Study on the market for the Air conditioning products and services of

Company A
Introduction
Company A Industries (Pvt) Ltd is one of the popular industries not only for
manufacturing Air conditioners and refrigerators but also for its strong customer service system
under its own brand name of Company A. Currently it has extended its wings upto air
conditioners such as wall mounting, floor standing & other ceiling cassette types and
refrigerators & deep freezers for the supermarket, water dispensers called as anti leakage water
purification system model as well as industrial & commercial products such as heat transfer
applications for evaporative cooling and industrial refrigeration markets.
Now Company A having strong customer care system for its corporate customers with several
facilities such as 24 hour breakdown attendance systems, free replacement of components,
standby units in the event of an air conditioner needs extensive repairs.
With the aim restructuring, improving as well as collecting the useful information for the
diversity of the product, Our client Company A Industries (Pvt) Ltd, requested The
CONSULATNT to carry out this study to find out the following such as perception of the
customers about Company A and its services, market share information and existing demand
gap for introducing new products.
Objective of the Study
The primary objective of this study is to find out the customer perception on the brand, verify
and quantify the supply and demand of the air conditioners and refrigerators in the Sri Lankan
market, the common view for the demand to introduce new products and services.

In addition to the above study will also determine:

Key suppliers and brands of similar nature of products already established in Sri Lankan
market.

Market prices, customer preferences, usage and quality standard on each brand/ product
related to air conditioner.

Potential customers preferences based on new product portfolio.

Research Methodology
The proposed study would be a combination of quantitative research which involve in depth
interviews as qualitative method and desk research and sample survey as quantitative
components.

Sample Survey
The survey would be conducted among 100 respondents including air conditioning and
refrigeration service providers/ distributors and the potential customers in industrial and
household market.
In-depth Interviews
Approximately 5 in-depth interviews would also be conducted by Research International/
CONSULTANT to gather qualitative data/information from the study area covering the study
population. Care will be taken to select the relevant Officers of Government and private
institutions.
