Introduction
The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program also known as 4Ps is a conditional
cash transfer program of the Philippine government under the Department of Social
Welfare and Development (DSWD). It aims to eradicate extreme poverty in the
Philippines by investing in health and education particularly ages 0-18.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is the lead
government agency of the 4Ps which have lifted millions of people around the world
from poverty. As such, it is a human development program that invests in the health and
education of the children. It also aims to provide monetary aid to poor beneficiaries with
the hope that these investments in human capital would lessen the great financial divide
among the haves and the have nots. It operates in 17 regions, 79 provinces, 484
municipalities and 143 key cities covering 4,090,667 household beneficiaries.

Conclusion
1. Responses of beneficiaries revealed that 4Ps improved their living condition
because they were provided an added income source. Putting up small business is
perceived to have a positive impact on their economic condition.
2. Some responses of beneficiaries revealed that 4Ps made no difference in their
living condition. This because the cash grant is very minimal that once is
disbursed, it is automatically spent for all the necessary expenditures, while
sometimes it is even insufficient.
3. Responses of the beneficiaries also revealed that 4Ps has a positive impact on
their social condition because their environmental and social awareness increased.
Recommendation
1. There must be clear directives for the conditions laid upon the signing of contracts and
sworn responsibilities to ensure that all objectives are carried-out by both beneficiaries
and supervisors.
2. That the local area supervisors must monitor spending of the beneficiaries so that the
money received is spent to what is intended.
3. That he government should continue the 4Ps Program even if the new administration
arises.
