Curriculum Statement
Our aim is to equip children with the ability to be life-long
learners.
We aim to provide opportunities for children to develop skills
in six key areas:
Literacy
Numeracy
ICT
Learning and thinking
Personal and emotional
Social
LITERACY
Aim:
For children to use and apply their literacy skills confidently and competently in
their learning and in everyday contexts. To convey ideas and opinions clearly
and respond creatively and critically to a wide range of information and ideas.
NUMERACY
Aim:
For children to use and apply mathematics confidently and competently in their
learning and in everyday contexts. To recognise where mathematics can be used
to solve problems and be able to interpret a wide range of mathematical data.
ICT CAPABILITY
Aim:
For children to use and apply their ICT knowledge, skills and understanding
confidently and competently in their learning and in everyday contexts. To
become independent and discerning users of technology, recognising
opportunities and risks and using strategies to stay safe.
SOCIAL SKILLS
Aim:
For children to develop the skills to work well with other people. To be
reasonable and adaptable and anticipate others views and feelings. To
appreciate the value of rules for working together and play an active part in group
and classroom activities.
