Upgrades

Fire doors
Many of the door finishes and designs can be upgraded
to the level of an FD30 fire door. The door components
and construction are adapted to achieve this.
Dependent upon building regulations, fire doors are
usually required for garages joined onto the main part of
the house, and in properties that are three stories or more
above ground level.

Upgraded components
Door cores are solid as standard
Hinges are upgraded to reinforce the mechanical
connection with the door
Metal hinge housings and strike plates inside the
frame provide increased fire resistance at the primary
connection points with the door leaf
Lock mechanisms within the door are upgraded to
include all-metal components
Intumescent fire strips and smoke seals are added
around the door edge, to seal the leaf within the frame
in the event of a fire
Fire rated glass is provided on any glazed options
