GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR FUSES

FOREWORD
1.
This specification has been prepared by Electronic Components
Standardisation Organisation (LCSO) on behalf of Electronic Standardisation Sub
Committee on the authority of Standardisation Committee, Ministry of Defence.
2.
This specification has been approved by the Ministry of Defence and is
mandatory for use by the Defence Services.
3.
This JSS would be used to guide design, manufacture, quality assurance
and procurement of the item.
4.
Quality Assurance Authority for the item covered by this JSS is CQA (L)
for Army, DQA (N) for Navy and DGAQA for Air Force. Enquires regarding this
specification relating to any contractual conditions should be addressed to the Quality
Assurance Authority named in the tender or contract. Other technical enquires should

SCOPE
1
This specification relates to the general requirements for fuses. It is to be
used in conjunction with the detail specification, enumerated in 2.1.2 which give
details of dimensions, ratings and other requirements peculiar to the specific ranges of
standards. It is primarily intended for components for use in services equipment.

For purposes of interpretation or construction in case of any omissions
conflicts, ambiguities or inconsistencies, to the extent that the contract consists of any
or all of the following documents, such documents shall rank in the following order of
precedence.
(a) Detail specification
(b) This specification, and
(c) Other applicable documents
TEST PROCEDURE AND REQUIREMENTS

Qualification approval and maintenance of qualification approval
procedure
2.
Qualification Approval and maintenance of qualification approval shall be
obtained as described in JSS 50102 and in the relevant detailed specification.
3.
Provision of Samples The manufacturer shall submit the requisite
number of specimens of each style for which approval is desired as specified in the
relevant detail specification and 15.3 of JSS 50102.
4.
Grouping of Specimens The specimens shall be grouped as indicated in
the relevant details specification and the group shall be identified, where appropriate,
in accordance with Appendix C of JSS 50101.
5.
Test Incidence Initial measurements referred to in Appendix C of JSS
50101 and in the relevant detail specification as group 0 shall be carried out
immediately prior to commencement of tests on subsequent groups and the results
shall be recorded. Each test shall be performed in the order listed and where
measurements are required, the results shall be recorded. Where tests are not
applicable this will be indicated in the relevant detail specification.
