Abstract
Thisresearchpaperattemptstoidentifythefactorsdeterminingindustriallocation
choiceinIndia,whichisessentialforformulationofaneffectiveindustriallocation
policy.Therearetwobroadapproachestoidentifythedeterminantsoffirms
locationdecisions.OneisModellingapproachorRevealedPreferenceapproachor
aneconometricanalysisofempiricalpatternstoidentifyrevealedpreferencebased
onthecharacteristicsoftheregion.ThesecondapproachistheStatedPreference
(orIndustrialLocationSurvey)approach.Surveyresearchtypicallyidentifiesone
ormorekeyrespondentsandasksthemaboutthefactors,whichinfluencedtheir
locationdecisionchoice.ThepresentresearchpaperisbasedontheIndustrial
LocationSurveyapproach.Itattemptstoanalysetheprimarysurveydatacollected
inthesolicitedresearchstudysponsoredbythePlanningCommission,
GovernmentofIndia.Theprimarystudyconsistedofasamplesurveyinthe
