How to use the BD remote control

What you can do with the BD remote control

The BD remote control uses Bluetooth wireless technology to operate your PS3 system and
to control the playback of common types of disc media, including Blu-ray Disc (BD) media.
You can also control the playback of streaming media and control the playback of content
downloaded to the PS3 system HDD.
Infrared (IR) technology enables you to operate peripheral devices such as your television and
AV amplifier*. For IR operation you must point the IR transmitter of the BD remote control
directly at the device. Check that there are no obstructions between the BD remote control and
the device.

Battery use
Never throw batteries into a fire.
If you come into contact with material from a leaking battery, take the following actions:
If the material gets into the eyes, do not rub. Immediately flush the eyes with clean water and seek medical
attention.
If the material comes into contact with the skin or clothes, immediately rinse the affected area with clean
water. Consult your physician if inflammation or soreness develops.
Keep the product out of the reach of small children. Small children may swallow the batteries or small parts,
which may inflict injury or cause an accident.
Do not use batteries other than those specified, and always replace with the same type of battery. Do not mix
old and new batteries.
Insert batteries with the plus and minus ends in the correct direction.
Remove batteries when they have reached the end of their life, or if the BD remote control is to be stored for an
extended period of time.
This product is shipped with non-rechargeable batteries. At the end of the batteries life please discard in
accordance with local environmental laws.

* Only the surround sound system (CECH-ZVS1U) (sold separately) and AV amplifiers made by Sony
Corporation can be used.

Use and handling

Do not expose the BD remote control to high temperatures, high humidity or direct sunlight.
Do not allow liquid or small particles to get into the product.
Do not put heavy objects on the product.
Never disassemble or modify the product.
Do not throw or drop the product, or otherwise expose it to strong physical impact.
Do not place any rubber or vinyl materials on the product exterior for an extended period of time.
When cleaning the product, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or other chemicals.

Operating the PS3 system

Check the PS3 system software version

Registering (pairing) the BD remote control with a PS3 system

This operation is performed only once, when you are using the BD remote control for the first
time.

1 Turn on the PS3 system.

2 From the PS3 systems XMB menu, select

[Register BD Remote Control], and then press the
button.

3 Follow the on-screen instructions to register the BD remote control.

Hints
For the latest usage instructions, refer to the users guide for the PS3 system
(http://manuals.playstation.net/document/).
Only one BD remote control can be registered with a PS3 system at a time.
When you pair the BD remote control with another PS3 system, registration with the original
PS3 system is cleared. To use the BD remote control with the original PS3 system, you will
have to pair the devices again.

After the TV or AV amplifier remote code is set, the DEVICES button will light. Check that
you can operate the TV or the amplifier using the remote control.

Switch the video inputs in TVs and the audio inputs in

3 Press the ENTER button.

After the TV remote code is set, the TV button will light up. Check that you can operate the
TV using the remote control.

If the number was not set

During step 3, if the DEVICES button flashes five times in quick succession or if you cannot
operate the TV or the AV amplifier after entering the code, try again (starting from step 1) using
a different code.

Restoring the settings to their default values

You can clear all custom settings and restore the settings to their default values.

Under Industry Canada regulations, this radio transmitter may only operate using an antenna of a type and

You can use the BD remote control to operate a TV or an AV amplifier. Set the remote code to
match the product in use. For TV brands other than Sony, you must first set the remote code
(refer to the lists below). At the time of purchase, the BD remote control is set for use with Sony

To use the BD remote control, the PS3 system software must be version 3.60 or later. You can

Some content may have preset playback conditions set by the content developer. In this case,

Ce que vous pouvez faire avec la tlcommande BD

La tlcommande BD utilise la technologie sans fil Bluetooth pour commander votre systme
PS3 ainsi que la lecture sur les types de supports de disques classiques, y compris le support
Blu-ray Disc (BD).
Vous pouvez galement contrler la lecture des mdias en continu et la lecture du contenu
tlcharg sur le disque dur du systme PS3.
La technologie infrarouge (IR) vous permet de commander des priphriques tels que votre
tlviseur et votre amplificateur AV*. Pour utiliser le mode infrarouge, vous devez pointer
lmetteur IR de la tlcommande BD directement sur le priphrique. Vrifiez quil nexiste
aucun obstacle entre la tlcommande BD et le priphrique.

Conseils
Selon lappareil command, il se peut que certaines fonctions ne puissent pas tre excutes
par la tlcommande BD. Il se peut que certaines touches ne fonctionnent pas ou quelles
fonctionnent diffremment.

Le contenu peut parfois avoir des conditions de lecture prdfinies ayant t spcifies par son
dveloppeur. Le cas chant, il se peut que certaines commandes accessibles par les touches de
la tlcommande ne soient pas disponibles.

Pour allumer le systme PS3 laide de la tlcommande BD, appuyez sur la touche systme
PS3 puis appuyez sur nimporte quelle touche qui permet de commander le systme PS3.

Si la charge des piles est faible

Lorsque la charge des piles est faible, il se peut que la tlcommande ne fonctionne pas
correctement ou que sa porte soit rduite. Le cas chant, remplacez les deux piles par des
neuves.
Tlcommande BD

La tlcommande BD vous permet de commander un tlviseur ou un amplificateur AV. Vous

devez rgler le code de la tlcommande pour le faire correspondre celui de lappareil utilis.
Pour les marques de tlviseur autres que Sony, vous devez tout dabord rgler le code de la
tlcommande (reportez-vous la liste ci-dessous). Par dfaut, la tlcommande BD est rgle
pour tre utilise avec des tlviseurs et des amplificateurs AV de marque Sony.

ADVERTENCIA

2 Saisissez le code de la tlcommande trois chiffres pendant que la touche DEVICES

clignote.
Essayez chaque code dans lordre puis slectionnez celui qui vous permet de commander le
tlviseur ou lamplificateur AV partir de la tlcommande BD.

3 Appuyez sur la touche ENTER.

Une fois que le code de tlcommande du tlviseur ou de lamplificateur AV est paramtr,

la touche DEVICES sallume. Vrifiez que vous pouvez commander le tlviseur ou
lamplificateur laide de la tlcommande.

partir de ltape 1 en utilisant un code diffrent.

Restauration des rglages par dfaut

Vous pouvez supprimer tous les paramtres personnaliss et rtablir les rglages par dfaut.

1 Appuyer et maintenez enfonces les touches suivantes dans lordre indiqu: Touche
MUTE Touche /CLEAR Touche ENTER
Toutes les touches DEVICES vont sallumer et les rglages par dfaut vont tre rtablis.

Nunca arroje las pilas al fuego.

Si el material procedente de la fuga de una batera entra en contacto con su piel, lleve a cabo las acciones
siguientes:
Si el material le entra en los ojos, no se los frote. Enjuguese inmediatamente los ojos con agua limpia y
solicite asistencia mdica.
Si el material entra en contacto con la piel o la ropa, aclare inmediatamente la zona afectada con agua
limpia. Pngase en contacto con su mdico si sufre una inflamacin o dolores.
Mantenga el producto fuera del alcance de los nios. Si un nio pequeo se tragara alguna pila o pieza
pequea del producto, podra sufrir lesiones o provocar un accidente.
No utilice pilas que sean distintas de las especificadas, y siempre reemplcelas por el mismo tipo de pila. No
mezcle pilas viejas con pilas nuevas.
Coloque las pilas con los polos positivo (+) y negativo () en la orientacin correcta.
Retire las pilas cuando hayan alcanzado el final de su vida til, o si el mando a distancia de BD va a ser

las entradas de audio en amplificadores AV.

Conforme a la normativa de Industry Canada, este transmisor de radio slo puede funcionar con una antena de
tipo y ganancia mxima (o inferior) para el transmisor aprobada por Industry Canada. Para reducir posibles
interferencias de radio que puedan afectar a otros usuarios, el tipo de antena y su ganancia deben elegirse de tal
forma que la potencia istropa radiada equivalente (p.i.r.e.) no sea superior a la necesaria para una
comunicacin correcta.

Lo que se puede hacer con el mando a distancia de BD

El mando a distancia de BD utiliza tecnologa inalmbrica Bluetooth para accionar el sistema
PS3 y controlar la reproduccin de los tipos de discos habituales, incluidos los Blu-ray Disc
(BD).
Tambin puede controlar la reproduccin de multimedia en modo streaming (sin descarga) y
controlar la reproduccin de contenido descargado al disco duro del sistema PS3.
La tecnologa de infrarrojos (IR) le permite accionar dispositivos perifricos como aparatos de
televisin y amplificadores AV*. Para el funcionamiento por IR debe apuntar con el transmisor
de IR del mando a distancia de BD directamente hacia el dispositivo. Compruebe que no hay
ningn obstculo entre el mando a distancia de BD y el dispositivo en cuestin.

Es posible que algunos contenidos tengan configurada con anterioridad la condicin de
reproduccin establecida por el desarrollador del contenido. En este caso, es posible que
algunas operaciones de los botones del mando a distancia no estn disponibles.

Para encender el sistema PS3 con el mando a distancia de BD, pulse el botn sistema PS3 y
luego pulse cualquier botn que sirva para accionar el sistema PS3.

Si la carga de las pilas est baja

Cuando la carga de las pilas est baja, es posible que el mando a distancia no funcione
adecuadamente o que la distancia dentro de la cual el mando a distancia opera se reduzca. En
este caso, reemplace ambas pilas por unas nuevas.

Mando a distancia de BD

Operacin de una televisin o un amplificador AV

Puede usar el Mando a distancia de BD para accionar un aparato de televisin o un amplificador
AV. Configure el cdigo remoto que corresponde al producto utilizado. Para las marcas de
televisores distintas de Sony, primero debe configurar el cdigo remoto (consulte las listas
siguientes). En el momento de la compra, el mando a distancia de BD est configurado para ser
utilizado con televisores y amplificadores AV de Sony.

1 Pulse el botn CLEAR al mismo tiempo que mantiene pulsado uno de los botones
DEVICES.
Pulse el botn TV para una televisin o el botn AMP para un amplificador AV.

2 Introduzca el cdigo del mando de 3 dgitos mientras el botn DEVICES est

parpadeando.
Pruebe cada cdigo por orden y seleccione uno que le permita controlar la televisin o el
amplificador AV con el mando a distancia de BD.

3 Pulse el botn ENTER (aceptar).

Una vez configurado el cdigo del mando de la televisin o del amplificador AV, el botn
DEVICES se iluminar. Compruebe que puede controlar la televisin o el amplificador con el
mando a distancia.

Configuracin del cdigo del mando para una televisin que no est
incluida en la lista de fabricantes
Para los aparatos de televisin que no estn incluidos en la lista provista, puede introducir
manualmente el cdigo del mando para poder accionar la televisin con el mando a distancia de
BD.

1 Pulse el botn CLEAR (borrar) al tiempo que mantiene pulsado el botn / TV.
El botn TV parpadear.

2 Pulse el botn CH + y el botn / TV del mando a distancia de BD uno despus del

otro.
Repita esta operacin hasta que pueda accionar la televisin. El botn CH + aumenta el
nmero, mientras que el botn CH lo reduce.

3 Pulse el botn ENTER (aceptar).

Una vez establecido el cdigo del mando de la televisin, el botn TV se iluminar.

Compruebe que puede controlar la televisin con el mando a distancia.

Si el nmero no se ha establecido
En el paso 3, si el botn DEVICES parpadea cinco veces rpidamente, o si no puede controlar la
televisin o el amplificador AV despus de haber introducido el cdigo, vuelva a intentarlo
(empezando por el paso 1) con un cdigo distinto.

Restablecimiento de los valores predeterminados de los ajustes

Puede borrar todos los ajustes personalizados y restablecer sus valores predeterminados.

1 Pulse y mantenga pulsado los botones siguientes en el orden indicado: Botn MUTE
