MATERIAL W~RRANTY for STEEL PROTECTION
CORROSION PROTECTION FOR SASOL HPCMS
We, StonCor Africa (Pty) Ltd, (upon signature hereunder), hereby warrant to the under-mentioned application contractor, that our
coating system as specified (copy attached), applied strictly in accordance with the specification, and the conditions stated on the
latest versions of the Product Data Sheets, will protect the steel surfaces against corrosion for a period of five (5) years
commencing from the date stated below when the final coat has been applied and accepted by the inspection authorities. This
warranty shall be enforceable when the degree of visible rust exceeds Ri3, according to SABS ISO 4628-3:1982 - Designation of
Degree of Rusting.
This warranty is subject to application of a reference area, which the application contractor is responsible to arrange, at the start-up
of the contract, in the presence of StonCor Africa. This reference area together with the contractors' detailed QC records, will form
the basis of judging any claim. The Applicator contracts with the Client to apply the coating system strictly in accordance with the
specification, and is therefore required to monitor the quality of his own workmanship. Any deviations from the specification are for
agreement between the Applicator and the Client. StonCor Africa acts in an advisory capacity only to provide technical assistance
to other parties and does not inspect nor approve the quality of application and workmanship. This warranty is also subject to the
use of uncontaminated blast cleaning abrasive and compressed air, where applicable.
Corrosion defects that may arise during the five (5) year period of this Warranty will be made good by the under mentioned
application contractor at no costs to the client. StonCor Africa (Pty) Ltd will supply material free of charge to the application
contractor to effect these repairs, should the material supplied prove to have been defective. Any remedial work will be limited to
reinstatement of the corrosion protection to the end of the original warranty period. In such event, StonCor reserves the right to
change the product specification for the remedial work, if subsequent experience justifies this.
In the event of a claim, StonCor's liability shall depreciate as a function of elapsed service life at time of failure, relative to the total
warranty period stated above.

Act of God and Acts of malice

Physical or mechanical abuse or damage caused by maintenance teams, outside contractors, or other third parties.
Fading, chalking, discolouration or loss of gloss.
Any failure attributable to deviations from our original recommendations, with respect to limitations imposed on surface
preparation and application due to site conditions, and cost considerations.
Any failure due to change in service conditions or exposure, after the original coating system recommendation was made.
Any failure caused by subsequent degradation or delamination of any existing old coatings not removed by abrasive blast
cleaning.
Any failure caused by subsequent failure of the primer or intermediate coat.
Terms and conditions of any warranties between the application contractor and the client.
Any consequential loss resulting directly or indirectly from corrosion and any economic loss suffered as a result of delay or
inconvenience caused by repainting and reinstatement.
