PE

Geography
From discovering the different shapes of the countries of the world, to
investigating their weather patterns and climate zones, children will learn all
there is to know about earths features. They will also find out more about
how mountains, volcanoes and earthquakes are formed.
What you can do
Point out and discuss local geographic features. Show them any old maps you
have around the house can they use it to find where you live?

Music
Stomp percussion uses a wide range of instruments in
harmony with everyday objects (including brooms,
brushes, dustbins and tubes), body percussion and voice.
Children will compose their own complex rhythms,
culminating in a whole class performance.
What you can do
Listen and share thoughts about music you listen to home.

Children will have 2 PE sessions per week on both Thursday


and Friday afternoons. They will have one lesson focusing
on improving their control, skills and techniques and a
second putting these to work in a variety of team games.
What you can do
Please ensure that PE kit is always in school.
Children should practise throwing and catching a ball.

Art

ICT
This term children will become game developers. The will
research, plan and create their very own game, test is for
bugs and publish it along with its very own set of
instructions.

RE
This term children will be learning about the Creation
and that God entrusted us with looking after it as His
co-creators. They will also be looking at The Beatitudes.
What you can do
Share your thoughts about how you as a
Family can look after Gods creation.

In Art, we will be using line,


tone and shading to
represent things in 3D.

History
This term we will be
discovering the influences
and inventions of Ancient
Greece. We will be focusing
on Greek life and
achievements particularly,
trade and democracy.

Maths
Children will be revising place value and
reading/writing numbers up to one million.
They will be rounding numbers, counting in
steps of 10 and learning to count through
zero to negative numbers. They will also be
investigating Roman numerals as code
crackers!
What you can do
Practice the spellings of numbers up to 1
million. Support children with homework.

English
In English, children will discover more about
Ancient Greek mythology. They will delve into
the world of mythical beasts with the aim of
writing their own gruesome tale.

What you can do


Encourage your child to read at
home and to use good describing words when
you are out and about as this will help
develop their vocabulary!
