p1* to
two stitches before end of dpn, k2tog ) three
times, 12 stitches decreased.
Row 2: (k2 *p1 k1* to one stitch before marker,
k1, slip marker, k1 p1 *k1 p1* to one stitch
before end of dpn, k1) three times.
Repeat these two rows 6 (7) more times. You
should have 18 stitches left.
Final Row: *sl1 k1 psso* to end of row. Cut the
yarn leaving 10'' tail. Thread this through the
remaining stitches and pull tight.
Sew over the hole a couple of times and weave
in any loose ends.
Random Factor Hat

30 rows. Last stripe should be made in yarn

Instructions:
Put a spin on the traditional knit hat pattern
