Update: July 2016

Books/Materials:
Students should be prepared for class each day with the following :
Student iPad
eTextbook: McDougal, Holt. World History: Ancient Civilizations Through the Renaissance
S.I.:Holt McDougal, 2012.
Sketchbook: Students will be required to obtain a sketchbook for class. The sketchbook should not
be any smaller than 8x10 and should not be any larger than 11x14.
Pencil

Technology
Students will be required to use their iPad as their textbook, for accessing supplemental learning
materials, and submitting assignments. Students must follow and abide by the school iPad policy. Any
misuse of the iPad (e.g. playing games, working on subject matter for another class, browsing the
internet) will result in a demerit and/or the loss of participation points.

Student Expectations
Come to class prepared, organized and eager.
Class begins when the bell rings, so when you hear it, be in your seat and prepared to start the
lesson.
Students must properly use and care for all art room supplies at all times. The misuse or
mistreatment of any art room supply could result in a zero grade, disciplinary action, and the loss of
the privilege to participate in future art projects.
Follow directions and stay on task.
Respect the attentiveness of the class. That is, dont be a distraction, even to yourself.
Demonstrate integrity, respect, empathy and compassion in all of your behaviors.

Homework
Homework is expected on the assigned due date. Late work will receive half credit.

Attendance and Absence

Students are expected to attend class each day, but there are inevitably circumstances which occasionally
prevent attendance. Students have one calendar week to make up and submit and missed work. After the
one week grace period, make-up work becomes late work and will receive half credit.

Conduct
Students are expected to follow classroom rules as well as adhere to the code of conduct stipulated in the
student handbook. Above all, students should demonstrate integrity, respect, empathy, and compassion
in all their behavior, as these shared values are essential to a productive learning community.

Attitude:
Students are expected to maintain a positive attitude. We will try to enjoy our class time as much as we
can and the extent to which we are able to do so will be partly contingent on the good attitude of the
students. Be open-minded. Be curious. Be creative. Have faith that you can accomplish everything that
youll need to, and make up your mind that you will persevere when the work is challenging.
