MAJOR TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR CAR & MARINE INSURANCE POLICY
FOR CIVIL, STRUCTURAL, ARCHITECHTURAL & ELECTRICAL WORKS FOR
PLANT BUILDINGS 1 OF BRAHMAPUTRA CRACKER & PLOYMER LTD AT
LEPETKATA, ASSAM
1. Total Value of Works

Rs 83.96 Crores

2. INSURANCE COVERAGES
Insurance coverage for CAR & Marine Policy including storage of materials against
all loss or damage from whatever cause arising other than the expected risks from the
date on which it becomes the property of the Purchaser, Brahmaputra Cracker &
Polymer Ltd (BCPL) until it is handed over by EPI to the Purchaser, BCPL.
This policy shall ensure also the insurance of whole work against theft, fire damage
etc till handing over by EPI to Purchaser BCPL.
Third party insurance against liability for damage or injury occurring for any person
(including any employee of EPI or BCPL or other contractors) or to any property
(other than property forming part of the work) due to arising out for execution of the
work.
Terrorism and Earthquake coverage, arising out during execution of the work.
The description of Insurance coverages to be provided by EPIL for execution of the
subject work of BCPL is enclosed at Annexure-II. The applicable clauses only for
estimation of CAR Policy are to be considered
3. The scope of work of EPIL for general civil works covers the following plant
buildings:a)Main Control Room
b) Unit Control Room
c) Satellite Rack Room - 1
d) Satellite Rack Room 2
e) Satellite Rack Room 3
f) Substation 1
g) Substation 2
h) Substation 3, 5 & 6
i) Substation 4
j) Substation 7,11,12 & 13
h) Substation 9
Above Buildings include the following activities but not limited to :

Earthwork in excavation and filling from approved borrow area for

approach road work.
Earthwork in excavation and filling with available earth anywhere within
the plant boundary for approach road work.
Earthwork in excavation and backfilling for Construction of valve pits,
gully trap chamber, inspection chamber, manholes, pipe and box culverts
and neutralization pit etc.
Construction of storm water pipe culverts/box culverts.
Plain cement concrete works of various grades in foundations, manholes,
valve pits, neutralization pit and manholes etc.
Supply, cutting, bending, binding and laying in position reinforced bars in
R.C.C. work.
Centering and shuttering for R.C.C and P.C.C. works.
Supplying and fixing medium duly manhole frame and cover.
Supplying and fixing MS rungs.
Providing plumbing and building drainage works for toilet block of
buildings.
Supplying and laying GI pipes, fittings, gunmetal globe valve including
taking necessary tapings.
Supplying and laying of RCC pipes P-1 and NP2 class as per IS:458 upto
septic tank and up flow anaerobic filter.
Supplying and laying of CI piping inside toilet block up to inspection
chamber/gully trap.
Supplying and laying of CI soil waste and vent pipe as per IS:1729.
Supplying and laying GI Pipes, fittings and gunmetal globe valves etc.
Supplying and installation of floor traps.
Supplying and fixing medium duty manhole frame and cover.
Supplying including commissioning of overhead sintex water storage
tanks.
Supply of all material and laying WBM Grade-I in roads and approach
roads.
Supply of all material and laying WBM Grade-II in roads and approach
roads.
Supply of all material and laying bituminious carpet in roads and
approach roads.
Disposal of surplus and unserviceable material, earth & debris outside
complex limit as per direction of Engineer-in-Charge.
Steels, Aluminium doors windows etc.
Structural Steel works
Electrical Works

Any other items required for completing the work in all respect as per specifications,
drawings and instructions of Engineer-in-Charge.
4. POLICY IN THE NAME OF EPIL

The policy shall be obtained in the name of Engineering Projects (India) Ltd and shall
inter-alia provide coverage against the following arising out of or in connection with
execution of works, their maintenance and performance of the Contract with a contract
value of Rs 83.96 crores.
Loss of life or injury, involving public, employees of the Contract, or that of Employer
and Engineer, labour etc.
Accident or injury to workmen loss or damages to the Works or property belonging to
Public, Government Bodies, Local Authorities, Utility, Organisation, Contractors,
Employer or to any person or any third party.

CURRENCY OF POLICY
The policies shall be effective from the date of receipt of 1st instalment premium &
remain in force through out the period of execution of the Works and till the expiry
of the maintenance period. The completion period is 16(sixteen) months and
maintenance period is 12(twelve) months from the date of completion of work.

Deductible compulsory excess, free add-on covers, no. of instalments etc are to be
clearly indicated in the offer.
