Once upon a time a little red hen was scratching

around the barnyard when she found some grains of wheat.

She called her neighbors and Said, If we plant this wheat,
we shall have bread to eat. Who Will help me plant it?
I Will not, said the cow.
Neither will I, said the duck.
I wont either, said the pig.
Not me, said the goose.
Then the little red hen said that she would plant the
wheat by herself, and she did it. The wheat grew and
ripened.
The little red hen asked Who would help her reap the
wheat.
Not me, said the duck.
Out of my classification, said the pig.
I would go against my union regulations, said the cow.
I would lose my unemployment compensation, said the goose.
Then I Will, said the little red hen, and she also reaped the wheat by herself.
At last, it was time to bake the Bread. Who helped me baked the Bread?, asked the
little hen.
The cow said that it would be overtime for her.
The duck said that it would be overtime for him, too.
The pig said that it was his day off.
If I am the only helper, that will be discrimination, said the goose.
Then I Will, said the little red hen. She baked five loaves of bread and showed them to
her neighbors.
They all wanted some in fact, demanded a share. But the little red hen said that could
eat five loaves herself.
Excess profits, yelled the cow.
If you have a right to eat, so do I cried the duck.
I demand equal rights, shouted the goose.
The pig Just grunted. Then they quickly painted protest signs and marched around the
barnyard shouting.
The government agent come and said to the little red hen, You must not be greedy.
But I earned the Bread, said the little red hen.
Exactly, said the agent. This is the wonderful system of free enterprise. Anyone in the
barnyard can earn as much as He want. But under the government regulations, the productive
workers must divide their product with the idle. I suppose you have misbehaved.
And they lived happily ever after. But the little red hens neighbors wondered why she
never baked bread again.
