ADMISSION NOTIFICATION FOR FIRST YEAR OF B.E./B.Tech. 2016-17

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 23 of the Maharashtra Unaided Private
Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions and Fees) Act, 2015 (Mah. XXVIII of
2016), the Government of Maharashtra has notified the rules the Maharashtra Unaided Private
Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions to the Full Time Professional
Undergraduate Technical Courses) Rules, 2016 to regulate the admissions to the First and Direct Second
Year of Full Time Professional Undergraduate Technical Courses (Engineering and Technology,
Pharmacy, Pharm D., Architecture, Hotel Management and Catering Technology). These rules are also
applicable for admissions in Government and Government Aided institutions vide Government Resolution
of Higher & Technical Education Department No. TEM-2016/CR 536/TE-4 Dated 15th March 2016.

This notification is being issued for Online Registration, Documents Verification and Application
Form Confirmation at Facilitation Centers (FC) by candidates aspiring for admissions to First Year of Full
Time Under Graduate Courses in Engineering and Technology (B. E. / B. Tech) in the Government,
Government Aided, University Managed, University Departments, ICT Mumbai and Unaided Private
Professional Educational Institutions for the Academic Year 2016-17 in the Maharashtra State. The
Director, Technical Education shall act as a Nodal Officer to carry out the admissions under the
supervision & control of the Competent Authority.
Aspiring candidates are hereby informed to read the aforesaid Act and Rules published on
http://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/fe2016.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission according to various types of candidature:

(i) The Candidate should be an Indian National;
The candidate should have
(ii)Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and passed the HSC or its
Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the equivalent examination with
Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational Physics and Mathematics as
subjects, and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in compulsory subjects along
case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability with one of the Chemistry or
candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above Biotechnology or Biology or
subjects taken together; Or
Technical or Vocational
(ii) Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at subjects, and obtained at
least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class least 50% marks in the
categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to above
subjects

Important Note:1. All types of candidates, including minorities, aspiring for admission under CAP seats, it is
mandatory to get registered and get Documents Verified and Confirmed at Facilitation Center.

As per the Rule No 3 & 13 of the notified rules, candidates aspiring for admission for Institutional
Quota, vacant seats after CAP, Supernumerary Seats for Children of NRI/OCI/PIO, Children of
Indian workers in Gulf Countries, Foreign National Candidates, it is a prerequisite & mandatory
to get documents verified and confirmed at Facilitation Centers.
Only those Candidates who have verified and confirmed documents at Facilitation Centers and
having CAP Merit number shall be eligible for admission for all types of seats/quota.

Online Registration for Admission:1.1 The candidates should apply online on www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/fe2016 as per schedule and fill
the Online Application Form step by step.
1.2 Candidates who have registered for MHT-CET 2016 are not required to pay any fees for registration
for admission. However other candidates who have obtained score JEE(Main) Paper 1 and have not
registered for MHT-CET 2016, shall pay the required fees only by Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net
Banking as given bellow.

Important Instructions for candidate:

1.

The List of the institutes identified as Facilitation Centers (FC) and Admission reporting Centers
(ARC) is available on the website.
2. The Information Brochure shall be given to the candidate on producing original Hall Ticket of MHTCET 2016 at FC where the candidates have verified & confirmed the application.
3. The candidates are required to produce the documents in original documents for verification and
Confirmation of Application Form at FC.
4. Candidates are advised to keep the necessary documents ready and scan all the documents.
5. If candidates fail to confirm online filled Application Form at FC, then such applications will be
rejected and name of such candidates will not appear in the merit list(s) prepared for the purpose
of Admission for both CAP as well as non CAP process.
6. The candidates belonging to SC, VJ/DT (NT (A), NT (B), NT(C), NT (D), OBC and SBC categories
should produce Caste Validity Certificate issued by Scrutiny Committee of Social Welfare
Department and the Candidate belonging to ST category should submit Tribe Validity Certificate
issued by Scrutiny Committee of Tribal Department. All Backward Class candidates excluding SC &
ST should produce Non Creamy Layer certificate valid up to 31 st March 2017 at the time of
verification of documents at FC, if these candidates are not able to produce the Non Creamy Layer
certificate, then such candidates will be treated as GENERAL category candidates and such
candidates will not be able to claim Reserved seats in the admission process.
7. Application received after the due date from candidates belonging to J & K Migrant, NRI/OCI/PIO,
Children of Indian workers in Gulf countries, Foreign National categories will be summarily
rejected and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Such Candidates will get the
Receipt-cum-Acknowledgement through their login after verification & confirmation of application
form.
8. Reserved category candidates unable to produce Caste/Tribe Validity Certificate are required
produce Proforma H on Rs.100/- Non Judicial Bond Paper for verification.
9. Candidates who have registered as a reserved category candidate for MHT-CET 2016 but unable to
produce required documents for reservation claim during documents verification, shall have to pay
difference amount of fees of 200/- at the FC in cash.
10. Once the candidate confirms his/her Option form online through his/her Login for the respective
admission rounds, Candidate will not be allowed to change/cancel the option/preference
submitted under any circumstances.
11. The Seat Acceptance fees is to be paid by Demand Draft in favour of 'Commissioner, State CET Cell,
Maharashtra State, Mumbai' payable at Mumbai.
