Is there a worthless contribution?

Years and decades have passed but the true wealth each Filipinos has
been looking and fighting for is still on still. No big change, no high increase and
no turning point that putting peoples mind into hopelessness, hopelessness of
the day of true wealth and hopelessness for a deep happiness. We have fully
accepted the fact that Filipinos are lazy, stubborn and selfish. And it is a big
factor to our economic state. But what we could do? We were moulded by the
past governance, profoundly influence our core values. By considering it, dont
blame the people. For now, we need good governance with excellent leadership.
What they say we could contribute? By participating in the national election or to
what they call wisely voting, the best contribution the people could give. But the
act is now on stand for questions. For the past years wisely voting putting
someone on sit to possess positions why even if we are participating, voting
every election still nothing changes? Is now our best contribution worthless? Or
persistent prevails when all else fails? Are you going to vote or not?
To vote
Only every 3 years, unless provided by law, the people can exercise their
right to participate and contribute in putting aspiring candidates to government
positions. The span of time the right can exercise is quite long to waste. A great
professor of Rizal Technological University said once Not voting is like not
dreaming. If you are a parent you are voting because you are concern of your
son and daughters future life. If you are a youth you are worried of the state of
the next generation that you know somehow could influence your generation vice
versa. If you are a student you are bothered of the economic state which would
extremely affect the employment of the Philippines. And if you are old and have
experience lot more than others you are scared that younger people will
experience the dull race you have ran off. So what is the real essence of voting?

Voting is the voice as a Philippine citizen. It's your opportunity to be heard,

to hold elected officials accountable for their decisions and to have a say
in important issues

that

affect

your

community.

On

Election

Day,

every vote matters consequently every voters matters ---- to candidates. Our
votes gives victory to candidates and helps to sustain our political system in its
entirely. Voting is not just electing individuals but also we are helping to justify the
existence of our countrys political system. Like what have said by the writer of
Rappler.ph Anthony Lawrence Borja, As members of the state (as tax payers at
the very least) citizens have the capacity to determine its persistence,
development, or demise. Voting is allowing a system its sense of internal
cohesion and justifying its presence as the central power in our society.
There are few things why you should exercise your right to vote. First, It
takes ten minutes, you can do it anytime between 7am and 10pm, and a general
election only comes round every three years. Its not exactly a huge time
commitment is it? It is claimed that groups who do not vote in large numbers,
such as young people, get a raw deal from policy makers, while those that do,
such as pensioners, have been shielded from the most brutal cuts of the last
three years. If you dont vote your interests will be ignored. By voting you can
also be a big part of the community. If you arent necessarily community-minded,
voting is a rare chance to see inside a church, school, community centre that you
would not otherwise visit. Another point is that we all pay taxes so you might as
well help choose the politicians who decide how those taxes are spent. There are
faults with our voting system and we dont always get the best leaders, but as Sir
Winston Churchill once said: Democracy is the worst form of government,
except for all the others.
The right to vote is a fundamental democratic right which should be
protected by the Comelec. Our vote matters. Our voices must be heard. The
more votes, the more powerful our message is as a people. Every vote counts.

Not to vote.
On the other hand, people are considering of taking aside their
contribution and thinking of not voting. Nowadays, Election is not treated of what
it should be. There are now way too many nuisance candidates with the temerity
and sheer craziness to run for president. But who are we to question their
candidacy? According to the 1987 Philippine Constitution these are or these are
ONLY the requirements to run for president. Constitution states that No person
may be elected President unless he is natural born citizen of the Philippines, a
registered voter, able to read and write, at least forty years of age on the day of
the election, and a resident of the Philippines for at least ten years immediately
preceding such election which is a depthless requirement for the candidate who
would represent and take responsibility of being the highest leader of a country.
The nuisance candidates should not be blamed for running for president and
peoples undesirable image of the election today because of that. Will Rogers
said in an interview People are taking their comedians seriously and the
politicians as a joke which is really disturbing. So what makes the people
unserious about the election?
In the incoming election we have 5 candidates trying to please the people
for their vote for them to possess the power of being a president the highest
position in the Philippines. They are all willing and determined to serve and lead
the country. They have also an experience in public service but each has
different in lengths. They have plans, dreams and desire for the Filipino People
but it is enough to change the country, maybe yes but previous presidents have
them also but has something changed?. That what makes the Filipino people
unserious about the election, they are all tired of trusting officials that exhibits
sympathy in the days of campaign period only and after the election back to
basic, unreachable and not trustable public servants on service. Government
officials are all public servants they give public service. Public office has been

defined by the 1987 Philippine Constitution. Constitution states that Public Office
is a public trust. Public officers and employees must, at all times, be accountable
to the people, serve them with utmost responsibility, integrity, loyalty and
efficiency: act with patriotism and justice, and lead modest lives. But did they
accountable to their works including graft and corruption? Are they serving the
people with utmost responsibility, integrity, loyalty and efficiency? Are they acting
with patriotism and justice and lead modest lives? Ask yourself, are they breaking
what the constitution says? If that so why bother vote if still usual happens after
election?
If you care about politics, dont vote --- Ray Filar. We aren't supposed to
believe in our own ability to mobilise. Voting provides an outlet for any left-over
dissatisfaction. Your voice has been heard, now go back to your everyday lives,
your job, your friends, your worries. Refusing to participate not lining up nicely
at the ballot box questions this assigned relationship between ourselves and
politics. It opens the door for a different kind of participation, for more effective
actions. It challenges the idea that 'democracy' is electing the best of a bad
bunch. Voting doesn't change the current system, it maintains it. Political
engagement isn't voting, it's dismantling party politics altogether. It's abolishing
parliament. And short of that, it's having a truly participatory democracy where
peoples' choices feed through to representation. If you want to engage with
politics, forget about the election. Dont Vote.

You don't have a strong opinion. You've been back and forth all
election season, and you still haven't made up your mind which candidate
to prefer. If you vote today, it will be an electoral coin flip between two
candidates you don't particularly care for. The random noise you will
introduce into the data may provide some fun for election analysts, but
otherwise, this is a pointless exercise that -- as mentioned above -- has

roughly zero chance of impacting the election. The best you can hope to
do is accidentally send a false signal to Tweedledum or Tweedledee that
you actually like them and their policies. Do not be that person who feels
they need to develop an opinion about everything, from monetary policy to
where to go for dinner; you cannot possibly have thousands of good
opinions on different subjects, and it's OK to take a pass on making this
election one of your hobbies or treat electoral politics like the civic
counterpart to becoming a Raiders fan. If you haven't come to firm
conclusions about this election, you will do more for your country by going
home for takeout and a movie. At least you'll stimulate the economy a bit.

At the end of the day, we are the one to blame for our life, how it works
and it will end. We have to act independently with the government. God gave us
capabilities to be capable of dreaming and work for it. It doesnt matter if you vote
or not, what matters is how you live your life. Your Happiness depends on you
and not to anyone else. But make you sure if have decided to vote choose
someone Choose a leader who will invest in building bridges, not walls. Books,
not weapons. Morality, not corruption. Intellectualism and wisdom, not ignorance.
Stability, not fear and terror. Peace, not chaos. Love, not hate. Convergence, not
segregation. Tolerance, not discrimination. Fairness, not hypocrisy. Substance,
not superficiality. Character, not immaturity. Transparency, not secrecy. Justice,
not lawlessness. Environmental improvement and preservation, not destruction.
Truth, not lies. Or just watch how the election goes at you home.
