Body Talk

At morning tea or lunch, fold your arms or turn slightly away while talking to your best
friend for at least 10-15 minutes. Use the negative body language signs that you have
learnt in the class
Now observe the manner in which your friend reacts to you both verbally & nonverbally. Observe the changes in conversation that follow. Make a mental note of
these changes and note them down later during the day.
Share your learnings with your friend & class. Discuss the importance of body
language and the impact and influence it has on others.

Handshake
Request family, friends and colleagues to shake hands with you and observe the type of
handshake and also observe the duration of each handshake
Notice the difference in the handshakes and document the impressions you have
formed about other people on the basis of the handshake.
Find out how people from various countries shake hands and document the same.

Resume Writing
Select 3 companies that you would like to work with and determine what kind of job
and person profiles these companies have indicated for new engineering graduates.
Technical as well as behavioural competencies have to be taken into account. Three
separate resumes would have to be created for each.
Get the resumes assessed by the facilitators.

Stress Management
Monitor the various situations you encounter and note down all the emotional and
behavioral reactions in various situations.
Identify which scenarios and aspects stress them and the strategies they choose to deal
with them.
Provide a summary of your log
List down various strategies to deal with stress

Vocabulary Building
Set a goal to learn 20 new words in 2 days.
Understand their meaning, different contexts of use, correct pronunciation and make at
least 2 sentences with each of those 20 words.
Get them checked by the Facilitator

Find out the most frequently asked questions in interviews
Prepare answers to those questions.
Document the appropriate body language and facial expressions while appearing for an
interview.

Anticipating Interview Questions
Objective:
To enable students to anticipate questions they could be asked during an interview.
Procedure:
Choose your dream company which you aspire to work with.
Visit that companys website and make a list of questions you could anticipate from the
information available on the website.
Keep in mind & list both technical as well as HR related possible questions.
Write down your responses / answers to these possible questions

Watch the movie Gandhi and make a presentation on their critique of the film paying
careful attention to Gandhis
