(Note: An Industrial Training student who has obtained 50
marks and above, will be awarded a pass grade while a
fail grade will be given to a student who has obtained less
than 50 marks.)

Objective of Unit:
The objectives of this course are to:
expose students to engineering practices in the industrial sector under the
supervision of experienced engineer or technical staff.
expose students on matters relating to human relations, engineering
management, human resource management and the like in the industrial sector.

Learning Outcome of Unit:


On completion of this unit, a student shall be able to:
a) apply knowledge of engineering fundamentals
b) demonstrate in-depth technical competence in the specific engineering
discipline during the industrial training
c) demonstrate problem identification and solving skill
d) apply the relevant references, guidelines and code of ethics related to
engineering practices
e) apply systems approach to design and evaluate operational performance
f) apply interpersonal communication skill with technical or/and non technical
staff in the work place

Synopsis of Unit:
During this period, students are encouraged to apply engineering principles and
research methods to the respective sector or to practical problems faced during the
industrial attachment.
Every student is to submit a report and the contents of report must include but not
restricted to:

should be linked to the learning outcomes as stated in Bil 11 (appendices to


include samples of work covered, where applicable)
Conclusion on how industrial attachment helps in their growth and development
and their preparation for professional work in the near future.

A separate report on the students performance from the Trainer of the Company is
also needed to have an overall assessment of the industrial training.
