Tournament Rules
Version 1.0
COMPETITOR ELIGIBILITY
6. Every person who is a member of Alpha Company 807 (including group moderators) immediately
prior to the commencement of the first match of the tournament is allowed to participate.
COMMITMENT
7. By attending the tournament competitors agree to comply with the rules and regulations, official
announcements, and with the statements and decisions made by the moderators.
8. Every competitor acknowledges the right of the moderators to modify the rules at any time without
notice.
9.
Every competitor is expected to show respect towards moderators and other competitors. Insults
and unfair or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.
10. Every competitor accepts the official schedule of the tournament and must be available during
these times.
11. Every competitor has to try to win every game at every stage of the tournament. Intentionally
losing for any reason is strictly forbidden.
BROADCASTING
12. Players are permitted to broadcast matches on Twitch or other broadcasting services.
REGISTRATION
14. A competitor registers for the tournament by joining a "Time slot selector session", indicating that
they wish to participate in matches at that timeslot.
15. A competitor may withdraw from the tournament at any time by messaging a moderator in either
group chat or the chat of any tournament session to which the member is signed up.
TOURNMENT STRUCTURE
16. The tournament will be a knockout tournament.
17. The first round will consist of a number of matches determined by the number of competitors.
18. Subject to rule 20, after the completion of all matches in the first round, the 3 top competitors from
each match will go through to the next round. All other competitors will be offered the opportunity
to take part in "second chance matches".
19. Subject to rule 20, in each "second chance match", the top 2 competitors will go through to the
next round.
20. In any match that is not full (ie. does not have six entered competitors) then passage to later
rounds will be as follows:
Number of
competitors:
1 or 2
3 or 4
Round match
1 competitor goes
through
2 competitors go
through
3 competitors go
through
1 competitor goes
through
2 competitors go
through
21. Further rounds will follow using the same rules until the number of competitors is reduced to 6 or
less, at which time the remaining competitors will take place in a best-of-three match. The position
number of each competitor in the match will be recorded after each game and the competitor with
the lowest aggregate position number after all 3 matches will be declared the winner of the
tournament.
For example, a competitor who finishes the best-of-three matches in positions 2, 2, and 2
(aggregate 6) will defeat a competitor who finishes in positions 1, 1 and 6 (aggregate 8).
22. If the aggregate position number of two competitors is equal at the end of the
best-of-three match, those two competitors only will compete in a 1v1 match to
determine the winner of the tournament.
SCHEDULE
MATCH ALLOCATION
23. Matches will be scheduled by the moderators.
24. Competitors will be allocated randomly by the moderators to a match in their chosen time slot.
Once a competitor is allocated to a match, the competitor will not be entitled to request allocation
to a different match.
25. If there are insufficient competitors to fill all matches in a time slot, the moderators will endeavour
to ensure that each match in that time slot has the same number of competitors.
MATCH TIMES
26. Matches will be scheduled by the moderators in accordance with the time slot preferences
expressed by the competitors.
27. Once a match time is set, it may only be amended if all competitors allocated to the match agree
in the chat for that session. Competitors are under no obligation to agree to amend the time of
any match.
PUNCTUALITY
28. Competitors who are not present and in the game lobby within 5 minutes of the scheduled start
time of a match will, except with the unanimous consent of the other competitors to the match, be
disqualified from that match and will automatically be allocated last position for that match.
MATCH SETTINGS
31. In each match, the hosting competitor must create the game lobby with the following settings:
MAP: Random
VEHICLES: No
DURING A GAME
COMMUNICATION
32. All competitors in a match must be in the same Xbox Live party. If Party chat fails for any reason
or a competitor is disconnected from the party then the match is to be restarted.
33. All competitors in a match must be in the same fireteam.
PAUSES
34. Each competitor has the right to pause a match if that competitor announces a coherent reason
and then counts down three seconds to the pause (eg. "Sorry. Phone call. 3 2 1").
35. If a game is paused, the game must not be resumed before all competitors agree. Until the end of
the pause, competitors may not move but may reload their weapons or alter their equipment. If
possible at the end of the pause, all competitors are to simultaneously kill themselves (such as by
jumping off a ledge) before play resumes. In maps where terrain-based suicide is impossible (eg.
The Dungeons), competitors are not required to suicide via grenade or rocket, and play will
resume from the competitors' present positions.
36. If a pause lasts longer then 2 minutes, then the game will be abandoned and restarted.
37. No competitor may call more than one pause in a match, and if that competitor's pause results in
the abandonment of the match under rule 36 then the competitor will not be entitled to call a
pause in any later reruns of that match (even if other competitors have caused the abandonment
of subsequent matches in the interim)
DISCONNECTIONS
38. If a competitor disconnects, the match is to be abandoned and immediately replayed.
39. If the same competitor disconnects from the rerun match, then that competitor is disqualified from
that match and will automatically be allocated last position for that match.
POST-MATCH REQUIREMENTS
REPORTING
40. After each match, the winning player should report the results of the match in the session chat
and link a moderator to the report.
41. After each match, any player who qualifies for passage to the next round should confirm the
winning competitor's report in the session chat.
PRIZE
All prizes belong to the moderators until a winner is declared. As there is tournament entry fee, the
winner of the tournament prize may be asked to pay for postage of any prize. If the winner elects not
to claim the prize, then it will be held for future tournaments.
